Cross & Orange
$18 carafes of Mimosas were a hit! Overall good meals, donut scrambled egg sliders , interesting. Nice crisp side salad with it. Crab benedict very good, side potato, eh. French toast with fresh berries was delicious and plentiful. Wedge salad was disappointing. Wilted lettuce and way, way over dressed with dressing. In hind sight, 1) should have asked for dressing on the side and 2) sent it back. Nice Sunday brunch.
Honey buffalo chicken wings were the best I’ve ever had! Our server, Nick, was great!
Everything about Cross & Orange was wonderful. From our server, on to corn dog appetizers, then one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. The burger had a variety of choice beef and brisket, but was also strewn with bacon. The flavor was exceptional.
They have other delicious and seemingly upscale items on the menu, but that’s what I was craving. It truly satisfied!
You won’t be disappointed!
Most underrated brunch spot in Asbury Park. Amazing food, atmosphere, and drinks.
The food and service was the worst we have encountered in Asbury Park. Two out of three of us hated their meal, which was prepared very badly. Chewy meat. Wilted lettuce. The bartender didn't know how to make our drinks. The restaurant was about half empty, which was our first clue on a summer Friday that it's no secret this place stinks. They should do the right thing and let a new restaurant take over since it is a great space and location!
I was very disappointed in the food this time. There were a number of things on the menu that were sold out. It was hamburger night and I guess they were promoting that menu. Also I received a better value at a nearby restaurant the night before. I had a before dinner drink, salad and dinner and wined with dinner. For almost the same price, I only had one drink, dinner and a side dish at this restaurant. Plus the salad and dessert that I selected were sold out.
Nice place. Different foods.
We've been to Cross & Orange multiple times and have never been disappointed. Outstanding food and service. One of our favorite restaurants.
We enjoyed the food. My daughter did order a burger and asked for it medium well and just cheese and no other items. When It came it was more on the rear side. Then they bought it back cooked but added lettuce, onions, etc. The third time they got it right. However, they did the right thing and they were really good about it and did not charge and did not charge for her drink as well.
The interior space is quite nice. The hostess was quite personable and efficient. Our waiter was quite nice, but did forget to bring our drink order until prompted by me. He was appropriately apologetic. The brunch menu is nice and the food was good. We waited over 30 minutes for our food and the short rib hash was a bit too chilly. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. After trying several other restaurants in Asbury Park, I would go back to Cross & Orange and give it another try.
Very good service and food. Fun drinks too!
We made a 9pm reservation and were a few minutes late. The hostess informed us we’d better hurry the kitchen’s closed. After this unfortunate beginning, our experience improved enormously. Our server was pleasant, the kitchen was open, and the food was pretty amazing. We look forward to returning.
The menu is very interesting here. The selections can be made for both carnivores and vegetarians. The Bahn Mi Bowl was good however the pork belly was undercooked. The vegetable side dishes, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, were excellent. It's a little pricey.
Has become our go to place for brunch on Sundays with friends. With all the usual standards and some unusual offerings, no one will leave there disappointed. Even went with a friend who is gluten free and there were multiple choices marked gluten free. How can one go wrong?
Very limited menu. More of a place for a snack. Very very limited bar offerings. Doesn't carry popular brand vodka or gin.
Wonderful! I will definitely go back!
My husband and I had a great brunch outside with our dog Zeus! They were very accommodating to Zeus and brought him out a water dish. The service was friendly and the food was great! I had the crab Benedict and my husband had the chicken and waffles.
Went for brunch and we got the mushroom tacos and the banh mi bowl, let's just say my gf devoured the tacos before I can finish my bowl, it's that good. Definitely will go back again for out next brunch date.
I love cross and orange. The staff take pride in what they do, what they serve, and the customer experience.
We have had several good meals at C&O, but Sunday night was not one of them. Sent my special sirloin burger back three times trying to get it "medium", but kept coming back raw in the middle after being cooked in a microwave I am guessing - there was melted cheese on top so hard to imagine it went back on the grill. The correct response after the first failed attempt should have been "we will remake the burger." But it wasn't, so I asked for them to take it off the bill and they did. Calamari appetizer was over cooked. We will likely be back, but not for a while.
Had foodies in from New York City and was looking for a place for Sunday brunch that served more than the routine French toast, pancakes and egg dishes. Found it at Cross and Orange where besides the staples which wee excellently prepared, had more exotic choices including the Latin breakfast and the Banh Mi bowl. Complemented by a full service bar, the brunch was a great success and everyone left raving.
Our meals were delicious and the service was perfect. We will return!
Lovely birthday dinner outside with a view of Cookman Avenue and Kennedy Park. Our server, Frank, was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Grilled octopus and tomato salad were standouts.
Arrived late for our reservation but staff was accommodating. Sat right away surprisingly not crowded for a Friday in the summer. Enjoyed our food , very good and excellence service !
Love Cross and Orange! We go there frequently. Brunch was fantastic and Nick, our server, was the BEST!! The entire staff is great! I highly recommend a visit.
The veggie banh mi was not worth $28. I didn’t even eat the plainly sliced jalapeños
Best veggie burger. Went on our anniversary and was treated to champagne on the house.
Horrible hostess, made us feel totally unwelcome when we showed up 15 mins early for our reservation
Total disaster. Arrived at 730 for a 730 reservation. We ordered everything probably about 15 min I to it. 9pm we left. Our dinner never came. We knew we were in trouble when we sat the hostess going around to each table and apologizing to everyone. They did comp our drinks and apps, but they had to because I would have disputed the charge. They ruined our night.
New menu out for the weekend had something for everyone, including picky eaters. I think the prices on some items were over the top considering the style of restaurant, atmosphere, local competition, servers and food presentation. All food was cooked perfectly for the table, and nothing left on plates! Solid beer and my table enjoyed some of the specialty cocktails. Waitstaff was a bit of a nuisance trying to rush us through ordering our entrees (literally came over ever 2 minutes for 10+ minutes after we ordered a nice selection of apps). Plenty of tables open in the restaurant and no reason to push spenders out, especially when we keep ordering and there were 15 empty tables around us on a Sat night.
Overall 3.5 You will not go wrong choosing the restaurant and this place looks to have open tables when all others around are booked on OT.
Very good food overall. Weak kids menu. Odd calamari with not much calamari. Waitress forgot one item.
Very good dinner - lots of GF and Vegan options - will be back -
Quality of food has definitely improved. Sat outside overlooking Kennedy Park. Great service from David. Hostess was very accommodating as we wanted to sit outside and one of our guests was of limited mobility. She helped us figure out how to meet everyone’s needs with an available table that had ample seating and a chair that worked for our guest.
New find for us in AsburyPARK
Wonderful food and good drink.
Shout out to our waiter Kevin for a fun time!
Amazing. Beautiful restaurant. Loved the octopus appetizer and our entrees. Fries were soggy.
Cocktails were delicious.
A lovely dinner.. many thanks.
We all enjoyed the calamari appetizer. It was 'fit for foodies' ... out of the ordinary and delicious. The sea scallops were excellent and the cod was very good. The pork belly (bowl) was 1 star worthy as I could barely cut it (the flavor of the sauce was good). Mona and Jen made up the wait staff. They were very pleasant and responsive. Overall ... 4 stars from our group of 4.
Was a really nice place. It had a nice vibe. I made reservations just to be safe and it probably wasn’t necessary. I got an ice tea which was served in a tall thin glass with a ton of ice so it was 2 sips and needed a new one. Loved the menu, it had great healthy choices. I got the artic char with lentils and fennel. The lentils were way too salty but all the flavors blended well together just a bit salty. Reasonably priced and again great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place.
Went for brunch with my husband on Sunday. Love the string lights inside! We had the crepes which were so light and delicious. I had the mushroom tacos and added a sunnyside egg to it. So good and different from a normal brunch choice. My husband has the crab eggs benny. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Would definitely recommend going!
