We have been here before and it's usually very busy and kind of noisy, as you would expect. Three of us had dinner there on a Sunday night....much quieter! Our hostess set us at a table and it wasn't long before that area became very noisy. As the restaurant had some empty tables I asked if we could be moved to a quieter table. Our server, Andrea, was superb in getting a new table for us and just being as nice as could be! (it wasnt even in her area!!). Our dinner time was nice and relaxing and we could hear each other (yes we're a little older and that's important!!). The wait staff was excellent and the food was good, as it has been before! We will keep it on the list.
Did not stay to eat... the server was nice, but knew nothing about any of the beers or beverages.
The pizza was so greasy we could not eat more than 2 bites. Cobb salad was not flavorful but was fresh. The Calamari was fresh and very tasty. The jalapeños gave it just the right amount of spice. They were over battered for my taste
This is a find. We really enjoyed the pizza and craft beer selection. Nice service and outdoor setting to relax. Very casual. Definitely plan on going back and would recommend.
I love coming here! the atmosphere, service and food is always amazing. The prices are worth it, and so is the drive (if you don’t live near the heights area).
We really had a nice dinner. The meatball appetizer was much tastier and bigger than expected! I got the salad with grilled chicken and it was large and delicious. My husband got pizza and said it was excellent. Our server was very nice - we will definitely be back .
There are no changing tables in the men’s bathroom, only in the women’s. I have pointed this out on multiple occasions over several years. The management refuses to install a changing table in the men’s bathroom. Dads are parents, too.
Thank you for being a loyal Crisp guest. We do take feedback seriously, and based on comments about a lack of a changing table, we installed one in the men's room over a year ago...it's in the last stall, as that was the only wall space that permitted the installation. Cheers!
The lights over the table had so much dust I was worried it would fall into my food! ! I mean a dusting is beyond needed! I would have said something then but I was being treated, so I didn’t want to be rude.
Pizza was excellent!
We didn’t realize there wasn’t a full bar. The bottle of white wine we ordered wasn’t cold. The asparagus was incredibly salty. The waitress didn’t know much about the menu items and how they tasted.
This was not what I expected. Poor service. Not really attentive to our table needs. Food took a long time coming to the table only to get it lukewarm. What I ordered was not what was expected when it arrived. I ordered short ribs which I thought would come to the table with a bone. What I received appeared to be a big honk of roast. My other party wasn't happy with their meals either. Waiter got loss. Took forever to come back with our tickets. Not a place I would return.
The service was very slow, and the waitress inattentive. The food also took a long time to come out.
Two of the three entries ordered at our table were undercooked - salmon and beef tips. The salmon was ordered well done and was raw in places. The steak was ordered medium and it was definitely rare. We ordered an appetizer but it was delivered to our table late & only minutes before our undercooked entries arrived. I've eaten at Crisp before but I was definitely disappointed this visit!
Very enjoyable meal!
Service was slow but the food was awesome! Live music made it hard to hold a decent conversation but overall worth it for the food. Definitely coming back for brunch!
Crisp is essentially a bar with food as an afterthought. My table ordered three menu items. Each of them had enough salt that, principally in the case of the "veggie frito misto" they were practically inedible. The gnocchi had so much gorgonzola cheese sauce, that it was essentially a casserole of macaroni and cheese. The beer selection is great, and wines are tasty. So come for the bar, go somewhere else to eat.
Will go back, had a great time, good environment and the food was spot on. Enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu, had something for everyone. A couple of missteps on service, but nothing too big. Great place for wine & beer drinkers. Somewhat envious of those who live close by to have such a great place to go within walking distance. Big plus is if you don't want to valet, plenty of on street parking.
Terrible Houston Restaurant Week menu. Food was just terrible and waitress spilled the crab bisque on top of one of us at the table. Drenched in bisque and the manager did not even take that off our bill. More than that the food was literally horrible. Will never go back.
This was our first time at Crisp and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. The service was top notch and our food was absolutely delicious. There was even live music on Saturday evening which we also enjoyed. We will most definitely be back!
Definitely isn’t the first time and it definitely won’t be the last their great. Food is delicious
First time eating here. It was an excellent choice. We will be back.
It was good food. The waiter could have been nicer.
We always look forward to gathering at Crisp. The menu has several healthy choices, is always fresh and creative. They have several beers on tap as well as some wines. If you don't like those wines, they have several bottled to select. The service has always been great with a friendly experienced server.
We plan on being back later this week. Yep, we really like the place!
Crisp has a fun vibe and a lot of variety on the menu. I think I simply chose the wrong dish. The Handmade Gnocchi featuring Beef Tenderloin Tips, Herbed Mushrooms, Organic Spinach and Gorgonzola Cream doesn't mention that it's covered with a huge glop of cheese. I know glop is not a word but it's descriptive of how it looked and tasted. The dish was fairly flavorless and very heavy for summer. If I go back, I will try pizza.
Good food and service. However, the whole place could do with a make over. Looking a bit tired and worn.
It was just okay, definitely nothing special. I had brunch with some friends and the location is great because we all live in the Heights. I had the Crisp's Brewers Breakfast and it was just flapjacks (pancakes) scrambled eggs, their version of hashbrowns, sausage, maple syrup and butter. Nothing special or fancy, just breakfast. This was a Saturday at noon and there were several people eating and the noise level was very loud! This was not my first time and probably not my last. Not my first choice but if it is suggested, I am okay with going back.
Great happy hour specials. Pizza was amazing. Had the risotto ball appetizer but it wasn’t that tasty. Server we had was amazing and spot on with service. Good place to meet friends
I got there a little early for my reservation sat at the bar and enjoyed a glass of wine. Happy Hour prices are really good. They had live music which was so much better than a playlist or “pandora” list. I will be going back really soon for sure
This is our go to for girls' night. We absolutely love Crisp!
Had HH & dinner in bar area. Each wait staff who stopped at our table was good. Our waiter Carlos was exceptional. Food was delicious. Only "negative" was that near us, sitting at the bar, were 2 cute young boys with their drinks in plastic cups, talking, up & down off the stools, hanging on each other playfully - but AT THE ADULT BAR.! The manager & other employees interacted in a familiar way with them. The place was busy at tables, at the bar were a few. Please, keep children off the bar stools area. It should be the adults space, only. Please!
We always enjoy our experience at Crisp. The staff is always excellent. Aaron was attentive, patient and helpful. He alone gets 5 stars!
Food was great! We were a dinner for four and everyone one of us loved our meals! Cool atmosphere inside, good beer and wine list, will definitely be going back!
Had a table for 2 reserved but two other friends decided to join us. Crisp didn't blink an eye (on a very busy night) to find a place for us, and with a smile. The food was great and the service even better. Doney (?) is terrific
Every thing was great, except it was very, very, loud. We even went at 6:15 to avoid the noise, but still had to leave the restaurant to talk.
This used to be one of my favorite go-to's!! Went for father's day and it took almost 20 minutes to get water brought to the table! We watched two other tables get seated, water, and drink orders taken.
We finally asked and a new waitress came out of the restaurant saying "Sorry, I didn't see ya'll!" The part I'm annoyed with is we saw at least three other waiters out there and not one paid a lick of attention or bothered to tell the waitress we were there.
We ordered the crab cakes and about 15 minutes later, she came back and said "We're out". Ordered the eggs benedict and was underwhelmed at the plating and serving size- no sides.
Mimosas were tasty, but we will not be back for a while. Sad.
We ordered lasagna and the meatball duet. Food was exquisite.
We were pleasantly surprised about this place! Kid friendly, we will be bringing our son back! The food was amazing and the service was great!
The eggs Benedict was delicious.
My only negative was the table two down from us was so loud. The female and younger child's voices could probably cut thru concert so it was difficult for me to hear my date.
