Crescent City Brewhouse Ratings and Reviews
Had a quick lunch here while working in the area. Gumbo was good and the bowl was a reasonable amount for lunch on its own if you are not too hungry. Looks like it would be a good bar for after dinner. There is a nice space upstairs and a few tables on the balcony.
We visited the restaurant for my 40th birthday. The hostess seated us beside the serving station in the back of the restaurant. We couldn't hear the band and listened to servers discuss customers. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was good. Oysters were excellent. Salad with shrimp was small and I was still hungry after the entree. We tried the beer sampler. The seasonal beer was out. The other 5 beers were good.
The server was great, the food was not good. The BLT was on a burnt roll, the French fries and skirt steak was served on a plate with lemon juice, the duck dish was ok. The gumbo was waterey with no sausage or meat and my husband was sick all night after the gumbo.
Had a great time eating dinner in their outdoor court yard. They sat us near the fireplace which was nice as it was a cooler evening. I got the beer sampler and all 6 brews were great examples of each of their styles. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in New Orleans.
We had a large group for a birthday party. The server continued to up the price by suggesting add ons to each person ‘s selection. She would say, “would you like to add gumbo to that?” Etc. She would not bring a birthday cake without a special order. She did not refill water glasses but always brought drinks right away. The prices seemed to be very high for a casual place. I️ am guessing many would call this place a “tourist trap “. The worst thing was that they added 18 percent gratuity to the bill and did not give us a chance to express our annoyance with this waiter through the tip. I️ will only go back to drink the beer. That was very good.
This food was a disappointment. No one in our party of 9 likes anything that they ordered, with the exception of the boudin ball appetizer. I personally ordered a pivot and it tasted like chemicals. The fries on the side were so hard and over cooked I couldn't eat them. The drinks were terrible as well. Over all I was embarrassed for bring my friends there with the experience we all had. I am not sure if it was an off night or this is all of the time. All I will say is eat at your own risk.
Went for Coolinary menu. The food was better than I expected and our server was great.
Disappointed that they only had 5 out of the 6 beers available when we got there. At the end of our meal, I overheard the waitress at another table say that they were down to 4 beers. Seems like poor planning to have run out of 1/3 of the options, especially considering it's a brewhouse.
We ate off the coolinary menu (fixed price for 3 courses in august...ask your waitress). The redfish st. Louis was delicious & fresher tasting than most heavily sauced things you get in nola. I would definitely get that again. Their beers were good as well. Live jazz was great as well. I Definitely recommend this place and I've eaten at lots of quarter restaurants.
Server spilled hot gumbo on me ruining a pair of fairly new shorts. Gave me some soda water some 10 minutes later and a credit on my check for the cost of a $15 dish that didn't come close to the cost of my banana republic shorts. I am a local and will not likely be returning.
