Crossroads American Kitchen and Bar
We were so pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and quality food that was served in the Marriott Marquis. My salad was delightful and my husband enjoyed his fish entree as well. The wait staff was superior. They knew we were headed for an early theatre curtain and we were served promptly. There is some noise from the bar - and some very fine music as well which we wish we could have heard more clearly, This is a great place to have a meal before theatre.
Waitress could have been more polite.
It is located on the 8th floor of the Marriott Marquis which is the lobby so it is crowded and noisy. The best I could say is service was good and we had salmon which tasted better than it looked. Coffee and soft drinks were $6.00 each - outrageous - but it is Manhattan.
Servers were very attentive, even though many conference attendees were arriving at the same time. We were seated right away, and our service was excellent, in consideration of our upcoming matinee. The lunch menu offered something for everyone, and the buffet was available as well. I had the In-and-Out which offered soup, salad and sandwich options, and it was perfect for before the show. We dine here often and are never disappointed.
Nice location to have drinks at. Good finger foods and you can look out at Times Square
Very nice setting. Had live music which was so nice during dinner.
A great experience. Thank you.
Great experience. Host Darren was wonderfully helpful and nice. Service was excellent. Food is very good. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was absolutely delicious. Very comfortable room. We were seated under a speaker and the music was a bit loud. But not a deal breaker. We'll be back.
Food was good not great. Service very good. Over priced but expected at a nyc times square hotel.
A good place for breakfast or brunch in the theatre district. If going with young children ask if they are entitled to the free buffet.
Party of 5 for dinner before a show. Food was excellent, service was good, and the jazz combo was outstanding.
We had osso bucho and shrimp with pasta. Both were good but not memorable. I had iced tea with mine dinner. It was$4 for a6 oz drink with no refills. All in all, we will not be back
At this hotel they highlight the breakfast buffet but there is a breakfast menu that has some
good choices. We get the good start breakfast, hot/cold cereal with milk, fruit, juice, coffee and muffin/toast/bagel
If you need it can be all gluten free. Just the right start for the day.
Not your typical hotel restaurant. Food is good, reasonably priced and they pay attentional dietary needs.
Have gluten free choices, and very good gluten free baked goods.
The lunch buffet was excellent. So much variety .Not sure if this is offered every day but you can’t go wrong if you choose this.Arthur was great server. Beautiful atmosphere. We sat down at 11:30 am on a Saturday.Line was very long to get in at noon so come at 11:30. Would definitely come here again and recommend to others.
Our server was great, just felt she couldve had more help. Food was delicious, live music was a nice touch.
I enjoy a pre-show lunch at Crossroads. There is usually no wait and service is consistent. Lunch menu is limited, but there is something for everyone. The buffet is another option, though I don’t eat enough to make it worthwhile. Waitstaff is considerate of the fact that I’ll be leaving for a matinee, and the check arrives promptly after I’ve asked for it.
We went here for a quick lunch before a Wednesday show because it was close to the theater. We enjoyed our lunch very much, and the price was reasonable. The menu was a bit limited, but that was fine with us, we all found something we liked. The service was good, and the food was tasty. No complaints at all.
EXCELLENT DINNER BEFORE A SHOW, THEATERS ARE A BLOCK OR TWO AWAY. OUR SERVER, AMY, MADE ARE NIGHT IN THAT SHE WAS SO PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL AND FULL OF GOOD ADVISE AS TO WHAT TO ORDER. WE HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND WILL DEFINATENY RETURN.
Service was not attentive at all... took me going to hostess stand to ask if we had a waiter to finally have someone acknowledge us. Appetizer plates not cleared before dinner arises making it near impossible for our entrees to be put on table. Waiter didn’t come back to check on us or the fact that we all needed water glasses refilled. Food was ok, but nothing over the top fantastic to write home about.....
I was sat immediately and my server was very prompt. Perfect for a morning coffee and bite to eat before heading out in NYC.
Pleasantly surprised. Great gluten free sandwich. NY prices but portions are tremendous.
Execellent service with attentive staff. My Chicken Caesar salad was very nice with huge portions. My son loved the steak and vegetables. Our friend snuck loved the hamburger and fries.
The restaurant was understaffed. We sat 18 minutes before we were served water or had our server. She was wonderful and considering the tables she was working she was exceptional. Great personality, hard worker. Marta was her name .
The food was incredible. Salmon , egg plant , roasted cauliflower all above our expectations.
We will be back as the positives far out weighed the negative .
Great service and food.
We had a 6:30 PM reservation and were kept waiting until 6:45 even though there were tables open. Very annoying. What are reservations for? The waitress did her best to make it up and our order came quickly so we could make our show on time. I had roast chicken which was good. My husband had fish which he said was the best he's had in a restaurant anywhere in the world. The setting was cafeteria like, not romantic as I had hoped for our anniversary. For romance, I should have picked there rotating restaurant on the top floor.
Good food but service mediocre at very best. And despite a reservation and several available tables, we got seated at virtually the worst table in the place, right next to the hostess desk. Won’t go there again.
It’s ok. Nothing special.
Great buffet breakfast. Very convenient if staying at the Marriott.
Food is always fresh. Service is excellent!
Food was meh. Service was slow. Open concept dining. No real ambiance.
We enjoyed a nice lunch (pre theatre) on a Saturday. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. The lunch menu was small, but adequate with a variety of choices. There was also a lunch buffet available, and a 3 course small portion lunch option (soup, salad, small sandwich). This restaurant is located in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel and very convenient to Broadway plays and Times Square.
Our experience at crossroads on Saturday December 1,2018 was simply terrible from beginning to end. I purposely chose the restaurant located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel bc it was a one minute walk to the Schubert Theater and we had show tickets for 8:00pm.
We had a 6:15 reservation and we’re forwarned that it would take awhile for the server to come by, we’ll 20 minutes later we had to ask for someone to bring us water, that took 10 minutes more. Then another 10 minutes to take our drink order, then another 15 minutes for the waiter to bring me the wrong drink. By the time he came back with my drink he talked us into paying $31pp for the horrible buffet bc the kitchen was severely backed up. I watched another couple wait 40 minutes for water then finally get up and leave. Never again, zero stars for Crossroads.
They were seriously understaffed for a Saturday night. Had a 5:45 reservation, seated at 6 and ate after 7. My food was cold when it came out. The other members of my party said theirs was good. The managers and wait staff never came to tell us that they were running behind and waters were not refilled until we received the check. We never got bread and nothing was comped after a huge delay. The manager never talked to us. At breakfast this morning one of the members of our party did not receive their food and the waiter got mad at him when he pointed it out. Would not recommend eating here.
Convenient since we were staying at the hotel. Had breakfast daily. Food very good. Negative is price Way too much for breakfast
Probably would not eat here again. We were seated at 5:20. No one waited on us for about 15 minutes. We did not receive our food (hamburger asked for medium, it was very well done; salmon was very good but was not served with what was stated on the menu) until 6:20. The wait staff were very pleasant but not enough of them, spread way too thin. Asked for our check, received it but then no one came to pick it up. I guess they assume everyone charges. We needed to leave to get to a 7:00 show. Expected much better from a Marriott.
Going to a play. They were fast and accommodating
Nice hotel restaurant in the Marriott Marquis overlooking Time Square. It offers a mixed menu of varied entrees from fish to lamb and sandwiches. The wait staff (Miranda) was very pleasant and attentive. There was a live jazz combo playing in the attached bar which provided a nice, relaxed atmosphere.
My crew has filet of sole with asparagus and I had the Roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes and broccoli. Solid presentation. The breading on the chicken was excellent and when accompanied by a spicy compote it provided a great combination. The fingerling potatoes were very good but the broccoli were a little past. (Long top flowerettes). By all accounts the sole was good with capers and asparagus. The accompanying potatoes had a very rich topping.
Overall, nice experience and a good meal.
We really enjoyed this place, much better than I expected. They had a good band playing jazz standards. We sat near the band away from the big window overlooking times square to hear the band better. The fish dishes we ordered were very very good I would not say excellent but very close (am being picky). I do not want to impugn the quality of the food, I have no specific complaint. The fish was tasty with interesting sides. the fish was well cooked (perhaps ever so slightly over cooked) but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The salad was excellent and the dessert was very very good. The ambiance was a little noisy and brash but come on we were right on times square and next to the theater to which we were going. The price was a little high (but not outlandishly high considering the overall quality and location), they get you with the cost for drinks, but it is New York, right in the middle of the theater district you have to expect to pay a little more. We paid $135 for the two of us including two 9oz glasses of wine and a shared salad and dessert. The service was excellent. They did not bother us too much during the meal but delivered what we need when we needed it. We arrived at 6:05 pm and were out at 7:35pm. If you are going to the theater get a 6pm reservation.
Great spot for pre-theatre (or post theatre matinee)
