Loved the Crompton Ale House!! We were in town for a college tour of FIT with our daughter and stayed directly across the street from the Crompton Ale House. I noticed the restaurant our first evening there. It was the lighting that caught my eye. The ambience was stunningly beautiful. Once inside the beauty continued. What an astonishing beautiful old building.
The service was great and the food was delicious!
The food was excellent and the service was as well. Went for dinner after a ranger game. Owner was very nice. Came over and introduced himself and made you feel real at home. Definitely be there again and recommend to friends.
Great ambiance, great staff, lively crowd. Food was good and not very expensive.
Food was fine but the ambiance and noise level are definitely not for people of a mature age level. Not conducive to talking. And all those TVs tuned into sports events. Ugh
It was extremely loud, hard to order to server.
Great food. Service terrible. Asked for water 3 times. A different worker got it finally for us. She didn’t act like she wanted to wait on us. Cool looking place too.
Great place for a drink or lunch...good food, service and atmosphere.Eould recommend Crompton,s
The food was awesome but the service needed some help. Forgot many things and never did get my thousand island dressing but would go back because the food was worth it
The Cadillac burger and guac was delicious!!
We would have never ordered or gotten food if we didn't annoy the waiters. Food was fine. I think they cared more about the bar attenders more than us, didn't feel great
Noise level may not be accurate, we went at 8pm on a Tuesday... at busier times it may be worse. The food was excellent though, very flavorful and tasty, restaurant was clean and cozy, and it was Very reasonably priced for the quality, especially in the city.
Definitely recommend it if you're in the lower midtown area. 👍🏼👍🏼
Horrible food. Do not eat here. Everything was either under cooked or burned. There was 8 of us for brunch. It was terrible.
Stick to drinks only at this place.
Good bar food, excellent service, cocktails and beer selection. A step up from typical “pubs”
We were a party of 8 and we ordered appetizers. Guacamole was addictive, pigs in blanket flaky and hearty , flatbread pizza came with homemade cheese. We were stuffed. PLenty of tv's with sports playing we were lucky and got a window seat. Free street parking. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were greta, with private stalls and communal sink. We had a great time
Great food, great atmosphere and great ownership! Nothing negative to say about this place. Take a trip to Crompton, you won’t be disappointed.
service was amazing and the food was great! We ordered a few rounds of shots that seemed to be very small amount in the shot glass for the money. Besides that the place was awesome!
The food was fantastic. Great upscale bar food and drinks for a reasonable price. The location is interesting, decorated like a library.
Always a great spot! Never disappoints. Perfect neighborhood spot. Nice beer selection too.
Family of four-very accommodating, prompt, excellent service. Food arrived quickly, was tasty. Generous portions. A great option for casual dining.
Birreria molto carina anche se un po’ rumorosa...,cibo molto buono e ottima birra.
Such a great time, service was amazing. Food was great. Thankful we've found a great neighborhood spot. Keep up the great work!
Grabbed an early dinner before a late night flight from JFK. Dinner was fine, but nothing outstanding. Service was fine, but nothing outstanding. Prices, for NYC, were reasonable. Because it was very early (5:30) on a rainy Sunday evening, it was quiet for conversation, which was the best part of the experience. Not a place I’d return to, nor recommend - not because it was bad, because it was nothing out of the ordinary.
Food was tasteful and service was excellent. Decent prices for Manhattan with a varied menu.
Service was incredibly slow for a half full random Wednesday night. Food was decent.
Great food and staff terrific prices too Thank you
We were staying in NJ and meeting friends that live in NYC for dinner. I’ve been here previously for lunch and wanted my husband and daughter to experience it. My teenage daughter loved the atmosphere with the books and candles on the walls to the 80’s music that was playing. My husband liked the beer and food selection. Our friends in NYC frequently come here, so I knew it would be a perfect spot for all of us. Our food was delicious. The service was attentive and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Very nice inside. Staff was super friendly. We went for brunch at noon on a Sunday and it was dead which made our service super quick and attentive. It was nice to have a quiet quick place for brunch and to be able to chat with the bar tender. I feel like people are missing out on this as a fun brunch option. Maybe it was an off day?
It hit the spot after attending the Rachael Ray show taping earlier in the morning. The front end manager checked in on us numerous times and made us feel welcome.
First visit after attending Rachael Ray Show. Food was delicious, and service was excellent!
The service was fantastic and the food very good. I ate lunch there during a weekday and it was very quiet which was wonderful for a business conversation. It has a lot of TVs and that constantly run sports shows and reruns. The value for the food is excellent, the food tasty, I had a burger, my luncheon partner had a turkey club - huge - and excellent. I recommend it. Don't know what it's like on gameday, but worth a shot!
This was so-so....the salad came drenched in balsamic vinegar; the fish & chips were blah. The waitress asked us what "full bodied" meant when we asked her to recommend an ale or beer with that characteristic. It wasn't terrible, just not memorable or delicious.
Night out before a concert at the Garden
Good time! Good food! Good beer!
Met some friends here for brunch and really enjoyed it. The omelets were delicious and the guys enjoyed the tap beers and burgers.
Our party of 10 was greeted warmly upon arrival. We had a reservation but were advised we’d have to wait for a while as the place was packed and everyone was watching the football game which wasn’t over for awhile. No biggie. We drank at the bar until our table was ready. The manger updated us often and ensured we were satisfied. Great beer selection and well prepared and presented pub fare. Excellent wings, Brussels sprouts, calamari and poutine. Chicken sandwiches and burgers were spot on. Fab fries too! Would definitely return. Highly recommended!
My friends and I met here for dinner on New Year's Eve. They were staying at the Hilton hotel across the street, so it was a perfect find. We ordered appetizers (3 for $33) and their house ale, and we were pleased! The service was friendly and efficient. What we loved most was the decor - the bookshelves made the aura very warm and happy, and their holiday additions of lights and holly made it all the more welcoming!
Service was poor. We ordered all our food at one time because we had been sitting at the table waiting for so long. The app never came at all, and when our food was given to us, the sever stated he never put in the order for the app. Long wait time for drinks. Long wait time on check to pay. Food was ok.
Fabulous corned beef hash!! And great mimosas! It was perfect for brunch, had all the sports on tv!
I've been to Crompton's for dinner, drinks, and now, brunch. Each time the service is good, the food is great and the atmosphere is fun. The ceiling are high so you don' have that tight, close feel that a lot of bars in NYC suffer from. The place is clean and the servers are fun and efficient. This trip we went for brunch on a Saturday. The place was relatively empty, but it slowly filled with the lunch crowd. We ordered endless mimosa's and they were definitely endless. They were more champagne than OJ which is exactly how we like them! The food was absolutely excellent. I had the best pancakes EVER. My girls had a variety of items including pigs in a blanket (sausages), the skillet breakfast and one even had a burger. Everyone loved their meal.
The breakfast was pricey when you include the $19 pp charge on top of the food for the endless mimosa's but, hey, if you want endless, you gotta pay for it!
I would highly recommend Crompton's for brunch on Saturday or Sunday. We've been elsewhere, but Crompton's food far surpassed the brunches we have been to in the past in NYC.
They accommodated us even when our whole party wasn’t there- and running late!!! Our service was amazing at first but then the servers changed shift and our second server was noticibly less attentive. But over all, everything was fantastic! The food was perfect- I ordered a salad with steak (cooked rare) and the steak came out perfect!
