I always enjoy going to Crossroads. The food is always exceptional as well as the staff. It is a nice treat to go for a special lunch with friends or just for a special treat.
Got our preferred table. And even added two more surprise guests (and a table) 25 minutes in!
Very accommodating - and welcoming as always. Thanks
This is my first time here for brunch. The food is very good, I really enjoyed!
The food and service were excellent. The menu had something for everyone.
Awesome building, beautiful history. We started in the bar area, which is lovely, then went to dining room. Fitz was our server, and made our evening even better. Quality people, quality food, perfect place-will visit again! Oh, patio area is outstanding as well.
Fresh selections and nice atmosphere as always at The Inn.
Would have received all 5 stars except that the quality of their dessert selections on the Sunday brunch menu has become less than stellar. Having said that, everything else and the scope of selections was stellar. Brought out of town guests here and it gave them a true flavor of the south and history of UNC as well as Carolina Inn. Everything tastefully done and with quality. A n amazing setting for a wedding. Service was exceptional.
In town for ball game. Weekend in Chapel Hill.
Our "worst" night at Crossroads is still a truly Great dinner experience. OK...so it WAS Friday night, AND a UNC -CH home game weekend...and of course there was a wedding at the Carolina Inn. Also four sorority events and so many families in for the game. Without a doubt the noisiest and busiest, most crowded we've ever seen at Crossroads! Still, the food was quick and perfect; service was great - and even the raucous crowd was fun. Always a hit for us and our guests. Thanks!
Dinner for 4 prior to the NC Symphony Concert at 7:30. We were seated promptly at 5:30, offered a beverage/wine/drink within a few minutes, ordered appetizers and main meals, and after a very leisurely dinner, were paid and out the door by 6:50! Perfect.
The dinner was wonderful. Our waiter, Fitz, was very helpful navigating the menu and making recommendations. We will make it a point to return for another night out.
The menu selections were very unique and inventive while still remaining loyal to southern traditional cooking.
Service was excellent also. Good wine selection.
Don’t eat here on a game weekend! Despite confirming the night before that our reso was for the bar, when we arrived a very snooty manager claimed that they don’t take reservations for the bar! Ended up in a back room which worked out due to how loud and noisy the bar was! Food was good but my husband and I both ordered the Carolina burger which was very good but while I had a delicious brioche bun, my husbands burger had 2 slices of thick toast. Strange. Also, our waiter after describing the housemade mustard, and us requesting it, failed to bring it out and we waited at least 5 mins before we could snag a different waiter to bring the mustard and refill empty water glasses. I chalk it up to the restaurant being completely swamped on a game night so probably to be expected. We usually enjoy Crossroads but will make a point to only go on non game days/nights.
Always just right.
The Sunday Brunch Buffet is fantastic and they were amazing to my kids.
Thank you so much for this wonderful Brunch!
My fried green tomato sandwich was a beauty to behold but with a heavy bed of arugula it was a mess to eat. You’d need a mouth the size of a shark to get it in your mouth. After the first bite and arugula trailing out of my mouth, I had to deconstruct the sandwich in order to eat it. No need for a diner to be served something they can’t eat in the expected manner.
The food at The Crossroads never disappoints. I have never had a better pork sandwich. We came back for it twice while on vacation this time around. The brunch is delicious. I was under the impression that you could order a la carte, but it's buffet only. Not a problem, but I the website should be updated.
Delicious brunch. Excellent omelette station. Very good entrées and dessert selection. I would have appreciated more salads and fruit selection
Great Sunday brunch. Beautiful dining area and very good food. Plenty of options.
Coffee and beverage service was lacking but otherwise a top notch brunch experience.
Wonderful food and staff!
So yummy! Great presentation, great atmosphere, delicious food!
Beautiful Hotel, excellent food and service! We will return in the near future
Crossroads os always such a welcoming place, like a home away from home. And the staff and service are always top notch; genuine, courteous and attuned to the "personality" of each table.
Food was great and service prompt and attentive. Was a bit noisy with drilling or other maintenance/repair noises right outside our window, but otherwise nothing more than expected during a busy lunch hour. It did not significantly diminish our enjoyment of the meal and venue.
A nice enough place but not really special. The food was just adequate for what was purported to be an upscale "fine dining" restaurant. Adequate, not spectacular, but adequate. What was exceptional was the service: knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. What was substantially substandard was the ambiance, décor, etc. No character at all. And I will be criticized for being a snob, but many patrons were in ragged, cut off shorts, tee shirts with various messages emblazoned on them, and flip flops. On Saturday night for dinner. I wore a suit and my date wore an elegant dress and heels. We were hoping an experience worthy of a suit and heels, but alas, no.
The food is exceptional! Lovely service, beautiful and quiet atmosphere. Decor is a little bland but everything else is so exceptional
Always a great dining experience at Crossroads. We’ve been coming here for years. Staff is attentive, friendly and professional.
Went for brunch with a friend and had a lovely afternoon! The food was really tasty (esp the grits, sausage & waffles). We had the buffet, it's not inexpensive but it comes with some nice extras of a beautiful fruit bowl, yummy biscuits and a smoothie! They let you linger as long as you like and check up on you at appropriate intervals. I will definitely return and soon...
Been to restaurant twice, both times excellent food and service.
The food was very good however I would have thought that the salad service utensils at the buffet would have been appropriate to pick up salads. As an example using flat tongs to pick up salads with much too much Caesar dressing made it very difficult. Maple syrup instead of pancake syrup would have been better for a 4-star restaurant. The pork was good but had little flavor. I might suggest having a dessert that was either sugar-free or giving folks the option of fresh berries for those folks who are diabetic as well as accommodating those that are not. Our waitress was 150% very attentive.
Always great. Valet parking at the back entrance for dinner. Love to bring out of town guest to Inn. They asked what it cost to be a member of club!
We had a wonderful experience at Crossroads about a year ago. In fact, we considered it one of our best dining experiences, so we went out of our way to return this year. A lot changed in a year. Our party of four had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. The service, however, was so incredibly slow that it took 2.5 hours to complete our meal (the same amount of time it took us to travel to Chapel Hill from Chicago!). The food was room temperature and either over cooked or under cooked. The food pairings were interesting in a non-complementary sense (the prior chief must have left the restaurant). The dessert was less than inspired, and our cappuccino tasted like an acidic Dunkin Donuts coffee with a bit of froth on top. The only thing interesting about our meal was a fried shrimp appetizer. The server was friendly but did a poor job of keeping us informed of the status of our meal and did warn us that the kitchen was stretched. There was a party in the adjacent room that was noisily distracting. The manager did comp us one meal and our dessert, which we greatly appreciated, but it did not make up for what was one of our worst dining experiences.
We love bringing out of town guests here. The inn is lovely. Food is consistently good and the buffet has a nice mix of dishes.
Food was of high quality and many choices. The service was very good but not great. The chef making the omelets was great, making sure they were how you would like them . Prime rib was excellent. Such a nice classy hotel & restaurant even if you're not a Carolina fan . The wives both liked it a lot. So close to check out everything Light Blue. Will go there again
Great place to eat
The value for money on Sunday brunch was incredible. There is a great selection including made to order omelettes and a waffle bar, along with a variety of other options plus desserts. The gentleman at the omelette station was friendly and very good at his job. They bring a smoothie shooter, fresh fruit and fresh cheddar biscuits to the table. Food quality was very good. Our server Nick was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Service was excellent all around. This is definitely on my list the next time im in Chapel Hill.
Great place to ear
We had an excellent time at Crossroads. Our server was so accommodating and kind. We three had not seen each other in a long time and catch up was paramount, so he let us have plenty of time be fore we ordered. He was so helpful about specials and favorites on the menu. We all loved our choices. We never lacked for drink refreshers. We stayed a long, luxurious time and so enjoyed our time. My only sad reflection is that I cannot recall our server’s name!! He was superb.
Some of the best food I have eaten in years! Even the tiny biscuits they serve for bread are inspired. Fantastic service and a great experience...highly recommend!
Not much on the breakfast buffet for the price. Had to ask for toast and juice. Waitress didn’t come around to see if we needed anything like coffee, juice or water - we had to seek them out. Expected more from this fancy hotel. Probably won’t stay here or eat here again.
