We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Service was great. Everyone was really nice, but I would never come back. The food was mediocre at a steep price. I don’t mind paying more for a good meal, but this was not worth it. The burrata we ordered was poor quality and served with the same bread that they gave us when we sat down. The bucatini I ordered had a huge glob of burrata on the bottom (just unnecessary). My boyfriend had the pizza, which was basically just cheese bread. Wonderful staff, but the food is bland and there’s so many other restaurants in the area to get a better meal.
The food, customer service and atmosphere should be commended. We enjoyed all the dishes and wine. Our waiter really engaged with us and made excellent suggestions from the menu.
We would highly recommend.
Great food in a friendly setting. Nice wine list and classic cocktails.
Everything about this place is great! The atmosphere is fantastic. Love the music!!! The wall art is inspirational. I like the separate room for large parties and the noise doesn’t bother other guests. Even though there is an open kitchen and a large cavernous dining room, the acoustics are nice in that you can have a low volume conversation with your guests. Please note that restaurant was not at full capacity.
The food is exceptional! The flavor combinations tap your senses and complement each other. Excellent staff!
Great food and service. A classic spot we frequent.
Excellente cuisine inventive et d'une fraîcheur incomparable. Les citations affichées partout sur les murs sont divertissantes et suscitent les discussions!
Service was spectacular. Far exceeded expectations
I really love this place. Everything I’ve had is fantastic. The service is good and quick. Food is excellent.
Credo is my new favorite restaurant and so close to the office. Food was fantastic just a bit too noisy to hear my colleague across the table. Will definitely go back again.
Went to Credo after seeing a play. The play was disappointing to we had very high hopes for dinner to save the day. And Credo delivered. Great staff, terrific food and a friendly atmosphere with the other guests. We came from out of town and have been recommending Credo to our friends for their next trip into the city.
Very expensive for what it is.
I realize it’s in the financial district, but GLASSes of wine for $30+ is ridiculous. I live in Napa, and the best wines are at most $18 or $19.
$40 for pasta is also a little much.
I do not mind paying, even paying a lot for a fine meal. But the cost to quality is not in balance at this restaurant.
Perfect for small mtg if 6
Really enjoyed the fresh modern cuisine. Not classic Northbeach “heavy” Italian, rather, refined farm-to-table menu and reasonable but not huge portions. Clearly, this chef knows what they are doing and I will be back again soon. I had the special risotto of the day and, even though the protein was a slender slice of salmon, the hero was the fresh veggies in the risotto itself. Wonderful flavorful dishes and intelligent use of spice and salt accents. Highly recommended!
Interesting menu. Gnocchi were very good. Service was good.
Very nicely done SF eatery. Had lunch here and it was very good. I would recommend a reservation if you want to make sure you get a spot. Risotto was outstanding
Awesome staff and our server was super engaging, funny and also handsome. We loved our dining experience. Hope to be back sometime.
We added a person at the very last minute and they accommodated us quickly and pleasantly! Great food, great atmosphere great service.
Servjce was attentive but not hovering. The food, especially the risotto and pasta, was very, very good and our group of eight did not ever feel rushed to leave. Our server knew we were celebrating birthdays and presented us with a delicious and beautiful dessert with a candle in it (gratis), so we tipped her generously. Overall, an excellent experience!
the pumpkin gnocchi was amazing! delicate flavors of apple, sage, pumpkin all perfectly portioned
We had a wonderful lunch at Credo. Food was good and the service was great. The only thing is it was louder than expected. This is not a bad thing, but if you are looking for a quiet lunch spot for conversation it might not be the best option.
Food was fantastic. Dessert was on point.
The food was good. Flavors not too overpowering/bold and subtle enough to tastr good til the last bite. It was friday night, and so it was crowded... and so it felt like the server was "hushing" us which... which was somewhat annoying though understandable. Oh well.
Having gone to Credo many times I really looked forward to enjoying a well prepared and graciously served lunch. My complaint with this place has ALWAYS been the noise level. It's such that your senses are so overwhelmed that you can't enjoy the beautiful food or hear your companion.
everything there is great - just hard to hear. But I still go time and time again.
Great lunch. We sat in the downstairs dining room and liked it
Some of the best food in San Francisco. Very fresh and innovative rustic Italian. Great bar cocktails.
excellent food and service. we’ve enjoyed Credo regularly for almost 10 years. we agree that the room is too noisy for us to have larger than a party of 2, however
The waitstaff was terrific and the food was awesome as was the wine. Highly recommend the Cod and the cocktails were also delicious.
It was really great, friendly staff made great recommendations
Very overpriced for the food. Service was excellent. The sausage and polenta was very good. Didn’t like the potato soup with crab
Pasta delicious, chicken a bit overdone but still good.
Great place for a meal and downstairs is the best for business lunch
Service was subpar. Slow. Not very attentive. Disruptive when they did engage.
I chose Credo for a work dinner as it is fairly close to our office and I am very pleased with my choice. Our table was ready and right at the front of the restaurant. The wine selection was great, the bread and butter were amazing (very important!), Caesar salad was delicious along with the appetizer prawns and Brussel sprouts. We ordered a couple other appetizers and salads that I didn't quite get to try but every plate was empty, so you be the judge. I ordered the salmon for my entree and it was cooked perfectly and perfectly flavored. I got to try the gnocchi which I will definitely order next time. The desserts to me were a bit subpar but that was okay because I was way too full by that point. The ambiance was great as it was bustling but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Everybody had a great time and was happy with the restaurant.
The food was excellent. Our server Oscar was so fantastic we went back a second night. Thank you Oscar for such a wonderful experience!
Had the pumpkin gnocchi and the cheesecake. Both were very good, bit portion a little small for the usa.
Ambiance was good, losts of young professionals and not too loud.
Food is very good. Plenty of vegetarian option. The pumpkin gnocchi is delicious. The kale salad with crusted Ahi Tuna is fresh and lightly dressed. The octopus appetizer is cooked to perfection. The house bread served with salt topped butter is fresh and served in generous portion. Service is super friendly and welcoming.
Enjoyed both the openers (one of us had soup, the other salad) and the main dishes. Cocktails (a berry drink with a dash of basil) and apertif (a Czech fernet) were very good. Great service too (appreciated the recommendations). And it looks like the folks who run this place do some good in the world as well. Don't know many restaurants that incorporate philanthropy in their business - good on you, Credo! We'll be back.
Portion size is perfect for family style. It is really tasty and I love the decor.
We had a group of 11 for a work dinner and it was perfect. The food was wonderful, the staff was very hospitable and our group felt well cared for.
