I went for a glass of plum wine and a chettoh roll. They were out of plum wine and the roll was more cream cheese than anything. I don't go regularly, so they may just been having an off day, bug I was dissapointed.

Know what you're getting into.

For me, there are 2 different categories that I put sushi restaurants into:
Either A) the old school, traditional places that honor the old techniques and the true artform of sushi (where sitting at the bar and ordering nigiri by the piece is what you want to do)
or
B) A trendier spot that's going to be more focused on creative rolls.

For me, Crave falls into category B. That's not a bad thing by any stretch, but it's just knowing what their strong suit is. I honestly don't think that the nigiri are of particular note here, so in my opinion that's not where I'd spend my money.

The rolls are fun and creative, so it's more what I would consider Japanese fushion than true sushi.

If that's what you're looking for, Crave is definitely a great spot.

The techno music and contemporary decor are a little off-putting, so I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if the dining room was packed full of people. All the hard surfaces would result in an atmosphere that would be too noisy for the meal to be enjoyable.

This is a mediocre sushi place. It had the feel of a local neighborhood bar. The service was slow. The sushi was average and expensive for what it was. I will not be returning to Crave when there are so many other sushi restaurants to choose from.

Charming sushi spot. I think they were understaffed. Our poor server seemed to have to bartend and take call in orders while serving our table. She was a great serer just busy so it took longer than we would have liked to finish our meal. Sushi is priced at a steal! Sake carafe for $8. She was very friendly when presenting our cupcakes that we brought for our guest of honor from another business. Id go there again.

We visited Crave on a Sunday afternoon. We were the only ones there... The floors were dirty, the furniture was beaten up, and we were weary of being the only patrons. We almost left immediately but due to the good reviews on Yelp, we stayed. We ordered food and drinks as we would at any sushi spot- appetizers, several rolls, and sushimi. Overall, the food was great! I am sure this is a nice late night place because you cannot see how visibly dirty and worn the restaurant is.

Went on a Sunday before an afternoon show downtown. They had Happy Hour pricing on appetizers, sushi, sashimi, and drinks all day on Sunday's. We sampled a few different rolls and several types of sashami....all were excellent! Will definitely visit again!

Lights were way too dark for me as I miss took sliced garlic for ginger. In fact I ordered the Wagyu beef hot rock that came with sliced garlic but wasn't brought to my attention,...so hence the mistake. I ate the beef first which was absolutely delicious by the way! But would have enjoyed it with the garlic steaming together with the beef had I known before hand. My husband and daughter loved their Sushi!!!!! Really good! I will go back,....

The food didn't taste authentic... More like someone slapping sushi recipes together. No passion between the wasabi.

Our server, Savannah was top notch.
Won't be back. There is plenty of better sushi in the sea.

Took a group of co-workers here for dinner at the last minute. They were able to accommodate our group of 8 with no problem as we went early. The place gets more crowded the later it gets. All in all, a good experience.

We had never tried this restaurant before, and although small and crowded, our server was great, we could hear each other, and the sushi rolls were really good. All in all, a really great experience. I would also recommend the calamari. It was light and tender and the sauce was great.

This is an interesting restaurant. It has been there 5 years. This was our first visit. It was very quiet since not many people were there. Parking was free and off street. But as we approached the place, we were worried.

However, the food was good, the portions seemed appropriate to the price, and the service was pretty good. I think that people just don't know about this place.

And we will go back.

I had to go see a doctor in the Med Center so figured I would have lunch here before heading back to Kingwood. I arrived at 11 and they told me I could sit anywhere as I was the first customer. My server came and took a drink order and then I put in my food order when he returned. I tried their shrimp Spring rolls, very nice and fresh and a nice size serving. For the main course I tried one of their lunch suchi combos. I had the spider roll and with that you get a soup or salad and 3 pieces of nigiri sushi. I decided on the salad and a piece of yellowtail, fresh salmon and freshwater eel. The main food came in just a few minutes and was so nicely presented with little bits of micro greens. All this and an iced tea and it was only $18 +tip which isn't bad as sushi can run up in cost quickly!

unfortunately we did not order sushi. we mistakenly thought the folks we were with liked sushi. so i can give no comment on the quality of the sushi. but the first wine we order was not in stock, the second was in a cooler that wasn't working so was warm. the waitress did try to cool it down fast in an ice bucket. the short ribs were not good. the miso soup was tasty and one of our diners enjoyed her shrimp tempura roll. the chicken teriyaki ordered by another diner was just okay. Our server Savannah was pleasant and efficient.

Food was DELICIOUS!
a bit expensive 😒
Drinks are well prepared
they should have specials or happy hour to bring in more crowd
Building looks a lil rundown from outside they should spruce it up to attract clients - inside is nicely decorated.

They must have a magical frier in the kitchen! The fried calamari was light and crispy without a hint of grease. The rolls are unique and delicious, but a little pricey ($15/each). The cheesecake goyza dessert was fantastic. The service was very good. The restaurant was not crowded. The restaurant is decorated well. I will go again

Prices are good for happy hour. Got tons of sushi/food for a good price. Even had leftovers to take home. The food was decent. Not outstanding but not bad. The ribs are huge and only $7 for happy hour and you get three. The baked mussels are pretty good. The Big Texas roll was good as well. Service was okay. Needed extra napkins and had to ask twice to get them.
