Croc's 19th Street Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The food was OK. Our waitress was HORRIBLE. She forgot to take our order AND she forgot to put our order in. We were the last guesses to receive food. Almost at the end of the show. We asked for our check and she handed me the book and said our checks are in there and made us distribute amongst each other. The drag brunch show was OK. I've been attending year's for 5 years. Nothing has changed. The show definitely needs new performers. I won't be back. Was disappointed along with my guests who were there with me to celebrate my new addition expected in January.
My party of 7 dined the evening after Thanksgiving. They were not busy as I epected on Black Friday ans we were seated promptly. Our server was helpful and friendly. My crabcake with risotto was excellent as usual. The other 6 were all delighted with their meals. The grilled caesar was great also. No room or desert, but maybe next time.
I like that we could get some entrees in half-size orders. Everything is made to order. Fresh ingredients. The food was fine, I had the tabouleh salad and half order of shrimp and grits. Husband had the grilled Caesar salad with grilled salmon and bacon. It was a Sunday night, really quiet. The atmosphere/décor is very dark; everything is black. Not appealing at all. Looks like some updates are needed; things looked worn. I had the feeling of it being a bit dirty.
We went for the Drag Yourself to Brunch which was fun and funny and a must do at least once in your life!
I don't think the food was well represented during Brunch, the menu was limited and it takes quite a while to get your food some seemed not quite warm by time delivered (they're serving the whole restaurant at one sitting)
I would try again for dinner as the wider menu seems lovely and I think the food was better than we experienced - for example we got the hot crab dip everyone raves over and it was just ok.
Also it is EXTREMELY loud, way louder than the music needed to be in such a small venue, bring ear plugs if today don't want ringing ears for a couple hours after!
The food wasn't good. The shrimps were rubbery and over cooked. The grits were under cooked and hard. The gravy was watery and bland. Open table should also make it clear that the Sunday brunch is really a tawdry drag show so out of towners don't blunder into the tasteless, crass exhibition. Hated it
It really depends on your mood! The noise level made it extremely difficult to communicate with the servers. I would try a different menu item if I were to return because the the bananas foster French toast was not the best. The DJ was awesome and entertaining and the performers were energetic.
We went for the drag show brunch. The entertainment was great. The food was good. The service was wonderful. My only gripe..the music was way too loud. I left with a screaming head ache. Our table has a good time but we couldn't hear each other.
Turn down the volume and I'll be back.
I went to the Drag Queen Brunch and really had a blast. It was so much fun and the Queens were amazing. The only issues I really had was the music was kinda loud so it was hard to talk to the people at my table and my eggs were a bit bland, but besides that it was awesome. I would highly recommend it!!
I was there on a Sunday for Drag Yourself to Brunch. It was a blast! The show was wonderful, but maybe a little long. I would shorten the program down to 90 minutes (we were there 2 1/2 hours). Also, it was incredibly noisy; almost impossible to talk to your friends. The food for brunch was average. But we were there for the show, and it was outstanding! Good prices on both the meal and the drinks. We enjoyed our time there.
Frequent customer for the Drag Yourself to Brunch on Sundays. Every experience is enhanced surrounded by friends and family. If you are timid, feel free to enjoy lunch or dinner and not the live show for brunch. If you are outgoing and open minded, the Drag Yourself to Brunch experience is legendary!
