Our food was served rather quickly, however, the bacon was cold. Our waiter tried to be attentive, but he seemed to have too many tables to serve. All in all, not the best experience we’ve had at Criollo.
The food was amazing. It is a little on the pricey side but it worth it. The quality of ingredients was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be going again very soon.
This place was a very special treat. Service was on point, food was delicious and ambience was what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Will most certainly be back.
We LOVED our dinner - we saved Criollo for our last night of our girls getaway. We wanted to share an appetizer - but unfortunately they were all seafood. Two of us are allergic to seafood. We asked if the Chef might have something he could prepare as an alternative - and we were told no. We were not upset - as we realize we were asking beyond the ordinary...but perhaps a non-seafood appetizer available would be nice. The steaks were delicious - and the dessert was Strawberry Beignet. Delicious!
Stayed at the hotel for our staycation honeymoon. The staff at this restaurant treated us like royalty! Definitely recommending to all couples.
Food was disappointing. No semblance of individual or distinct flavors. May as well have put everything in a blender. Fantastic venue. Great drinks. Below average food.
Good food and convenient location. Really enjoyed the breakfast selection and the beignets and praline sauce!
Mother/daughter trip
Our server was OUTSTANDING. Great service, wonderful friendly personality. All staff great, food top notch. GO!
Great location for dinner the restaurant is connected to the caresoul bar and a convenient location to many things. Our food was good. Lots of social
Life in this location
I think Criollo is an underappreciated New Orleans restaurant. We come here about once a month for Sunday brunch, people-watching and to hang out in the French Quarter. The food is very good, and more healthful than in many New Orleans restaurants. There is always a salmon dish which is very good, although the preparation changes to incorporate seasonal ingredients. The gumbo is quite good and I'm a fan of the salads. The atmosphere is calm and upscale. My one complaint is that they don't seem able to hang on to servers. We rarely have the same server more than a couple of times. On occasion, this impacts the quality of the experience. Hopefully, the restaurant can address this problem and the experience will be wholly wonderful.
My birthday
Daily special egg benedict special. Need I say more? Wonderful food and incredible service!! Q made my 86 year old father feel like "king for a day" on his birthday. Truly a special place!!
Hope I get back to New Orleans soon. Craving the crab stuffed Red Fish
We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. This was our first visit to NOLA. We had read reviews and checked menus. We could not get reservations at a big name resturant which was our first choice. This was our second choice, and boy are we glad it worked out the way it did. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, everything was perfect. Could not have asked for a better experience.
Thank you Criollo!
The service was prompt and responsive. The food was average. The gumbo needed better seasoning/flavor and my entree was lukewarm. The fixed the entree issue but why was that even an issue to begin with. Stuffed shrimp entree was better after sent back
Very Very Loud in Restaurant. Menu was not good at all.
Quality of the food was excellent, and service was as well. We had the shrimp, crab, and avocado stack apetizer (inventive and tasty), and the filet with shrimp and scallop for entree, bread pudding for dessert. Steaks were cooked correctly, it was a great evening
Our server, Ina, was fantastic! The staff made sure that my request for Prosecco was ready as soon as we were seated. The food was delicious - service was spot on. Made our anniversary celebration a happy one!
The food was delicious but the noise level from the adjacent bar was outrageously loud. A couple privacy screens were useless. We would have walked out to eat elsewhere if we didn’t have to meet others after our dinner.
The Criollo is a beautiful restaurant in a landmark hotel. The service was excellent, but the food did not live up to the expectation. The snapper was overdone and dry. My husband had the stuffed red fish and the dish was too sweet for his taste but cooked well. We will stick to the lovely bar area next time and continue to enjoy the hotel.
Had a great time! Food and service were awesome! We will be back!!!
Lovely atmosphere and good service. The food was very nice but we thought it was slightly overpriced however the cost seemed normal when comparing to similar places in America.
Enjoyed dinner here over Mardi Gras. It was my friend's birthday and they were kind enough to bring her a dessert. The food was good, but not good enough to justify the price. Ambiance is nice, but we were left at the hostess stand for ten minutes or so before someone finally came to seat us.
Food was sub par. I ordered the redfish and the presentation was terrible. The cheese on top was hardened and the meal was not hot when received
Had a great meal and experience
The 3 Shrimp on my stuffed shrimp meal were extremely over-done. We picked this place because of the reviews, but I’m now wondering if they are just living off the name of the hotel...
Very good food and drinks! They were out of a sparkling wine I wanted, but the food and ambiance was AMAZING!
We had brunch here and I wish we had the chance to have a dinner as well. Brunch was well done with nice variety. Service was excellent.
Gumbo, crab and avocado stack and the Pimm’s cup were excellent!
Great, fresh food!
Decent place. The portions are tasty but small and expensive. So if you aren't too hungry and have cash to burn then go here!
The redfish was old, the shrimp were like rubber and the chef seemed to be annoyed with our presence.
Overpriced, and with so many other options, I won’t be back
Trip to New Orleans
Breakfast here is worth the price!
The daily benedict is fantastic. Especially thursday w/ shrimp&crab fritter under perfect poached eggs.
If beignets are your thing, Criollo’s are actually better than Cafe du Monde; not quite as big but more delicate, more ‘french’, and the dipping sauce with strawberries makes them unsurpassed.
Nothing beats the ambiance of this lovely hotel decor. A true vacation spot with a restaurant that compliments the hotel’s fine quality.
Our Christmas dinner! Every thing we had from appetizer through dessert was outstanding!
Great waiter- awesome food
Great food and service will return.
We had breakfast 2 days on a weekend. The food and the service were great. The mimosas were also very good.
Fair (at best) service. Had to ask and wait a while for a coffee refill. Fruit plate ordered for before our breakfast came out after. Food was good and it was a beautiful setting.
