CRAVE - Omaha Ratings and Reviews
Went on Valentine's Day and they did not have their regular menu (which had the meals that my date and I were looking forward to enjoying). This was not made clear on tge website so the discovery was quite disappointing. The food available was more expensive than we had anticipated, which was disappointing as the lower cost was one of the primary reasons for us to go there. So we paid more money for food that we did not want coming into the restaurant. The food itself was decent, but not worth the price. I would come back in order to taste the food on their normal menu, but I would not recommend coming here on a special occasion.
Nice experience for us overall. Our table was next to the outside patio against the window. It was a near zero degree night and was just too drafty and cold. After requesting a move to a different table, we settled into a good night's meal!
Our appetizer, the Bamboo Crunch Roll was very flavorful and the sauce topping it was amazing!
My wife had the Tenderloin Medallions, which were tender and flavorful. The accompanying Mashed Potatoes honestly tasted as if they were instant potatoes. Needless to say, they were left behind.
I chose the Chicken Stir Fry. There was a burst of flavor, with just a hint of a spiced hot kick to each bite. It was wonderful.
Ambience was cool. Dining room was very chic and the wait staff was helpful.
We will most definitely give Crave a try again!
Hadn't been to Crave in over two years due to an average meal at best. Their 30% off coupon lured us back. We weren't disappointed. Menu has expanded and offers a wide selection of choices. Good service. Wide range in prices, depending on the meal choice, which should satisfy all budgets. While we didn't have sushi, many patrons were dining on sushi. Parking is easy using the next door garage and you get 3-hours free with a validated ticket (Crave will validate for you). We'll be back.
The first hostess we encountered was rude, which tainted the whole experience. Seemed frustrated when we walked in. There was no clear place to check in because the musician was literally right next to the hostess "stand", which wasn't occupied. When she did come back, the hostess told us that we must have made our reservation too late because it had just showed up (we made them on Open Table an hour before we arrived.) Left us standing there. We finally went over to the bar to grab a drink, but during the ten minutes we stood there, no one came over to take a drink order. There were a few parties in there, that night, but hardly anyone in the bar. Second hostess was much nicer. And our waiter, luckily, made up for the rough start and was super friendly and kind. This is a very loud restaurant. We had to yell across the table at times to hear each other. But if you are in the mood for a party or exciting night out, this could be your place.
My husband and I made reservations before going out to the theatre, it was a special occasion for us since we don't get out much. We were very disappointed with the service. We saw the waiter 3 times throughout our time there, my husband did not have water throughout the entire meal because it was not refilled once until just before we got the bill. At the beginning of our service, we let our waiter know that we wanted to see the dessert menu once we had finished our meal. He said he would bring it to us, but never did. For a restaurant at this caliber, we expected much better service. Our drinks were great, the food was good, but I'm not sure if we'd pay to go back because I would rather go somewhere where the staff makes me feel valued and cared for while I am dining.
Overall it was a positive experience. We didn't have to wait too long for the appetizers or entrees. The drinks were really the only issue, had one drink confused with another drink. Then after ordering a drink again it tasted different the 2nd one tasted quite a bit different...waiter said it was because it was a different bartender making the round. Everyone at the table was pleased with the food from the appetizers to the entrees. Plan on coming back.
We had the tuna poke (maybe the best I have ever had), the chicken wings were HUGE, there was at least 12 mussels on the appetizer plate and fries were great. We had the Chilean sea bass, beef medallions and ny strip (he said it was the best he had ever tasted). Will defiantly be back!
Visited Crave again after a disappointing experience on a previous visit - had promised to give it another shot. I'm very happy to report that the experience was seamless this time! Our waiter was fantastic, the food was very good (better than expected for this level of restaurant), and the Open Table process worked smoothly. I'll be back, and I'm glad that they seem to have made the tweaks needed! Great visit!
We had the crab and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it did not disappoint, we loved it! I ordered the chefs special which was stuffed chicken and I loved it, there were no leftovers. It was a pricey “date” but we will definitely be back. Bre was our waitress and she was very sweet and helpful too!
Our family was home for the Holiday's. We took our daughter and her boyfriend to Crave for Christmas eve. Our waiter was outstanding, very friendly and the service was terrific. The food was wonderful including the wine. We have been to Crave before on various occasions and we have always been happy with our meal and service.
As always, this Crave was superb. We ate at Sunday noon. I had great Eggs Benedict and she had a really tasty cab and shrimp benedict.
The highlight of the lunch was the service. Laura was one of the best servers we have had anywhere! Highly knowlegable of the menu items, friendly, efficient.... and I could run out of superlatives to say.
We will ask for her the next time we make an OpenTable reservation.
Waiter was pushy tried to convince me what to order. First entree option was not available after I had already ordered it and an appetizer pairing.
Second choice arrived and portions were severely lacking almost as if half my dinner was given to the homeless before being served.
Went w/ my Mom for a meal before heading back to NYC. Food was very good overall; a couple points though...the Caesar dressing at Crave is not what you're probably expecting. There is a tangy-ness to it that is good but a little unexpected if not aware. Our appetizer (Firecracker Shrimp) and my Mom's entree (Mushroom Alfredo) were great. My NY Strip came out Medium when I'd ordered MR. Not a huge deal and our server apologized and offered to bring a manager to our table. Will definitely be back but maybe try something where a temperature isn't taken.
We made a reservation for 7pm and when we got there we weren’t seated until after 7:30 pm because “the kitchen was running slow.” There were masses of dirty tables with no one really trying to clean them. We were told we could sit at the bar while we waited but our group of 4 couldn’t sit at a bar that only had one open seat. Instead we sat at a dirty table by the enterance waiting to be seated. Then once seated it took forever to order. Our waiter seemed to disappear. Then after an extended period of time we finally got our food. Our waiter didn’t deliver the food and didn’t check on us again until he was giving us the bill. He even made a joke about the terrible service. “Maybe next time it’ll be slower so I can wait on you guys better.” Maybe if he spent less time walking into the back to flirt with the hostess he’d have more time to wait on people. Overall we were there from 6:50-9 just to eat dinner. This is without drinks, appitisers, desserts, or anything that would prolong the eating experience. We probably won’t be back due to terrible service and for the prices nothing too amazing food wise either.
My guy and I had heard wonderful things about Crave from family who had traveled to Omaha, so we knew we had to try it on our weekend getaway trip to Omaha. The food was fantastic, service was incredible and we enjoyed our visit to Crave. We definitely will recommend it to others and go back when we visit Omaha again.
