Credo's menu reflects a deep appreciation of Italian culinary traditions combined with Northern California sensibilities. Distilling robust and complex flavors from simple ingredients—including local produce, sustainable fish and imported Italian specialty items—and classic preparations, our selections are quintessentially Italian...with a distinct point of view.

Service was great, we had a friend with dietary restrictions and they bent over backward. From a wine recommendation to meals selections our server was bang on !!!
Not bad, but I wouldn’t repeat. Seated under a wall of Dick Cheney and George W Bush quotes about the Iraq war. It was the whole wall. I understand the sentiment, but Bush, Cheney, and the Iraq War are neither appetizing nor romantic.
Service wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. They were slow and the waitress spent a lot of time chatting with the bartender when we were trying to get her attention. Not a big deal, but also not Great service.
Food wasn’t bad, I’d give it 7/10. I would maybe go back if it wasn’t so expensive, but I don’t think it was a good value.
Great service and hip ambiance. The food and drinks are OK.
We've long been fans of Credo. This time they outdid themselves, from the quality of service to the superb rack of lamb.
Great service and food. Only concern was the noise.
So amazing! Best waiter...my mother in law booked to go back! Food was fantastic!
The menu reads better than food actually is. Our first course appetizers were completely subpar.
Food was great. Service was good.
The burrata with grilled stone fruit was AMAZING! So many wonderful flavors and textures. My trout was less impressive....sort of dry, lacking any sauce. Service was excellent.
Can’t rate the food too much because all we had were olives. However, the service was terrible. Bartender was so rude that even if I was starving I wouldn’t have ordered from him. He wouldn’t answer any questions about the menu without an attitude and when I asked for water he shouted “wait” right in my face.
The food was superb, but I would not return for dinner because of the noise level. We were 4 women and we could barely hear each other.
Servers friendly, food delicious.
Service was very friendly and food was great. Servings were appropriate, not overwhelming.
The service was nonexistent. The food, well, we had to pick up on the way home to make up for the inedible, and unpleasant, foods that made their way to our lonely table. Olive Garden or even Spazzo was leagues better. I dine regularly at Michelin and James Beard restaurants across the country. My Instagram is famous and reposted by the Michelin guide on social media. My expectations are not too high, this restaurant simply doesn’t come to par.
Met some old friends for dinner. Cocktails were fantastic. We all had pasta entrees including the zucchini "pasta". We all enjoyed what we ate and would return for sure. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was simple casual but upbeat and classic. We loved reading all the quotes on the walls which helped passed the time while waiting for our friends.
Good place for a post-work dinner, either business or personal. The pasta was good and all the ingredients seemed very fresh.
The BLT is outstanding. Best one I've ever had. Great spot.
Amazing food we came to this place on chance found something on open table and were not disappointed at all great happy hour menu and great overall food will be coming back soon
It’s not fair writing a review here - I’ve been to Credo so many times at this point - but never as a date before. I’ve rarely ever had an experience close to as good as this time. Even early in the night and without drinks! Food, service, and decor are all worth writing home about.
Great service and a very creative menu with lots of interesting options, we loved two fish choices but looked like great and really interesting pasta, lamb and beef. We will plan to return next time in San Francisco to see what new dishes they have come up with. Open kitchen, by the way, fun to watch.
Went to Credo for lunch with a group of coworkers! We had more people show up than expected and had only made reservations for 2, but the wait staff was able to accommodate our group of 6 at the last minute! Food was great. Would highly recommend the Burrata as a starter. Would happily come back again. :)
Great service by our waitress. Also enjoyed the bar while we waited on our table. Wasn’t too loud. Upscale ambiance without being pretentious. We both devoured our meals. Would recommend 9/10 for date night.
There was nothing wrong with our dinner, but I can't give it a better rating simply because I've had far more amazing food elsewhere. I think the burrata dish was a little underwhelming and lacked figs which is one of the ingredients highlighted in the description. Also, the bread is just too thick for this dish. The clam fettuccine was tasty, and we did enjoy that. Lastly, our dessert was the chocolate tart, which seemed to miss the mark. It was just a bit bland and boring. Our server was super sweet and the atmosphere was nice (we were there at 6 on a Saturday).
Ignored us and then very slow. Poor service, but excellent food.
Everything was great. Only shortcoming was bartender ok but not great like all other aspects.
Great food & service. My halibut was amazing. Loud & bustling but still nice ambiance 👍🏼
The restaurant is so noisy that it was difficult hear anyone at our 4 person table. Too many hard surfaces that echo and amplify sound. I would not return to the restaurant unless the owner changes the sound conditions.
Everything about our meals was fresh and creative. We started with the Burrata and warm olives. The Burrata was fresh and would highly recommend. I had the Ricotta Gnocch which was tasty and full of flavor.
They are good for large groups with the basement seating which has the ambience of good sayings written over the wall.
From the moment we walked in the door we were struck by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff . At many restaurants the quality of vegan/vegetarian options isn’t as good as others but here every dish was of exceptional quality. Service was impeccable.
Great service, wonderful food, creative cocktails. Super fun evening, would definitely return.
The food and service was fantastic. The bar scene makes the atmosphere a little chaotic and loud. Because the bar is situated in the middle of the restaurant it’s difficult.
I booked a reservation here because it was convenient for the person I was meeting for a business lunch. I ordered the arugula salad with roasted chicken. It was outstanding. The chicken was fresh, moist and perfectly cooked (the skin crunchy). My colleague had the salmon and said it was excellent. Noise level was a little loud but the tables for two were sized such that conversation was not too overwhelmed by the din. Service was excellent. I was seated immediately even though I was early for my 12:15pm res and my colleague hadn’t yet arrived. I love that! They weren’t at all bothered that we stayed at the table to continue our conversation as the restaurant thinned out of patrons. The only knock has nothing to do with Credo: parking at the garage around the corner cost more than my hour and a half lunch. My error, of course. Financial district offers few options for affordable parking. Next time, I’ll take BART. I recommend Credo highly.
I love this place. I have been here on 3 different occasions. Food Great!! service awesome!
I love the both Theadora & Renata. I hope to come back very soon! Our Birthday gal!! Loved the place!!
Went to Credo for a Saturday evening dinner with my son and his girlfriend. The hostess was very nice about getting us a table away from the door on a cool night. The bar service was slow while we waited. Dinner service was attentive and prompt. The food was good, but I expected slightly better for the price. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with any of out dinners, I just expected more flavor and more interesting plating. I would go back again knowing what I know.
The hospitality and our sever were great. My food, on the other hand, fell short of expectations. The soup of the day (pureed vegetables & chicken stock) was enjoyable. The risotto du jour was more than toothsome. It was nearly crunchy and the fresh vegetables pieces were large, crunch and did not mesh with the rice. In contrast the gnocchi were a sad, flabby paste of potato with overly salted summer squash.
Again the service was wonderful and it was great to see friends, but the food was a disappointment.
Food is very good. We enjoyed the octopus starter, halibut and saffron linguini with clams.
Desserts outstanding: chocolate flourless cake and caramelized pineapple with sorbet and garnishes!
Service was smooth without being intrusive.
Readily accommodated some dietary restrictions without fuss.
Decor is industrial chic with amusing quotes on the walls in large graphic lettering.
Venue was not full, but VERY noisy without any large parties present. Imagine it would be boisterous with a full house, especially of larger groups.
Credo was excellent. The food quality and preparation was incredible. I had the halibut and my boss has the trout and each were delicious and unique in their own sauce so very moist with elements of crisp outer layer. We enjoyed wine and appetizers I recommend the burrata!
Steak had too much seasoning on it, ruined a perfectly good piece of meat!
Well prepared creative dishes. Very good service. Quiet enough for easy conversation. Pasta dishes and the halibut entree were delicious. A little pricey, but not unreasonable for San Francisco.
The food was delicious. The pizza was second only to my sister-in-law’s and as close as we’ve found to what we loved in Italy. The Caesar salad was also first class and the affogato perfect! Our service was delightful, just the right speed, efficient and friendly. It’s very entertaining to read the quotes on the walls. We have already raved to friends and family.
