I'm in love with Crema. It's the best restaurant to have brunch in NYC. The guacamole is the most delicious guacamole I've tried in the city. The chilaquiles are delicious. However, the waitress wasn't polite at all on our last visit. But overall the food was amazing and the staff was nice as always, except for this waitress. Too bad they're gonna close.
Service, food, drinks all consistent and delicious. Prices are fair, not too loud overall nice place.
Refined and flavorful expression of Mexican food. The French influence creates some unique aspects.
As always, we enjoyed everything immensely.
Came for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was surprisingly not too crowded. I had the unlimited mimosas that, unfortunately, was limited to only one hour but the server was good about refills. I had the torrejas which is french toast with bacon and eggs - delicious.
The place is cozy ! the food is very nice .
Great surprise !
Will go again in a heart beat .
Great restaurant! The chilaquiles at brunch are the best I've had. Sad to know that Crema is closing, though.
Our waiter was rude but the food was great.
On a weekend trip to NYC, my husband and I ate dinner here on Friday night. They have margaritas made with fresh muddled fruit. I tried the blackberry and watermelon. Both were delicious! I would have liked to try more flavors, but they are kind of strong! We had guacamole and salsas. The guacamole was smooth with a nice citrus flavor. You get two salsas, one mild, one very spicy. It is not the normal salsa everyone else serves. It was delicious! I ordered the scallops for dinner. Very delicious with corn cakes and really good sauces. My husband ordered steak tacos and was very pleased. The meat had a nice flavor and was cooked to his liking. As usual as Mexican restaurants, we ate too many chips, so no room for dessert. We would highly recommend this restaurant! The service was terrific and food delicious.
The octopus and pork belly tacos were amazing as were the cocktails!
I've been coming to Crema for years, and for years it has never disappointed! The staff is super pleasant, knowledgeable, and a joy to be around. Oh, and get the French toast during brunch - it's life changing.
If you like good Mexican food: this is the place! Next time I am back in new york I ll visit this place for sure!
Food was ok! Excellent drinks. The decor was ok. The plates were worn out. The food looked like it was prepared the night before. Good drinks. Ok food!!
Outstanding food beautifully prepared and served. Attentive service.
Good for brunch ... But please do something about the coffee...
We stumbled across Crema when we were at the Affordable Art Show and were pleasantly surprised by the food. I love Mexican, but avoid it because it can be heavy with lots of cheese, etc. Well, if you feel the same way, Crema can solve that problem. Crema has light, inventive Mexican dishes. My husband and I had the scallops which were delicious! Also, he started with mini steak tacos- also yummy! I would definitely go back!
I've lived in the neighborhood for years but first time here. Crema will be a go to spot from now on!
Amazing food and superb service
Good tacos, guac not so much. A bit overpriced. Cushioned seats again wall not so comfortable. Good service.
We made a reservation for brunch at 11:30 right when they opened but they didn't get that busy. I had the stuffed poblano which was really good. The food was ready pretty quickly and the presentation was gourmet.
The bottomless mimosas were the star of the game, my glass was empty once in an hour and a half so our waiter did a great job living up to the bottomless part of the deal.
Whenever we're in the neighborhood, Crema is our go-to place for brunch on the weekend. Excellent mimosas. Staff is super nice and attentive. It can be a little loud when it gets busy-but everything else is so good that you won't mind the noise level. It's not your usual Mexican food. The ensalada mixta is amazing. I've not found anything like it anywhere else. The food presentation is also a winner. In the busy season, you may get shut out if you don't make a reservation.
Peak weekend dinner time is just a bit noisy (although not as noisy as some places...meaning you CAN hear the person across from you at Crema). The avocado and corn chip salad appetizer was really tasty and a great set-up for the huitlacoche empanadas entree. Delicious!
It was ok, not bad not great
Always my choice for haute Mexican. Sophisticated, complex flavors beautifully presented, efficiently served.
Unfortunately no one paid attention to our table of 4. Our server actually left about 3/4 of the way through our dinner and didn't even tell us and then no one ever bothered to come over to see if we needed anything...it took 30 mins to get a drink for my friend. And the chicken tacos are just really awful. Rest of the food is really just average. Not worth it...
Went with party of 4 for mid week early dinner. Restaurant was quiet and only moderately busy at that hour, great time for conversation. Food was excellent gourmet interpretation of Mexican classics. Amazing flavors. Friendly accommodating service. Large portions of entrees. Next time we will order appetizer portions and sample more. And there will be a next time. Delicious!
Each time I dine at Crema I wonder why I didn't return sooner. Food is always terrific and beautifully presented, service friendly and efficient. Whether a spur of the moment Let's dine out or a planned celebration you want to look forward to, Crema fills the bill.
Always warm and friendly here ; professional service but very warne
My mom and I were looking for a place to go to dinner between arriving in NYC and getting to the show we were going to see; I found this place randomly by doing a search in Google Maps for Mexican restaurants near our transportation arrival point. I'm so glad we found it! The staff was welcoming and incredibly attentive; they paid attention to the fact that we said in our OpenTable reservation that we needed to be out by 7pm to get to our show and they were very helpful getting us in and out without making us feel rushed in any way. The food was EXCEPTIONAL; we had the quesos flameados con todo y pollo, the empanadas del mercado, and the choco flan, and we were practically shoveling the into our mouths because they tasted so good an we couldn't get enough! We had a nice prosecco with our meal; the wine list might not wow any connosieurs, but had plenty of variety to make us happy. We also got our dessert for free because we were willing to Instagram about them; so get your smartphones out!
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I look forward to going back. I'll be excited to see how they do their tres leches, which is my favorite Mexican dessert; based on what I've experienced so far, I have no doubt that it will be delicious.
I had the chicken tacos for lunch, and they were pretty good although they weren't quite what I was expecting. I substituted the corn/cream dish ("granielote") for the rice and beans, and it was delicious--best I've had since I moved up here from Texas.
Be advised though that this is actual Mexican food, not Tex Mex.
