CRAVE - Cincinnati - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
I'm generally a big fan of Crave. I love the location, the menu, the atmosphere and being able to make reservations. But, this past visit, our food was mediocre at best, there were no happy hour specials, and the dessert sampler was awful. I also about fainted when I received the bill and saw how much the wine costs added up. It was ridiculous for a Midwest location. My table of four and I were there at peak time on Friday night and the restaurant didn't even have a wait. It appeared half empty; now I see why.
We loved the warm atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of options from sushi to steak. Our service was fantastic. Waiter offered many suggestions. Food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. Restaurant offers a range of atmosphere. Great for pre-baseball or football game and offers a nice area for an intimate dinner.
My husband and I visited Crave on a slow Friday evening the weekend prior to Christmas...the lack of diners should have probably been a clue as to how our evening would turn out.
We were greeted by our server with water, but it took a bit for him to return for a drink order.
Lettuce wraps appetizers were tasty as was the bread basket (which we had to order)
When the server arrived to check on our appetizers, both my water glass and my drink were empty, he did not seem to notice and swiftly turned around ~ I had to ask him to return to the table in order to place another drink order and get a water refill.
Our entrees consisted of the beef stroganoff and grilled mahi mahi, both meals needed a flavor boost.
Not sure if it was just an off night or something else, but we had been wanting to give Crave a try for some time....we have...we will now cross it off of the list.
I have been to Crave on many previous occasions. With each visit, the food and service has declined. This last time, the food was bland, cold, and not much of it. With only four tables of other diners, this was not acceptable. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we did not have the time to send it back. I have given them more than enough opportunities to win my loyalty. I won't be going back.
The restaurant could not seat us at our reservation time. The bar was full, so we could not sit there. The sushi bar was available, but the person I was with is a vegetarian, so that was not an option. After 20 minutes, they still had no idea when we would be seated. Since we had tickets for show, we took the sushi bar, which was uncomfortable for my friend.
While her flat bread pizza was good, my beef stroganoff was not. The noodles were so overcooked, I barely ate anything. Our server was very nice, however, and he did get things for us promptly.
I will not be returning to Crave after this experience.
Made a fairly early dinner reservation for a Friday night due to a concert following dinner. Was hoping for a relaxing, enjoyable dinner. The enjoyable part was met, the food was delicious as usual. However, not relaxing whatsoever, we felt EXTREMELY rushed to get through our meals and get out, to the point that I felt the irritation from the server when I wasn't ready to order after sitting down after two minutes. I was a server in college and I get the chaos that ensues at times but I never rushed anyone out the door. We probably will not return there for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night if that is the norm.
My fiancé and I had never been to CRAVE and it did not disappoint! We were there celebrating his birthday and had such a great time! It was half-price bottles of wine that night and we had some seriously delicious sushi as well. The restaurant was not overly crowded or loud and the menu has a great variety of things to offer. I would definitely recommend!
Crave was an excellent date night spot. I took my girlfriend here for a Saturday night dinner and were treated with great service. Our waiter had great suggestions and took care of us all night. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and my girlfriends sushi was delicious. Definitely a great place and will be back for sure.
Great scene and atmosphere! LOVED our table for eight and they even made me feel like the two little ones were just as important as the adults. We liked the variety of offering on the menu and all was delicious.
Our server was training a new waiter whom we all felt did a better job taking care of us.(Loved him and wanted to tip him instead) We felt the trainer was insincere and rushed us through.
Two hosts greeted us, upon our arrival. Both named Jordan! We were immediately seated. A smiling bartender spoke to us on our way to our table. They said his name was Tyler. Melissa provided excellent service. We had a lite dinner, which was delicious. The Exec Chef/GM, David Miller, and two managers, Jenny and Kate stopped by our table as well as other guests' tables. The food is delicious, and the service, impeccable at Crave.
Hello, we took advantage of the special 3-course dinner for two including a bottle of wine for $50.00. Everything was excellent - great choice of food items on the special menu. On a previous night when we ordered off the regular menu my friend & I ordered the Lettuce Wraps to share. They were the best I've had and would definitely order again. Thank you!
Appetizers were awesome, service was definitely great, dinner options were okay. Wasn't very impressed with Mac and cheese. Ate a few bites and handed it to a homeless gentleman outside the restaurant on the way out. Baby crying next to us but no fault of restaurant. Just ruined our own romantic kid friendly evening!
Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. Unusual but very tasty sides with the entrees. The rice was flavorful. Nice choice of wines with a generous pour. I want to return soon for the "Date Night" 3-course meal with a bottle of wine on Fridays & Saturdays. Thank you for a splendid evening.
The food was good and so was the service, but I expected them both to be better for the price and was a little disappointed as a result. We went for a Saturday date night when no other events were happening at the Banks (no Reds game, Freedom Center event, etc.) and it was fairly quiet with plenty of open tables, and I think it is a place that thrives when busier. It was still a pleasant night and the experience was good, but it was not a foodie night. We partook of the "Date Night" special offer menu which was good value, but if we had paid full price for the items I think it would have been disappointing. Overall good but not great and the value seems to be in the location and scene more than the food and price.
This dining experience was not as good as I expected based on what I'd read, that said we were there on the night of a ball game, maybe the place has a different energy on non-game nights.
Or maybe I just wasn't as thrilled with what we ordered. I had a salad and one of the flatbreads and it was okay. Well prepared, nothing wrong with it in any way, but there was nothing that had me raving. The menu choices seemed pretty decent and the service we received was average.
They do seem well set up for groups with a couple large tables and with a great open space where they can push several tables together if needed.
I made a reservation for three for sushi...we arrived a bit early and explained we had to be out in an hour for the Shakespeare Theater. We were seated immediately, the Sushi menu explained and our order taken. We loved all of the food we ordered and were out in plenty of time.
