3 out of 4 plates were fine. My duck dish was not. It was overcooked, tough and lacked taste. Our 2 starters and my companion's pasta were much better. Wine by the glass was good size and quality.
Service was very nice, but dishese were too salty to me.
Very good food, pleasant atmosphere & friendly staff at a reasonable price
We had a lovely lunch as the staff were setting up for New Year's Eve. They could not have been nicer. It was a very pleasant experience. And we plan to go again.
The service was fantastic!! We were greeted as we walked in the door. The waiter was very attentive and friendly.
We decided to order dishes that we were out of our comfort zone to try something new. The waiter provided excellent wine selection advice, as well as meat preparedness suggestion.
We were also provided with an after dinner aperitif compliments of the house. Very unexpected, but much appreciated.
The overall experience was fabulous!! Will definitely come back, and recommend to friends.
Quality authentic French cooking. Conservative decor. Good service.
Excellent - great personal service
A hidden gem in Yorkville
We have been to this restaurant before and have had good experiences. This time, the place was hosting a wedding and with the exception of three tables, the entire restaurant was involved in the festivities. The wedding party was loud, singing in Latvian throughout the evening and as a result, we couldn't hear a thing. Although the food and service were good, the overall impression was terrible. We were introducing friends to this restaurant and they were so annoyed they would never come again. In my opinion, if you would like to host a wedding to the exclusion of three tables, CLOSE THE RESTAURANT FOR A PRIVATE EVENT. I feel ripped off, taken advantage of, and will NEVER GO BACK.
Joined some friends for diner. Entire place was staffed by only 2 people. Took quite a while for our initial drinks order to be taken. Mains were ordered and it took at least one hour for 4 meals to be prepared. Two of us had the roasted bass, and the portion size was shockingly small for $32. The servers were friendly and ambiance was good. Maybe it was an off nite for them, but I won't be returning.
Nice menu. Good service and most of all we could hear ourselves talk! Great ambiance.
A relaxed atmosphere with attentive service and very good food.
My friends and I had not seen each other for a long time, ad were given a quiet corner to get caught up. The food was delicious and the portion size appropriate. The selections were very good, covering a wide variety of tastes. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful at all times. We asked for separate bills, and that was no problem. They allowed us to linger over coffee (delicious!) at the end of the evening and even brought second helpings. A great find, and I will return!
Great food consistently. Service and ambiance also great. I would highly recommend Creme for lunch or dinner. In wArm weather patio is wonderful.
Nice ambiance, with friendly waiters. Comfortable seating. Onion soup is nice and cheesy with only a little bread (and that's good). Beef tartare is very good - chopped not g round, proper quails egg, good frites. Lamb shank was nicely braised and tasty. Salmon looked good. Good selection of wines by the glass.
Went on a rainy Thursday night. Not very busy. Escargot was very bland. Rack of lamb was one of the best I had in toronto. Get the lamb skip the escargot. Wine was good
The staff were simply superb - attentive, charming, adaptable, professional. The quality of food for a table of 20 was excellent (they had arranged a fixed-price three-course meal with two choices per course). Lovely ambiance, tucked away in a quiet and pretty courtyard. For the quality, I thought the price was very good.
This is a very pleasant place for good food and good service. I dined with a friend and I had a delicious duck and he has a very fine cut of beef prepared to perfection. The service was friendly; we were very content.
I had the heirloom gazpacho which was delicious and beautiful to look at with the yellow and red halves.
very professional staff and great tasting menu. Quiet place to have a conversation
Some wine and food not available even on the menu. The server is a bit careless in serving.
Just happened to go through the lane and discovered Creme Brasserie - what a gem. It is excellent in all aspects and I would recommend it to everyone. The service and food are both excellent - great atmosphere both inside and outside.
Poor service, chicken in salad was off.Disinterested service . Over priced.
I took friends for Summerlicious and to celebrate both of their birthdays. It was extremely busy and we felt a bit squished and noisy because everyone wanted to sit inside in the air conditioning. Service was a bit slow but the server was attentive in the end. I have been there twice before, so I know that that was an exception rather than a regular occurrence. The food was great, as usual.
My friend and I were there for Summerlicious lunch. We waited too long for our desserts to be served. We had to remind them twice. It took us 2 hrs to complete our lunch for this reason. Unacceptable!
One of Yorkville's best! Always reliable and never disappointing! Comfort food with a wonderfully french twist!
We are always on the look out for restaurants with nice food and a quiet ambiance so that we can chat. Not only were these provided - and the food was excellent - but the wait staff were kind enough to make themselves available when necessary while allowing us to chat for 2.5 hours. We are definitely going back and will be telling friends about it.
Coq au Vin was deep fried chicken tasting overwhelmingly of bacon. (This was hinted at on menu but still a disappointment. ) Bass was fishy to unpleasant degree & I love fish. Wine markups exorbitant.
Very wonderful! It has very nice feel inside and out. The people was very nice too.
Went for Summerlicious 2016 and had a very flavourful meal. The pineapple crepe was the hit! The location isn't ideal, as its tucked away amongst several buildings, but the food and service made up for it!
We tried the grilled pineapple crepe and it was delicious. The sea bass was very light and cooked perfectly. The courtyard was an added bonus and lovely to sit out during the summer time
Did the summerlicious with a friend. Like most participating restaurants, the appetizers were very basic. Just soup, salad, or crostini. However both were pretty good. Main dishes were great and were a sizable portion as well. I opted for the pineapple crepe for dessert which was very very good, and actually made my dinner worth it.
One thing to note, other than wine, it seemed there was not an extensive drink menu otherwise. The waiter said the restaurant can make anything I wanted when I asked for a drink menu. But when I asked for a mojito (pretty standard), he said they couldn't do it. Overall good food and good service.
A colleague and I went for Summerlicious. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and the food. Portion size was good.
The appetizer crostinis were amazeballs! I would definitely come back for them!
Fabulous sauces. Flavourful yet light. Have already recommended this place to friends.
Food and service were great, I would go back for both. They do need to visit their pricing for alcohol, so ask for pricing before you order that next drink !
Good, prompt service. Great fod and very good value as this was a Summelicious meal. Not overly noisy and so good conversation could be had. Though we didn't eat outside, there is a lovey cosy patio away from the street and in a quiet walkway.
Delicious food, lovely coutyard setting, excellent service even though the restaurant was extremely busy.
We went for Summmerlicious. I had eaten there before and enjoyed it.
I had mushroom crostinis and my husband gazpacho. Both were excellent.
For main course i had the fish and my husband the chicken. The food came hot, attractively presented, and was delicious. I would have liked a more interesting choice of veggies. Many are in season right now.
The dessert were also very good. I had the crepes with pinapple and hubby the crème brulée. The custard could have been tastier with less sugar.
We sat outside on a very hot day on the side of the patio with the umbrellas. I would not sit there again on a super hot day. The other half of the patio seemed cooler as it was shaded by a tall building. It is quiet (when there is no construction going on) as it is away from the busy Yorkville traffic. The view consits of watching well heeled Torotonians doing their shopping.
The restaurant sets a pretty picture and the food was good. We were disappointed to find no pate offerings on the menu. Unfortunately the music selections for the evening, did nothing to enhance the atmosphere. During the course of the evening, the table next to us played name that tune- was it the Beatles, the Go-Gos etc. Something as simple as playing something along the lines of Jill Barber, or Madeleine Peyroux would have enriched the atmosphere expedientially. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we chose to dine French, expecting the ambience to add to the romance of the evening.
Good food and great service but keep in mind that parking in the neighborhood is quite expensive. And the tables are also quite close to each other, it makes your conversation not too private.
