Credo's menu reflects a deep appreciation of Italian culinary traditions combined with Northern California sensibilities. Distilling robust and complex flavors from simple ingredients—including local produce, sustainable fish and imported Italian specialty items—and classic preparations, our selections are quintessentially Italian...with a distinct point of view.

Overpriced, ate in the basement, service was slow...won't be back...
The food was awesome, great service, noise level is higher than some but okay.
The risotto was exceptional! Great cocktails as well.
I LOVE this edtablishment. Everything was lovely from the check in, to seating, to service! The attentive nature of the personnel and I mean all the personnel. When you add to that the main reason you are there, The Food (crab salad sandwich and basil lemonade) you have an excellent winning combination!!!
I made a reservation weeks in advance for a business guest lunch and was put in the basement. Very very disappointed and it was a turn off for my guests. I understand overflow but not for someone who made a reservation way in advance. Won't go again for a while...
Food was awesome. My picky kids even enjoyed it. We will be back for the food. The service was excellent too.
It was a last minute selection. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent as were the martinis
Thank you for the wonderful evening. My son loved the food. Theodora, was awesome. The food was delicious. I would suggest when having a birthday to ask the party what the birthday recipient likes before deciding. Theodora, had suggested your Hazelnut Tart, but one of her colleague suggested, the Cherry cake instead. No mind you, it was okay. But my son, doesn't like cake. He would have preferred the tart. Our servers original thought after speaking with us throughout the evening. Not t be cheap but I spent additional funds to try the hazelnut tart that I would have preferred not to spend. Or giving the funds as additional tip to our server.
Otherwise, Loved everything.
A return customer!!!
We ordered 3 dishes, each of which was very different and delicious! Highly recommend Credo as one of the few good restaurants open for dinner in the financial district.
Great food and service. Very accommodating to a large group. Pasta was fantastic! Would definitely go back.
The Halibut was amongst the best dishes I’ve ever eaten.
Always love coming to Credo. Foods great and excellent service, although a little pricey for lunch. Only negative is it’s very loud and you have to really talk loud to have a conversation.
I dine @ Credo regularly. I was 7 minutes late for my reservation. The hostess told me I would have to wait for another table, or sit in the basement. 🙂
food is excellent. I often get the risotto of the day and it is always fantastic. It can be a bit too loud for a business conversation... But if you need a bit of privacy at least you can count on the noise drowning out how far your conversation will travel
Great but unfortunate that we couldn't get a table together for our party of 20. We did book in advance but the most that could be accommodated at one table was 14. Fantastic food. Fantastic ambience!
The food was good, good flavor. The pizza was over cooked, the crust was burned.
Acoustical panels would be so worthy and appreciated. Very easy & fairly inexpensive fix.
Food & service....excellent!
Always a good meal. Great service....friendly. Order was done correctly and quickly.
Credo is close to my office. I looked up available restaurants for my day and time, and then checked menus. Credo won hands down! We split the tomato soup, the Baked Pecorino, Hazelnuts, Local Wildflower Honey, Chili Flakes, and the Dungeness Crab Sandwich, Avocado, Louis Dressing, Garlic Potato Chips. Everything was so delicious, but you MUST try the Baked Pecorino - paired with the tomato soup it was a luscious version of grilled cheese with tomato soup! The sandwich with the garlic chips was also fantastic! Eat this food, people!
Great as always.
Bland food. Expensive. Absent wait service. Slow food service.
We stumbled upon this place last minute. The wine, appetizers and food were amazing!
Our party of 4 loved the food and the ambiance of this noisy but very cool find. Portions are large so plan on sharing. Decent wines by the glass, a variety of good food choices, and we loved the quotes on the walls. It was full but our server did her best to stay on top of things with us. If you want to avoid the North Beach scene this is a great alternative.
Great place for a business lunch. I requested to have a table in a quieter spot. Credo obliged with a table in their downstairs dining room. Main floor is much louder, but would be fine if you were catching lunch with a friend. The service was spot on and the food was damn near perfect. Not crazy portion sizes...just right. My risotto was a tiny bit undercooked, but only a bit. Flavors and creativity were great. I’m planning on going back with friends. Yum.
I took a 10 person business group for dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was very good. The staff was very attentive. My clients were pleased.
Credo has a very nice dining atmosphere and the food is delicious.
The interior walls are filled with interesting quotes.
I had the meatball appetizer and the flank steak spinach salad. Both were amazing and surprisingly good. I highly recommend these two dishes...my associate had the prawns he seemed to enjoy them too.
We were seated downstairs in the basement - perfect for a business lunch. Upstairs tends to be a bit noisy.
Service was lovely, wish the meal matched the service. Ordered the pizza to start, as after reading other reviews, pizza was a specialty. Almost no meat on the sausage pizza, in fact, not much cheese either. Food was fair at best. We won't be back.
Outstanding food! It is more on the expensive side, but still worth trying!
Awesome as always, Manager was extremely courteous and knowledgeable.
Love dining at Credo
Credo has consistently great food. When the restaurant is full the noise level in the main dining room makes conversation very difficult. There is a lower-level dining room where the noise level is much more tolerable.
Very fast service with several great cocktails (we had the very sweet Chocolate Old Fashioned and the bitter (regular) Old Fashioned). Excellent handmade pumpkin gnocchi in a butter sauce and well-prepared entrees. Enjoyed the "writing on the wall" decoration, and sat right near the kitchen prep area, but it wasn't any louder there. Will return!
Overall the my meal was good. I had the vegan vegetable soup which I enjoyed, but could have been hotter, the trout I thought was really good. My husband on the other hand had the Cesar salad and the meatball starter. He was not impressed with either. The Cesar salad was bland and he did not think the meatballs were anything to write home about. The service was excellent and the quotes on the wall were a good distraction from my husbands meal.
Such a great experience!!
I thought the menu had a good variety of dishes and was really tasty.
Excellent strudel appetizer, nocchi mid course & cod entre cooked perfectly. Creative wine list with Italian & CA wines. One of my favorites after work.
Terrific night with old friends who needed a proper welcome to the Bay Area from London
