Tasty dishes, creatively prepared. Our server was friendly and helpful. We were able to have a quiet conversation with no loud parties nearby. A very nice neighborhood bistro.
The crep with Brie was too salty. The music playing was not matching the ambience.
My husband and I went to the restaurant for Valentine's day. Our first date was at a French restaurant and this place brought back those fond memories. Great food and great service. Anxious to bring my friends to try out their weekend brunch!
This restaurant is becoming one of our favorite go-to restaurants. The food is phenomenal! Last night we had the hanger steak (with an incredible sauce, sautéed onions and pomme frites) and the lamb chops w/ratatouille and au gratin potatoes-delicious! We started with the greek and caprese salads. The attention to detail is over-the-top. Definitely try the fresh baked bread. Our server, Scott, was super friendly, made great food recommendations and was on-top of everything! Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Great jazz trio Thursday nights really nice addition to this already atmospheric boîte. Always tasty French cuisine.
Good take on French fare. Depending on your level of claustrophobia, you either find this place cozy or cramped.
This was our first visit. It was so good we plan to go back this week!
A nice, fairly quiet, good French restaurant. Seafood crepes are wonderful.
My Food was excellent
We had an 11am brunch reservation and when we got there they were not open and NO ONE was there until 11:05. (After being told outside by who I assume was the owner that someone would be there to open the door any minute mind you. ) when getting inside we noticed not all tables had been cleared from the previous night so we sat at the one clean table. It took 10 minutes to get a cup of hot tea and a water. Then the only waiter in the restaurant continued to fold napkins even after seeing another friend of ours show up instead of asking what drink she would like. The whole experience was odd. We were the only ones in there and there was no music on so it was completely silent unless we were speaking. Food once we got it was good but overall the experience was just disappointing. I had high hopes for this place
hadn't eaten at the Cafe in many years, decided to take advantage of Restaurant Week. Our meal was over the top. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Came for restaurant week and they did not have the advertised menu which was disappointing since we selected the restaurant based off this menu. The food is good but I think I was too disappointed to recover from the menu not matching the as advertised menu.
Poor food , lacked butter and flavor. The crepes Suzette lacked Grand Mariner.
We will not return nor recommend it to our friends!
I was introduced to a great wine I had never tried before and it was fantastic!
My wife and I dine here often, the food is always excellent and consistent. We always appreciate the attentive waiters and the owner is friendly and oversees the house from the sidelines. I’m sure we will return in a week or two, we always do.
Waitress was very pleasant - bar was bizarre out of everything and brought wrong beer after describing it for a detailed long time. Need a bus person not enough help.
Think I am done with trying to go out on Xmas eve
Had a wonderful first visit to Le Bistro du Village. Our server, Theresa, was wonderful - she gave great recommendations, was very personable and attentive. She made our visit that much more special. The food was delicious - the French onion soup was wonderful and I really enjoyed the Poulet Toulubaisse (sp?) My husband the vegetable soup with the special duck dish, and he said it was amazing. We will definitely return and ask for Theresa for our server!
Everything was delicious! I tried a seafood and puff pastry appetizer and the coq au vin, and my boyfriend had the duck confit. Both were amazing. Their creme brûlée was incredible. I would recommend this place to anyone ready to indulge in amazing French cuisine.
Had a horrible waiter. Food unacceptable owner defended the poor food choice ( gluten free crepe) meal cold dessert crepe beyond abysmal would never go back. This was opposite my first experience which was great
Love it here!
We have been going to 'Le Bistro Du Village' for many years and it has become our 'go- to spot' for birthdays, anniversaries, New year's Eve and just to catch up with friends. In summer we sit out front or on their back patio - love the fact there is 'al fresco' dining.
Not only are food and service always great, but you can actually carry on a conversation with friends without shouting - an absolute rarity in restaurants!
Bistro du Village offers excellent French cuisine in a lovely setting. A real find!
Absolutely delicious meal!! The service was excellent. Will be back soon!
Came here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and it was great. We started with the onion soup---you haven't had French onion soup until you've had it here! Our crepes were delicious as well, and the creme brulee was a perfect end to our meal. Will come back again for sure!
Mom's 90th birthday. We ask her what she'd like to do. She wants the mussels and profiteroles she's come to enjoy at this family favorite. It's close, quiet and pleasant, after all. We fly in from California and drive in from Virginia, arrive at 7pm, not exactly late into the evening, and settle in as the rain starts outside. A good night for a long celebratory dinner. Mussels? Sorry, we've run out. Nice start. We decide to stay anyway and order drinks. A nice glass of Sancerre from the menu? Sorry, we're out of Sancerre. We proceed -- it's not like moving Mom at this point is easy. We get through our meals and are eager to order dessert. Profiteroles? We're out of them. Our waiter was great but, clearly, the kitchen let us and him down. We will be elsewhere for 91.
Perfect menu and service for get together with friends. Easy access for seniors and charm for all ages.
I went there of a whim with two friends for brunch and loved it. The waitress was amazing and very knowledgeable about the money. Restaurant had great ambiance.
The food is excellent! The crepes are definitely big enough to share. I can’t wait to return to try something new because everything on the menu sounded delicious.
We saw the new name on the front of the restaurant and thought we would give it a try. There are very few French Restaurants in the area.
The reviews had been very good online.
Should have had a clue when there was only two other tables seated when we arrived.
My wife asked for her ribeye special rare with nothing on it (mushrooms, sauce , and seasoning. What she got was a burnt New Yorker Strip that came out with everything on it. I had the Duck Confit special with spinach and potatoes. The leg and thigh were done perfectly but the breast was beyond rare.I’m not sure it was even cooked! Our server was very apologetic and said that the chef prepares the food his way and sometimes can be very difficult. She told the chef our experience. He came out and said “I did the best I could “ and that the steak was rare when he took it off the grill. He offered to make her a new one “to take home”. We told him , “no thank you” , that we just wanted the check. He then said give me your check and I will take care of the bill. I assumed he was going to comp us for the steak. Instead he took off the glass of wine which to be honest was the only good thing about the meal or our experience. We will definitely not be going back!
Service was a little slow to start off but once started was excellent. The food we ordered was very, very good. The wine we selected was great.
