coffee was cold - asked twice for hot coffee
food was lukewarm
We stopped at Crossings on the way home from visiting family on Christmas Day. Overall, the restaurant was good, but since the dinner was a buffet, I don't have any way of comparing how the food would be when ordering off the menu.
I suspect some of the food had been sitting out on the buffet line too long as the chicken scalloped potatoes were quite dry. The prime roast of beef was cooked only rare to medium rare, and my wife prefers well done, so she had to pass. Most good restaurants will offer. "End cuts" of beef that are more well done...perhaps Crossings should consider doing so too.
The desserts were good and seemed fresh.
Service and environment were good, and the restaurant wasn't hard to find. I would go again, and also recommend others try the restaurant.
Overall, it was an OK experience. The only downside was that it would have been good to include a kid-friendly offering like a bowl of plain pasta or something. I think that overall it was geared more towards adults instead of children, but three out of four in my party of four family liked it and that's pretty good I think! Great service and very courteous.
While we appreciate having a place to go on Christmas, we would have preferred hot food and not cold to Luke warm. Cold beef, cold salmon, cold veggies and cold ravioli. We told our server and he brought it to the attention of management. Appears the stereo cans went out and no one noticed until we complained. They added new stereo, but it was too late fr us. Much to their credit, They did comp us one meal.
The food was not warm but good. I don’t ever under any circumstances, send food back to the kitchen so I just grinned and bared it. But other than that everything was great. My waiter, DeJames was very attentive and kind.
Food took forever to come out and server never checked back with us so we had to ask a different server to get her to bring our check. Food was good but would not return unless we had a lot of time.
A good meal and will visit again.
Great time for my wife's birthday, good drinks, had the lamb medium, it was fantastic.
Came from a 5 hour car ride from South Carolina . We were stuck in a lot of traffic on I95 and at arrived at 10:40 pm (kitchen closes at 11pm). Was tired and hungry, so we booked an overnight stay at the Westin particularly so that we can have a great meal at Crossings (we've been there before). The $40 ribeye was over cooked and the $30 lamb chops were swimming in a very sweet sauce. Our waitstaff was busy doing her end of shift tasks, so she really didn't check on us. We ate it because we were hungry, but the value of this meal did not equate to what we payed for. So very disappointed, because we thoroughly enjoyed it the first time.
Our family visited the Crossings on last Thursday June 15 after my daughters graduation. We had a large party of 15. And the ambience, waiters and food were all superb. This restaurant definitely receives 5 STARS! I would recommend this establishment to everyone :)
The worst mother's day buffet I've ever paid good money for. Food quality was poor. The buffet was not maintained and many dishes were empty for far too long. The beef on the carving station was raw, not rare. I know the difference. So long story short, I spent 35 bucks per head times 9 and had a few cocktail shrimp, an omelet and a salad. Nice Hotel, rude and terrible server. Rip off
Best Mother's Day brunch I've ever had!!!
We waited 10-15 minutes for someone to greet us despite their being only one party in the dining room. I asked for a cocktail and they didn't have all the the ingredients to make it, so they just sent some sparkling wine and pretended it was the drink I ordered. Someone, walked up to the table and took the wine glasses off. She didn't speak or anything. The food was cold, they served vegetables that had been reheated. We waited for over 30 minutes for food and their was only one other table. The manager ( I am guessing) came up and asked how the food was and when we said ok, she said she wasn't convinced and kept standing and staring at us and in an aggressive a rude tone said that she is used to getting a fantastic review. She was waiting to get us to change our opinions. We kept saying it was ok and she finally walked off. It's sad. It was our wedding anniversary. Thankfully, the food was much better when we got married there.
We had a wonderful Valentine's night here. The food was phenomenal!!!
The Westin's restaurant, The Crossings, has been a consistently excellent business lunch spot. Trying for dinner was a great idea. The staff is professional, helpful, and pleasant all at once. There is no corkage fee, so our nice bottle of wine that we brought was that much better. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. The beef carpaccio was thinly sliced, precisely seasoned, with dressed greens that complimented the dish. The jerk salmon special as just that, very special. A lovely evening - I can now recommend it for lunch and dinner!
Your staff walked back and forth past by our table for 20 minutes ignoring us before we finally flagged one of your waitresses. We laughed at how bad your service was, never seen anything like it, hopefully never again.
Also mashed potatoes are bland, gravy is preferred, maybe you could put some out, also, will need a spoon to serve it.
There are a lot of things about running a restaurant you don't seem to get.
Great Christmas set up, professional and great quality of foods.
Was looking for a nontraditional Thanksgiving dinner. We were able to order off the menu and all of the food was delicious. The service was excellent as well and it was a great value.
Their Thanksgiving Buffet was great. If you left hungry it was your own fault. Plenty of food and variety. Will be going there for Thanksgiving next year.
The Christmas prefix meal was good but the fact that 20% gratuity was already added to the bill for such slow, non existent service was insulting. We were told "thank you for your patience". Not sure if staff didn't show up or just poorly planned but it got old quickly having to wait to order, ask for water, wait for food, wait for check etc.

After hours on the road, we arrived at the beautiful Westin hotel. We were debating going out in Richmond, but the menu at the Crossings looked quite interesting. I usually avoid restaurants in hotels, but the service and food very good to excellent. Salmon yummy, crab cakes lump and large. Would eat there again.
I don't know how the pick and choose their time for lunch but we made reservations and showed up and there was NO LUNCH that day? The gentlemen told us that some days they have buffet lunch but there was not enough people in their 'hotel' to serve lunch that day? Very disappointed!
I was not impressed with the food that was on the mother's day brunch.
The price was ridiculous for what they offered. Most of the food was cold and they
did not have a very good selection
A bit pricey for hotel food and waiters a bit confused on orders.
If a waiter walks out on his shift during the Thanksgiving meal, leaving the diners wondering why they hadn't been served, when all the diners who arrived after them are getting their meals, then the least the restaurant could do would be to offer a free drink or desert as an apology.
Very great, the Employee's had there stuff together, clean, the food was excellent, topped by the excellent service. For a Holiday Serving, everything was fresh and there was no complaints. We had a party of 10 and everyone was pleased of the service as well as a few. Would go back without any hesitation, thanks
Will not visit this restaurant again....no concern from management after finding hair on my plate.
I recently visited Richmond, and made a reservation at Crossings as I was staying at the Westin. The menu offerings were terrific and the meal that I had was very nicely prepared and very good. The service was also excellent. I recommend Crossings.
We arrived to a very quiet restaurant, the server was excellent, go us to a table and settled in. We then ordered our meals and I was sold on the special by the server, It turned out to be a great selection, hats off to the chef, with the seafood stir-fry special. We enjoyed the meal and definitely will be back for more!
I enjoyed this restaurant's different options to choose from (Asian cuisine dishes, lamb, Italian) with their own unique sauces. Great wine list. The servers were extremely friendly. BUT The service was a bit slow and the food seemed a bit room temperature as opposed to fresh out of the oven. But other than that it was a great experience
Even coming from Wisconsin, it was too cold for me not to wear a coat during dinner. service was a bit slow. Food was good.
It was the perfect spot away from traffic and without the long wait of franchise regulars.
There were 4 of us, 3 adults, one child. They gave us our check before we even received our drinks! Unprofessional. We were rushed to leave. Some of the food was over cooked. Over priced. I wouldn't recommend.
We often have lunch or breakfast meetings at the Crossings. The staff is always very attentive and accommodating. The food is reasonably priced and consistent. It is a good spot for a working lunch or an afternoon coffee.
convenient if staying at the hotel and want good food and good selection of various american entrees
We truly enjoyed the courteous staff and wonderful buffet meal at the Crossings Restaurant. The food was fresh and the buffet table was clean and organized. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
A well lit and beautiful place to spend Christmas Eve for dinner. The food was great and we enjoyed ourselves.
This was wonderful and I will go again. You had the option of a buffet or a plated dinner. The only problem we encountered was the waitress brought us the wrong bottle of wine and the one she brought us was $38.00 more than the one we ordered.
After a long day driving to Richmond we decided to just eat at the Westin Hotel restaurant where we were staying. We have stayed at the hotel often but never ate in Crossings. We were very pleased with the variety of the menu, the food was well prepared, and the service very friendly and attentive. The next time we eat there it won't be just out of convenience.
