The Cross & Orange name and concept originates from lower Manhattan’s mid-19th century Five Points district where two cross streets and multiple cultures converged from around the world to form cuisines that are considered today's American classics. Cross and Orange intends for an approachable dining experience with park and lakeside views, just blocks from the Atlantic Ocean where it all began.

We had an early (6pm) dinner on a Wednesday so the place was pretty quiet other than some people at the bar and one large party in the dining room. Service was good and quick. The standout dish for me was the Impossible burger -- so great to have vegan options! The two disappointments were the roasted cauliflower, which was fairly limp and bland, and the teeny-tiny-but-very-expensive martinis. It was too chilly to sit outside, but there is an outdoor area facing Kennedy Park which seems like it would be a pleasant place for a meal.

Big, beautiful restaurant. Comfy chairs and booths inside but we opted to sit outside. I find some restaurants do not put enough thought into their sidewalk furniture but the tables and chairs at Cross and Orange were sturdy and comfortable. The service was excellent....attentive without being overbearing. Brunch menu had a little bit of something to please everyone. I opted for the chicken and waffles (fluffy waffle, herb-y fried chicken, and a creamy gravy all topped off with syrup. this was extremely delicious, I couldn't put my fork down.) My date had the crab benedict, also very delicious. I liked that the crab wasn't a crabcake put instead lump crab meat. With our meals we started with mimosas (fresh squeezed OJ) and the Pump Up The Jam cocktails (gin, honey, lemon and preserves). Cocktails were well crafted and strong. We finished with an order of churro's and the Rise & Shine cocktails (tequila, espresso and cream). Churro's literally melted in your mouth, highly recommend. I can't wait to try Cross and Orange for dinner.

Fun time, nice night out! Very cool Asbury Park vibe. The service was friendly and helpful. Lots of eclectic food choices and contemporary preparations, from vegetarian to burgers to sea food. Unique and delicious wine choices and craft cocktails. Casual yet refined dinner. Very enjoyable evening out with friends!

Nice atmosphere, good food. Appreciate the vegan option for a vegan family
member. Nice to have a place to go where being a vegan os accommodated. Just wish Cross & Orange would post all menus on their website. We have experienced confusion when only brunch menu is available online. Different offerings for dinner.

I loved brunch at Cross & Orange. The staff was great and the food was delicious. I would definitely go back. Parking is hard to find in the area so allow plenty of time to get to your reservation.

Pros:
-Nice ambiance
-Good value for what you pay for
-Offered an eclectic menu

Cons:
- Service needs improvement . I had to haul a server down to be able to order a drink while I waited for the rest of my party. When everyone arrived our server forgot about the bar drinks for at least 15 minutes and the drinks did not arrive until the food came. He did get them taken off the check so we did not have to pay but it still ruined the experience since we wanted to have a drink and chat before the meal came. I would've rather paid for a better experience .
- the food was mediocre at best, most of it arrived to the table either cold or luke warm and was OK
- the parking is a nightmare which is not the restaurant's fault but still sucked. I did read a review saying there was a free parking lot offered by the restaurant on lake street but that is not true as they do not offer any parking

We really enjoyed our experience. The menu was simple and everything we ordered was great. Our server was very nice, but it did take a while for our main course and drinks to come out. That would not keep me from coming back though!

It was decent. The best thing is they bring fresh popcorn to the table. It was a bit hard finding something to order so we settled on steak burgers which were tasty enough. The cauliflower app was tasteless and overpriced but the side of Brussels sprouts was really good. We went because we could get a table on a Saturday night which might say something right there.

Came here because we were in town for the marathon the next day. We have a mix of people - two picky eaters, one person with multiple allergies, and two with higher brow tastes and Cross & Orange was able to accommodate them all. The brussels sprouts and cauliflower were incredibly well done, as was the squid ink pasta. We also enjoyed the impossible burger (with Gluten free bun) and steak burger with added parmesan fries which were also very tasty. Dessert was homemade ice cream with a berry glaze over a locally sourced donut which was good.

Ambiance was very nice and chill, not stuffy or too laid back. We loved the decor and the fact that the check came in a book (which we took a little time to read the ending of. Apparently the butler DIDN'T do it.)

Easy paid street parking nearby and if we'd had time we would've explored the area more, it looked really cute. All in all we really enjoyed it and would go back if we lived anywhere near here.

We dined for Easter brunch. The service was fantastic, the restaurant is very well decorated and tables were not crammed together. The food was ok, definitely not up to other meals we have had there but I expect that during a holiday.

Arrived at 8:50 for a 9 o'clock reservation. The hostess suggested we get a drink at the bar and said she would call us when the table was ready. The hostess forgot about us, but, the manager saw us standing around awkwardly and seated us around 9:30. Ordered drinks which we did not get until almost 10.p.m. and were made poorly. The calamari appetizer was delicous. The scallops entree was tasty, but the $32 price tag for 5 small scallops and some corn was not worth it. Will not be returning here anytime soon.

so happy to have a place that has interesting delicious meat free dishes, I had the sunflower tacos, delicious!! we were a party of four and everyone had a nice selection from chicken and mashed potatoes to fish and vegan choices.
Our waitress was a doll!
the only thing that was incredibly unnerving was the huge Janga blocks kept CRASHING to the floor and each time you just cringed!! maybe a rug with good padding to cover the whole Janga area would be a good solution....
Go and enjoy!

A fun place to have dinner. Nice lively vibe. Good for couples and families. Long bar and separate but large eating area. Friendly service. Menu accommodates snacks to meals, plus a nice drink menu. I can't comment on the dinners and my wife and I went for appy's which were very good, so I'm sure the dinners are not disappointing.

We shared mussels which were excellent. Plump and not too large. I had a wedge salad which used green leaf lettuce instead of iceberg, and was excellent. My wife had an eggplant burger that she enjoyed very much as well. We both had to take half of our appy's home.

Food was delicious! Wedge salad was more than enough for 2. The complimentary popcorn was to die for!. My husband had the fried chicken-it was enormous but delicious and different. The shrimp scampi was wonderful. We tried the flight of wine- such a good idea. Too full for dessert. Can't wait to go back and try something else!! highly recommend!

I have been wanting to try Cross and Orange for some time and have to say it was very disappointing. The service and food were both terrible. I ordered the root vegetable salad, it had raw butternut squash which was difficult to chew. My friend sent back her raw burger and a manager didn’t even stop by to see want was wrong. Then we tried the tres leches cake which was tasteless. Sorry we will not be back.

The food is always incredible, the menu has so many great options and the service is always exceptional. The Bloody Mary is a must have and always a favorite of mine. I would highly recommend Cross & Orange if you're in the Asbury area.

Never will return. VERY disorganized. No mature management to be seen. Staff who were there couldn’t handle the 4 occupied tables and light bar patrons at the bar area. It was so bad that the table of 2 next to us left after waiting 30 minutes for their cocktails which arrived 5 minutes after they left! ( Which goes to show you staff was oblivious to what’s going on). We waited as well and it wasn’t completely accurate to what was ordered so waited some more. Other diners in my party had dinners that were decent. My dinner- root vegetable salad (don’t order) was missing ingredients, as described on the menu, and was mainly larger shaved butternut squash. My salmon on top was good. They did take my meal off the bill but Asbury is loaded with too many nice restaurants to put up with this kind of nonsense. They really need to get their stuff together or they won’t make it much longer. We had a Friday night 7:30 reservation and the place was dead.

I had been to Cross & Orange for brunch and it was fantastic. We sat at the bar, food and service were good. Suggested to have dinner there with friends and it was simply awful! We did have a very nice server, but that was the extend of a pleasant evening. All four of our dinners were terrible. My husband and I both had the beef bourguignon and it was horrible. It was served in a loaf of bread, which sucked up all of the juice making the dish very dry. Add to it, the meat was slightly warm. Our friend had shrimp scampi, which they said was the worst they’d ever had. Again, her meal was barely warm. The final dish was a medium rare steak, which was “cold” and had to be sent back. This was after a long wait for our main course to come out. Perhaps they sat at the pass too long. That being said we will not be going back!!! Very disappointing
