I was unimpressed with the quality of the food and the prices are high. There is an up-charge for almost everything, including bread. If you want any gratin potatoes, it’s an additional charge. I like the music there, but the food and prices are disappointing.

I usually love this place, but last night we were seated in the boring dining room instead of the lovely bar area. The food was cool, must have sat in the kitchen. The fish had way too much sauce, drowned it. And the server was snippy and incompetent. Hopefully just a bad night.

The staff left a lot to desired, the wait staff messed up our order, then tried to make us feel like we ordered the wrong thing. We ordered white wine not red. We went for a show that we had a reservation for only to be told that it was for a Dining only reservation, lucky that the show was not sold out. Only to be put at a table for six in the back off to the side. Got to our table and it was either over sold or people were sitting there who d I’d not have a reservation, we were made stand in the middle of the room while they found us a table and it was pointed out rather rudely that this table was a upgraded table from what we had. While we had to wait around I almost got knocked around and pushed out of the way by at least 3 staff members who apparently had somewhere to be and did not bother to say excuse me or apologize for actually pushing me out of the way. I also nearly got hit by a cart that some staff was pushing somewhere, if I didn’t turn and see her just in time the cart would of smashed my kneecap as we were sitting at a high top table in the bar area. Overall while the show was outstanding and very enjoyable the place itself was far from it and I will not be back anytime soon.

Thanksgiving buffet was excellent well spaced out so not to crowed. That said preferred last years table service for elderly parent as it was difficult for her to walk and carry a plate as she made her selections. Host owner Margarita was gracious as ever. Love Crooners the food is always fabulous service great music fantastic best place in Twin Cities.

While the Thanksgiving Buffet food and service was ok, our experience was not.

We were ushered through the room past several empty tables with the host person stopping at tables, moving chairs and leading us to a bar style table with high type chairs against the windows and was told that they would be seating other people with us at the smallish table. I objected gently and asked for a regular table. The host person said she would see what she could do and quickly came back and said that there was nothing she could do and offered a manager. The distracted manager approached and gruffly asked what the problem was. I complained about the uncomfortable bar type table and that they panned on seating others with us. Her reply was “well then, I won’t seat anyone else with you and abruptly left.

We were not aware that we would be seated with others when we made the reservation and there was no mention of the ridiculous bar type seating. Transparency would have made this all moot as we would not have made the reservation.

We eat out frequently and are always looking for a supper club type place and thought that we may have found it here but this experience left us disgusted and we will not be returning.

This was my first time at Crooners, which I found on Open Table, and I was wonderfully surprised by the elegance, the decor, the cleanliness, and the service by the staff. Food could be stepped up, but it was fine... just not over-the-top like the rest of Crooners. Please start a new Crooners in Minnetonka or Eden Prairie. With the live music, the wonderful atmosphere, and the old-world (Frank Sinatra era) charm, you'd do great!

If you want to sit in the main dinning room with the band, you will have to make reservations on the Crooners website. This was a little disappointing as I thought we would be able to see the band and we were in a separate dining room.

The prime rib special jumped ten dollars in price and was really fat.
To get a decent table we had to pay $10.00/person for four people even though the place was half empty. We were there Friday evening at 8:45PM Oct 12th

We have been here 4-5 times over the past year only because of the convenience of the location and who we were meeting. We are done. I must say, the pricing is quite high for the value. The prime rib "special" was $36 a la carte. This is not downtown Minneapolis, and yes, we have been to Seven Steakhouse and paid much higher pricing. Would do that all day long compared to the ambiance and service at Crooners.

Service was mediocre. Food was good overall, but the bearnaise sauce that came with my steak was cold and tasted like it was from a mix and not homemade. At a supper club they only offered one steak, which was a NY Strip. It was ordered medium rare and came out medium well. The blue cheese stuffed olives were from a jar and not fresh and the server didn't pour the wine after the corking and tasting. That's fine at a chain restaurant, but if you're not there for the music then it's a huge failure.

The food was good, not great. Could have had a broader steak selection - it was limited to a NY strip and steak frites. We shared a chop salad that was quite good. Ambiance would have been better were we not next to the kitchen door. Probably not worth the $115 for two people. I would like to go again and sit in the lounge where the music is.

The main dining room had a retirement party, the bar room and lakeside room had live music and I was not aware of the need to make reservations for one of the shows (was not an option on Opentable) We were sat pretty quickly even though. Lots of gluten free options, which was great. My friend had the Steak and Frites, which she really liked. I had the Broiled Walleye but it seemed as though it was steamed, not broiled? It was lacking seasoning which is not uncommon when ordering Gluten Free (I'll never figure this one out, butter, salt & pepper can do wonders). I appreciate the concern over making sure the meal was gluten free, just wish there was a little more thought to the seasoning.

I would give Crooner's another shot though because of the plentiful options for GF meals.

Very friendly and efficient wait staff. The owner stopped by and chatted with us which was nice. They had a big wedding party in the Lakeside room and watching the staff flow in and out of the kitchen serving those tables was impressive. Even more impressive is the timing of our food intermingled with an obviously large order didn't miss a beat (pun intended). Pencil asparagus as a side were tender and delicious but I would loved to have more green sides choices like broccoli or brussel sprouts, other than mash or fries. Thoughtful and diverse wine list. A good experience we'll repeat next time we're in town.

Disappointed-We arrived, and were seated at the wrong table. They moved us and we waited and waited and waited for a server. We were the only couple in the entire place. It was ridiculous, people running into the backs of our chairs. We left without watching the show that we PAID for. Never again!

This was my first visit to Crooners. I had been to the former restaurant (Shorewood Inn), but that literally was decades ago. It is a jazz music / dinner theatre theme. We only dined and did not attend the music venue. Food was good, service was fair. I would be willing to give it another try.

We joined friends here to eat an early supper. Happy hour was until 6pm so we enjoyed reduced priced drinks. Food was outstanding! Walleye was fixed with a crusted outer layer and was moist and delicious. The Italian sausage/ pasta dish was enough to feed 2 people and very tasty. My spinach/beet salad was huge and very, very good. Because we had a birthday boy amongst our group, he received a decadent piece of chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Our server, Donna, was outstanding. We will definitely go back to try more dinners and listen to the jazz music. Very enjoyable evening.

I had 5 people in my party for dinner and they tried to seat us at a table for 4 people, stating they would add another chair. Good heavens the table for 4 with drinks, apps and then dinner was barely adequate for 4 and would have been untenable for 5. I told the host that it was not acceptable, I had made a reservation for 5 and the restaurant should have not accepted it if they did not have accommodations for 5. He had to go get permission! to move two tables together.
I ordered Salmon med rare and it came well done.
Service was slow due to our reservation at 6 with the show following at 7:30 PM/ need better trained helpers for their food service staff, brought out a Caesar salad without a pepper grinder, and when asked he said he did not know if they had that, he asked, he found it, and then he just set in on our table!!

The atmosphere was very nice , elegant. The food and drink was very good , we had a seafood boil for an appetizer and scallops for an entrée, both were very interesting and very tasty. The service and wait staff were great. Crowd was a little loud for the style of music . We were very pleased and will certainly go back soon .

Crooners has changed into a music venue! Gone is the central bar, the great gathering spot, and in place are white draped tables. Seats approx 200 now. On stage is always great entertainment but loud, no matter where you may be seated in the room. No, not advisable for conversation. That would be before or after the sets. Great food, though. Minimal Happy Hour menu. Burgers are always a great call. As well as the walleye and prime rib. Short rib sliders were more pot roast-y than ribs. Pretty solid, not soft with gravy. Cheese sauce was also on them. Umm ...why? The fish tacos got raves; as did...the beet salad. Mary's Chocolate cake, fabulous! Order one for the table. Little goes long way! Our server was the best part of the dinner. Funny, efficient and definitely a pro. A show unto herself. Would we go back? Sure. It is a neighborhood spot. Would not sit in the main room because you cannot have a conversation there; but in the Desmond room. No direct music on certain nights, however even with the door closed to the main room, there is just the right decibel of music.

The Crooner's experience was fabulous--everything from food to the attentive service to the setting--made for a special evening. It turned out that my dinner partner had taken her husband to the restaurant before and he was jealous that he was not part of the experience that night.

I encouraged her to take the music calendar for Crooners so she could share with her husband and return with him.

The only disappointment was that I had noted that my guest and I were celebrating Leo birthdays (july/august) when I made the reservation on open table, but there was no mention of it. Why ask if there is no follow through?

We are having my daughters wedding reception at Crooners in late August, and my wife hasn't been to the establishment. Our Anniversary is early August, so she asked if we could have dinner there to tie all things together.
5PM Early dinner and we left just as the music started, but great service and care was taken to make sure we enjoyed our date night out.
Chef's complimentary desert to boot.
Recommend this to all my friends and family for a nice peaceful night out.

Ordered my prime rib "medium rare", it came "medium well...sent it back. They replaced it quickly. The prime rib was PERFECT! The other three people ordered Chicken pot pies, they were generous portions and tasty. HOWEVER...every side dish on all four plates, was cold or room temperature at best...from my au jus to my mashed potatoes to the wild rice served with the pot pies. Even the vegetable of the night, asparagus was cold...inexcusable!!!! We have been to Crooners several times, and one other time, my wife ordered the extra charge au gratin potatoes, which came cold. How difficult is it for the chef and his minions to make sure that the entire meal is served hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you have the nerve to charge an extra $6 for a basket of four slices of bread, with no salad included with the meal, one would hope that the rest of the meal would be PERFECT!!!

Early (5:30 p.m.) dinner on a Friday with family. Cocktails were excellent, as was the poutine appetizer. Prime rib was healthy portion, and the cheeseburger was great (with a side of the "best tater tots ever"). However, four small scallops portion was very meager for the relatively-expensive price point and the wild rice was mushy and warm, not hot. Creme brule was grainy in texture and only mildly rich. We had a terrific meal about 2 months ago so will be willing to try again.
