I’ve been to Crop before for my birthday and it was a magical experience. My dad turned 70 and my whole family flew into town for said magical experience, but it was a lackluster evening. Service was sub par, and we were forgotten about on numerous occasions. The menu featured winter vegetables too, which seemed weird for the middle of July. The meals were prepared well and the flavors were there, but my husband’s potatoes under his steak were cold. Not room temp, cold. Very off putting. We asked to see the vault and the hostess seemed less than thrilled to show us. Overall, management needs to reevaluate the menu and server staff. Needs polishing. If I want to eat in an old bank, I’m heading to the Marble Room.
Great food. Above average drink menu. Met expectations
The popcorn was soggy. The beet salad was good. The bacon on the soft wedge salad was a thick slab, laid across the top. It was awkward and my date did not appreciate having to cut it up. The halibut was excellent. The lamb shank was over cooked. The hazelnut cake was flavorless and seemed likely to have been purchased from a local grocer's freezer case.
Macaroni and brisket is not as it sounds. It is the BEST on the menu!!
The meal was fantastic. I ordered the Prime Ribeye and my wife order the Prime Short Ribs. Both were cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend the Back Porch Margarita. Light, fresh and delicious. My wife had the chocolate hazelnut cake and I had the almond crusted fig cake. Absolutely amazing meal!
Amazing customer service. And the food was out of this world, we loved everything we ordered! Took my fiancé for his birthday and he was impressed. We will be having brunch there soon!
Dinner for five at Crop on a Friday summer night was OK ... first time there. It did not live up to the online reveiws we found. Appetizer (deviled eggs) was very good. My halibut and risotto were pedestrian. If Crop is aiming to be a farm-to-table leader, they have a ways to go. Seemed all the vegetable options were in some sauce or as hash (winter vegetables in summer?) ... I would like to see fresh local offerings drive the menu ... that would be something to get excited over. The setting was subdued and dark-ish ... not the wow space it could be. Staff and server were very friendly and gracious ... took us for a tour of the bank vault ... sorry to have seen the underbelly of Crop ... may want to rethink what customers see.
Sunday Brunch. Very loud inside due to high ceilings and piano player. Chose to eat at bar to reduce noise level. Food was average. Shrimp bowl was plentiful but shrimp completely water logged, no taste. Servers around the buffet were super friendly and helpful. I wanted more sauce for the Eggs Benedict and he told me to wait a few minutes, there was a fresh batch just coming out, plus he went back and get me extra sauce as well. Excellent customer focus from that standpoint. Took a while for bartender to replenish our drinks - but considering he was only one covering the bar, understandable. Overall, would not return unless a special occasion with a group of people where noise level is not a concern.
Need to add a filet to the menu
Get rid of Prime
Need to revamp the short ribs
Work on service at Front
Service was fairly slow even after the rush had ended, but otherwise great
Sunday brunch was my first time at the Crop. The selection of food was excellent. The chocolate mousse cake is to die for! My waiter wasn't as attentive as I would have liked (never did get my coffee refreshed and he charged me the adult fare for a child's brunch, but that was corrected), but other than that, I will return for brunch and recommend the restaurant to others.
Great food - delicious, fresh, something for everyone. Service? Not so great. It took half way through the meal to get a latte. (Keep in mind this is a buffet, so drinks are ALL the servers bring you.)
Didn’t even get to eat here! Booked our reservation for our anniversary dinner and sat at our table for 35 minutes without so much as a hello from a server. Pretty disappointing as this is in a beautiful building and we were looking forward to it. We ended up going to the flats and had a wonderful dinner.
Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend. Our server James was amazing, we loved his spirit and energy. I will request him for now on
I have been to Crop Bistro on several occasions and have enjoyed both times. The vibe in the restaurant is very cool as it is a converted bank building. The only issue I have encountered is that they have run out of one of the entrees I have tried to order on both occasions.
Attended Sunday Brunch for Father’s Day. Beautiful assortment of food that was all perfectly prepared! Service and consideration of staff was outstanding. Looking forward to returning!
Great food and service! We were seated too near the piano player - hard to talk. Wish we’d asked to move.
Our server, Amanda, made the evening very special! Food was outstanding and not as expensive as rumored to be. You
Our server Tama was excellent, and the food was equally excellent. We have been to Crop one other time, and it was just as good as we remembered. We were very happy we shared the experience of Crop with our good friends. Thank you!
Food was nice, but could have been much better when compared to the ambience!
Service was friendly but a little slow...and there were only 5 tables with guests. We had to switch tables because the air conditioning was blowing freezing cold air on us and it was a chilly day outside too. Food was excellent. A bit pricey but we expected that. We'd probably go back if we're in the area but not sure we'll make a special trip. They gave us a tour after we were done eating...that was nice. Overall, nice restaurant but not overly impressed.
The food was delicious and the portion sizes were large. They had some unique and interesting combinations of flavors that I didn't think would work, but it did.
Nice place. Good meal. Decent service. Can’t ask for much more.
Latest visit was a bit of a let down. My companion had the Ribeye steak and it was about 1/4" thick like a breakfast diner steak. No matter how the meat was prepared that thin slice of meat when you are expecting to eat a ribeye was a real disappointment. He has ordered this before and it was great. They must be cutting corners to save money. He ordered an espresso martini and it was not great - very acidic. I had the Halibut special with crab risotto. I did not taste any crab although the risotto was very creamy. The Halibut was good but nothing exceptional which is what this chef is known for. They still had the funny flavored popcorn on the menu. The venue is beautiful. There was piano music playing and the acoustics were good. Hey Crop if you are listening put your old Ribeye back on the menu raise your prices instead or give a smaller cut just not a skinny cut.
We ordered the roasted chicken and it was cooked to perfection. The generous servings included mashed potatoes and green beans. Many upscale restaurants we’ve been to recently charge extra for sides. The hazelnut cake was heavenly. Perfect size for sharing.
Good restaurant, but pricey for what it offers
Sat on the table and waited during brunch, no server came to tell us the process (it was our first time), so we jumped to buffet. I learnt who the server was, when she handed me the check......
I have been going to Crop for a number of years now, and I chose Crop for the occasion with my fellow judicial assistants. However, I was soooooo disappointed to find that my favorite sandwich was no longer on the menu. That sandwich was the salmon BLT (YUMMY). That was the best salmon sandwich I had ever tasted, and I not a spring chicken (LOL)! Please consider bringing that sandwich back please.
We came for the Sunday brunch, I’ve lived in Cleveland for 5 years and this is by far the best brunch in town! They have something for everyone’s tastes! Also before leaving ask for a tour of the old bank vault, it’s an incredible sight to see!
Located across the intersection from West side Market in a large space that used to be a bank building. The high ceiling and old architecture make for interesting views and conversation. We were there for thr brunch buffet and the selection and quality of foods were both great, too many choices to list. The staff were friendly enough but not really attentive, I guess with a buffet they don't need to be, but still.
I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.
Great food and service was spot on. Very friendly staff. I would recommend the brunch.
The room is terrific and beautiful, but as a condequence the noise level gets pretty out of control.
Didnt have a server so much as an order taker. My at-the-table experience from service was not up to par with the ambiance, food, and pricetag.
Excellent food and beautiful building. Some initial problems with the service, but the waitress was very apologetic and worked hard to make it up to us. Overall great experience, would definitely go back.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We sat for 20 minutes and no one came to greet us or take a drink order. My husband had to go to hostess station to ask the manager if someone would help our table. He sent someone over then came over himself to say they had just switched the stations, and no one knew they were assigned to our table. Appetizers were decent, but small. I ordered the ribeye, which was inedible. 90% gristle. The man busing tables asked if I wanted a box, I said no. He just took my full plate away and never asked if everything was okay. Our waiter must have known everything was bad, as he came to the table, put down a dessert menu and said if we wanted something it would be free. We said we didn't want any more food, so he walked away. He came back shortly thereafter with the bill of $130.00. Nothing had been taken off. We left there mad and hungry. Our anniversary had been ruined. We will not be back, and will be sure to tell everyone of our experience.
Always great.very friendly place. The staff remembered that we were in for brunch in February and that we were on our way to the Batanical Garden. Good food and great champagne.
Excellent service, ambiance and food - love the old building and the popcorn was fantastic!
The service was slow and the ceiling almost fell in on us. The food was good.
I went there with a former colleague to get caught up for lunch. Host was very friendly and helpful and let me choose my table, however it went down from there. Service was lousy. Server barely acknowledged our existence, and it wasn't exactly crowded! Waited at least a half hour for my lobster roll, which does not need to be cooked. I'm sure it was longer.
We had such a great experience at Crop. First, our server was fantastic, came by the right number of times and was so personable. The food was to die for, highly suggest the shrimp and scallops.
Five of us went for Mother's Day Brunch buffet. It was fantastic!! The variety was outstanding and our servers Ryan and Juan were very attentive and helped with everything we needed!! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we have been telling everyone about it!!
