Loved my fish dish - I had the special. Also had my favorite dessert - the bread pudding is to die for! Yum.
It was our first time at CW & it was highly recommended by friends. Unfortunately we had a negative experience. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates. The waiter warned us the plate was very hot. The plate was hot but the appetizer was refrigerator cold. The waiter took it back and we waited for a replacement which was good. I ordered the veal special & it was very over done & tough. The menu was eclectic & had some very attractive selections. Maybe we were there on an off night but it didn't seem that busy.
The waiter was very attentive & friendly. When I made reservations I requested a desert of their choice with a birthday candle. He brought Bread Pudding with a scoop of ice cream which was very good. We came from out of town for a special evening in Milwaukee so it was disappointing. I did like the sound of the items on the menu so I might give this place another try in the future.
Another lovely time at Crazy Water. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. From the shimp bisk to the entrees to the chocolate mousse dessert, everything was delicious.
Awesome!!!
Great little neighborhood restaurant!
The drinks we ha (brandy old fashions)were the best! Great ambiance and excellent food and service!
Our table ordered four different dishes, all outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient to the max. Highly recommend this restaurant.
One of my fav places. The whole experience is always wonderful!
I placed this reservation to celebrate my sister’s birthday with our parents. We were seated at our table and the hostess poured water immediately, however, it took our waitress over 10 minutes to great our table and to take our initial drink order (we almost left). The place was also extremely crowded and people, including staff, kept bumping into us and the ambiance was extremely unpleasant. Luckily, the food was pretty good. The only food complaint was that the veal was served like country fried steak. Otherwise the short ribs and lamb ragu were perfect. Finally, our waitress took forever to bring us our bill.
I expected so much more and I’m very disappointed, I do not think the value was worth the experience.
Great place, would go again
The service and the food were as promised, top notch. We had hoped for, if not a quiet dinner, at least one where we could talk without shouting. On this particular Saturday night, the noise level prevented that. Or bill coming to $150 plus tax and tip, I would list the restaurant as $$$ rather than $$
Lovely date night! Perfect for a cozy winter night. God was perfect! Staff was casual and friendly!
Have been to Crazy Water twice and the food is consistently excellent. Exceptional cocktails too!
My friend and I went to dinner on recommendation. His burger was supposed to be medium well, and it came out extremely rare. My duck was supposed to be medium rare, and it was totally overcooked.
The food was pretty disgusting- would never come here again nor recommend it to others.
The Thursday night supper club menu was delicious and an incredible value. I have eaten here before, always great.
Crazy Water never disappoints. Our cocktails were well made, the shrimp bisque soup was warm and tasty, the mousse appetizer was flavorful, And the red grouper entree was fantastic. We’ll be back soon.
Cozy little restaurant with a warm atmosphere and a very "neighborhood" feel. The dining area is smaller so it can feel more crowded than it is at times. Despite that, the tables are spaced well enough that one doesn't feel constricted.
The wait staff are hard-working, genial, and attentive. They are knowledgeable about the menu and willing to offer thoughts on entrees as well as what their personal favorites are.
The drinks are very good (strong, but not too strong) and the wine selection is solid and not marked up too terribly.
The menu is eclectic and varied and there doesn't appear to be a bad choice on it. I've had or sampled 3 different items in the 2 times I've been here and everything has been prepared wonderfully, served hot, and tasted fantastic.
They also have a nice selection of starters and salads. If you get dessert, I highly recommend the apple tart with salted caramel ice cream...it was sinfully delicious.
I will definitely be back and look forward to trying the rest of the menu items offered.
We ate here last Friday with another couple. We were sat immediately, our waitress was very attentive in a great way and the food was exceptionally good. I don't normally finish everything but that night not a morsel was left on any plate. We had the dates, biscuits and foie gras for appetizers. The biscuits and dates were especially good. We had the Grouper, Rib eye, and scallops for dinner. All were exceptionally good. Drinks were amazing. Thank you, Crazy Water. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is how tight the space is. You really can't go early b/c there's no room to wait anywhere comfortably. Just show up at your reservation time and hope to get seated right away.
Crazy Water continues to deliver really good food in a fun atmosphere. Really great flavor profiles and well prepared dishes. I really enjoy the cozy, but lively atmosphere.
Amazing food and service! Crazy Water is our date night go to!
Best food and staff in Milwaukee.
The waiter was excellent - attentive and charming! Burger and fries were phenomenal- all cooked to perfection. Dining partner had the supper club special which was a very good deal - it included squash and mushroom soup which although good, with a generous number of mushrooms, was a bit bland and thin. It also included a nice salad, a very good pasta dish with shrimp plus a glass of red wine. Desserts were also good including a particularly great bread pudding with sour cherries.
Group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals, starters and desserts. Only the Mediterranean Sea bass dish was average. Sea Bass was cooked properly to a flaky moist fish but the seasoning and accompaniments were average. The rest of the entrees were stellar as usual. In the end, everyone said they would come back.
One of our guests in our party arrived early and sat at the bar, and was asked to leave until the time of the reservation because the restaurant was busy/full. We were seated 40 minutes after the reservation time. The table was given a free appetizer for the displacement of the guest (who chose not to stay) and the wait. The meal was great but the events leading up to the meal were disappointing.
Don’t let the outside fool you. The food and service was excellent. It is a small place so it can get loud, but that was fine with us. Good choice and wine, Sea Bass for dinner very good, dessert and a little Bourbon and we were well pleased with our experience. Also several GF options!
Amazing food, inventive and executed well. Great, service. A smaller place so I would suggest a reservation. Was very impressed with the chefs, the quickness and flavors coming from the small kitchen area that is in the front of the restaurant.
Friend in town from Charlotte
Our dinner experience was amazing, the food was exquisite & our waitress was fabulous!
Dined here on a recent Tuesday night. Service was excellent and the waiter recognized us from a previous visit. We tried each of the salads (Bibb and Endive) and both were exceptional. Two had the Crazy shrimp and loved it. The Lamb Ragu was chosen by two others and was delightful. Tried the Creme Brulee for desert and it was exceptional with tiny bits of merengue on top. Very very nice. I believe this continues to be one of Milwaukee's top restaurants.
Food was not good. very confusing ingredients and not cohesive dishes. very greasy and oily environment. smell remained in hair and clothes for days.
The food was fresh and delicious. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing food, service and ambience!
As we were gathering with friends and family we hadn’t seen for awhile, we needed a fun restaurant that we knew had excellent food and service. The environment was lively but quiet enough to catch up. The food is always interesting with wonderful service!
The food is fabulous -- excellent presentation and superb tastes. Somewhat noisy inside, and the waitress was attentive but underwhelming for a $150+ total service.
Service and food excellent as always. Great intimate place for date night.
Really enjoyed our meal at Crazy Water. Interesting menu and a cool vibe.
New years eve menu was awesome. Food and service spot on even from the bar. Thats why we will pay more for a nice dinner here.
Have not been to Crazy Water in over 3 years and my husband and I were so happy to find that the food and service remain outstanding! This is such a Milwaukee gem!
We live this place. Service is always excellent.
We were surprised and delighted with the Thursday night “supper club” special. The cream of mushroom soup was so “Crazy Water delicious” and nothing like a can version. The steak was done perfectly and oh so tender. All that and a cocktail for $30? Excellent meal!!!
Phenomenal restaurant. Hands down a favorite in Milwaukee.
