Food ok, but sat with a view of the kitchen so ambience not great
Food tastes amazing. The seafood plater was a little lackluster presention wise. Good service and nice vibe but venue had a slight smell.
I'm not a fan of people who hunt so when I walked in and saw a baby giraffe taxidermy hanging from the ceiling...I should have walked out. With that being said I did not and asked to move somewhere that I didn't have to look at it.
Food was good. The server wasn't great.
Tatty surroundings, average food, disinterested service. Very little to like. Radical overhaul required.
The food was amazing and I loved the decor and surroundings.
The staff were so nice & treated us to a special dessert as it was our anniversary. Then we also relaxed in the bar downstairs after our dinner. A great evening.
Great evening with family and friends (incl my 4 yr old)
Good food and ambience, loved it.
Everything was fantastic
The food was fabulous as always but service wasn’t great.
They also got our order wrong but managed to eventually remedy it.
We will come back but there’s room for improvement
Leather on the sofa where I was sitting damaged. The chef made the wrong sushi. Ordered a bottle of wine, wine put in the container with the ice with other bottles of other table. What kind of service is it?
I've wanted to come to Crazy Bear for a long time and I wasn't disappointed. Service eally does make the dining experience go along way and we were well served especially by Leon who took the time to explain the menu and accommodate our requests.
The food was lovely and there was plenty of it which was unexpected considering we were paying £33 for 12 plates and a glass of Champagne.
I would definitely come back, its agreat place for friends and for romantic nights. Thank you Crazy Bear.
The service was fantastic, the food is something else, the bar was pretty, I love this little place.
I went to have dinner with my sister and my mum and it was incredible.
Food was good and the service was excellent.
The only thing we didn’t like at all was the death giraffe hanging up from the celling that they have as a decoration.
Poor service, really disappointed it was disaster from the minute we walked through the door. We often entertain customers and family at Crazy Bear. We were there for a special occasion which was completely ruined by the lack of service.
No atmosphere. Felt like we were sat in bar rather than resturant. Unable to move. There are lots of better places with much better value for money. Wouldn't recommend.
It was my boyfriend birthday. Honestly I didn’t expect this experience after reading the reviews I thought I would give it a go and to be honest it wasn’t good. We got seated in a old style living room which wasnt the greatest but had no choice, then the food which was completely surprising the food was cold and tasteless and weird I mean weird as it didn’t smell great so I couldn’t eat bits of it and to be honest the pad Thai was cold and had prawns and egg which I said I didn’t want. I just didn’t enjoy my experience at all I think the food could of been warmer or pretended as if you actually made it even if you didn’t it just didn’t make sense and the drinks we ordered took more then 40 mins which seem very long in my eyes just for cocktails. Honestly I don’t know if would go back the food is really tasteless and cold which really put me off especially when it’s already cold outside.
I always thought the Crazy Bear group was an upmarket brand, how wrong I was! We arrived at 8pm for our reserved seats at the bar, only to be given 2 out of the 4 seats, and no space for the extra 2. There was a boisterous Christmas party going on in the confined area, so loud drunk people were dancing right behind us. I get that it was a Saturday night in December, but this wasn't the ambiance I was expecting. Also the decor was all very tired and jaded looking. We left after 5 mins and went to the pub across the road which was much nicer!
Yes if we are looking at the food/service. However, i thought i had booked a table in the restaurant upstairs, but we were placed in a booth in the bar, which was far too noisy, we were having to shout at each other as we couldnt have a conversation.
As you were hosting a christmas party in thr bar, it felt like we were being overlooked the whole time.
Check where you are seated when making a booking.
Nice food and service, shame about the seating area!
Great fun with excellent food and professional service. the 12 plate menu was wonderful, with a glass of bubbles and as was on a special offer realy good value!
Absolutely appalling. Arrived at the restaurant, presented with the 12 course set menu (which differed from the website/open table). We requested 2 alterations as two courses were Pork which we do not eat. We were advised we could ONLY swap those 2 for two duck courses (not beef, chicken, lamb, fish - not even for two vegatarian courses from the vegatarian 12 course set menu. So our 12 course set menu would now have 3 course of duck. After discussing this with various members of staff and also with someone who seemed to be the manager, we came to the decision that we would not be accomodated. We advised him we would need to leave and we were given a funny look, he then turned his back on us and walked away without a word of apology or anything. We then walked out. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. On a positive note Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield is of a much higher standard of service and very accomodating and is worth a visit
A little re decoration might be in order as it’s looking a bit tired and some extra lighting for the toilets as they are too dark
Service and food fab
After being told that our table wasn’t ready upon arrival, we sat at the bar and waited for 15-20 minutes. Once we were seated at a table we were told that the kitchen was closing and would need to order straight away. We didn’t even get a chance to look through the menu properly. We we told we could not order any sushi and the sushi bar was now closed. We place our order and after 10 minutes was told that I could no longer have the dim sum that I had ordered and would not be able to pick anything else off the menu to replace it. Fast forward 30 minutes after being annoyed at our experience and how we were handled the manager came over and told us the chef is not making our food!!! We had now been there over a hour, hungry and angry at our experience. We had been waiting all that time for nothing. To top things off it was my friends birthday. This is so unacceptable and I will never be visiting the restaurant again. We were so hungry that we drove to china town.
The food was amazing however the attitude from the staff was not appreciated. They made us feel like we had to rush our meal and leave and weren’t very helpful. Other than that was a pleasant evening.
This was one of the worst bar/restaurant experiences i have ever encountered.
- The staff got my booking time incorrect, even after confirming via both email and phone
- poor service in being accommodating I.e showing us to a table after waiting 15minutes, then waiting another 15 minutes before someone comes over to take our order, when we haven’t even been given a menu!
- Food arriving soooo late!
- To top it all off, the staff have my bag and boyfriends bag to complete strangers! It was only when they walked back with it through the restaurant that I noticed!
Sat in the drinks area till our table was ready. They did not have brandy or bottled coca cola
The food was lukevwarm and the menu bot explained so left hungry
When collecting our jackets from the cloakroom we were given the wrong bags
Was seated near entrance so had a cold breeze and felt like the waiting area. They forgot to put order in for my sisters main meal so we had to eat our dinner separately.
We had to wait over an hour for our reserved table as the previous group did not want to leave and staff didn’t appear able to move them on. I would have expected some proactive apology or some drinks / nibbles and some understanding. Instead we were made to feel like we were unreasonable, as we kept having to ask what was happening whilst we were otherwise ignored. Credit in the end when manager gave us some free drinks (after we directly asked for some compensation). And once seated, service was good. But I would have expected the situation to be handled much better in a place that is charging high end prices.
The 12 plate sharing menu with a glass of champagne is very good value, you get a decent serving. The duck dish and prawn pad Thai dish were particularly good.
The service overall was good, but the seating was terrible, my chair was in the aisle, and it was very squashed.
Pros: fresh, delicious food.
Cons: poor service, poor layout, mediocre cocktails, overall poor value for money.
Overall really dissapointed due to the poor quality of food mainly. It was like a really expensive Chinese/Thai take away. Ingredients and flavours didn't feel fresh. Regretted ordering the set menu as it was £50 each which seemed good value for 12 plates but it wasn't. Portions were small. Our table was also bumped back 45 mins due to them taking a large booking before us. I have rated service as 5/5 though as staff were very good. Gave us a free round of champagne for the inconvenience.
Pretty average food with quite bad waitress. No knowledge of the menu as we asked questions about the food.
My friend loved it though so down to personal taste!
Busy with place with a lively atmosphere. Huge menu with a wide range of food. Lots of dishes great for sharing. We shared some dim sum and crispy squid and tempura prawns followed by lobster dishes with noodles and a spicy sauce.
Very nice restaraunt with good service. Food was very nice.
Great atmosphere and staff. Food very nice and lots of choice on menu. Would recommend.
My friend and I were really disappointed. We booked for a 3 course set with a glass of champagne. We arrived for our 2.15 booking on time and were shown to the bar while our table was 'prepared.' The one barman downstairs was so busy making drinks for the servers, it took him nearly 15 before he could take our order. We eventually got our drink, and after 30 mins I chased to see our table. We finally sat down 40 mins past our original booking time, to then be ignored by the waiters for another 10 before we finally got our menus. We had the starter and dessert for the table next to us given to us in error twice, luckily we knew it wasn't ours! There were no apologies or offers to discount us for the lateness, or poor service, so we asked to take the service charge off at the end, but really should have been offered some sort of compensation. Ashame when you think it is going to be something special. Food was tasty, but I've had similar at middle of road Thai restaurants, so wasn't worth the premium price tag. All hype, no substance.
Another great night
Nice venue and decor, but information on the open table was conflicting with what we were told when we arrives. We were not able to have the set menu with bar seating even though we were able to took book it.
Fantastic meal for a special night out. Very romantic but went with a friend and it was still brilliant. Great service!
Great experience. Lovely food and lovely service
The chairs where torn and very uncomfortable which impacted the mood of the overall night. But the food was amazing.
Need more gluten free starters.
Great food and wonderful cocktails. We were given a lovely corner table overlooking the whole restaurant and the staff were brilliant too. I’d recommend it for atmosphere alone!
