Crave - Akron Ratings and Reviews
This was my second time at Crave. My first time was a good experience, but this time it was terrible. Ordered a bottle of wine and a cheese board, wine comes out then a half hour later the cheese board come to the table. We have the cheese board at the table for 5 minutes before our entrees were delivered. So I had the waitress box up the cheese board and asked her to bring us another bottle of wine.
I cut into my steak which I ordered medium, it was as well as well could be. I looked around and couldn't find the waitress so I sucked it up and ate the steak. We finished our meals and had been out of wine for awhile at this point, and the waitress comes back to tell us that the wine we ordered was out of stock but they had another if we would like. So I told her there would be no point and to just bring the check. Mind you, this was on a Tuesday evening, not even a busy night and the service/food was terrible.
Hubby chose Crave for his birthday dinner. We had a nice booth in the bar, it was very cozy and not so loud that we couldn't have private conversation but also not quiet enough to be overheard. Alex was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pronpt. Great menu options and delicious. Interesting and fun drink menu. Overall very good experience. We will definitely be visiting Crave again soon.
We met friends at Crave to celebrate both of our wedding anniversaries. The decor and
Ambience are very modern, but very nice. We had a great half round booth with plenty of
Room for all of us. It was a bit noisy, but what restaurant isn't these days? It wasn't overwhelming. Our cocktails were very good. Each person raved about their entree choice. My husband had the ahi tuna and said it was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles and it was
The best version I've ever had. We had a wonderful evening and can't wait to go to crave again.
This was a first visit for four of the five people in our party and we will certainly return for another visit . The food was innovative and very good. Service was attentive and prompt. It was a Friday evening when we visited and the restaurant was full, but we were able to enjoy our conversation without too much noise. It is unfortunate that we live an hour away and won't be able to visit Crave on a regular basis.
Discovered Crave on Yelp while in town for a conference. Excellent meal. Both of us loved the Tomato & Grilled Cheese Soup - awesome! I had the pierogies which were outstanding and a bit surprising. Dining partner had crab cakes, also very good, but the soup and pierogies were standouts. Highly recommend if in Downtown Akron.
Had gone years before and haven't been back in while. Was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was!! The portion sizes were also quite large and you definitely get your money’s worth. Try the daily specials whenever you get the chance. The staff was also great, very attentive and considerate. Will go again for sure.
Having been to Crave several times before I thought it was the perfect place to take friends who had never been. We were all a little disappointed. My roasted chicken looked and tasted like it was made days before. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I'm sure they would have gotten me another meal had I asked. All other food was just ok, might have been just on off night. Our server was great and attentive, but not overly.
We had to cut the evening short because our friend who has a medical condition could not use the Men's room because of unsanitary conditions. He's not a germaphobe either.
Will give it another try, hopefully it was just a bad night and not the norm.
We had family visiting from lots of different locations and had tickets to Musica to see a band made up of friends from high school (like 40 years ago). We were seated promptly and got started with beverages right away. The table shared a large cheese board along with calamari with shishito peppers, kimchi and truffle aioli. Excellent! Our meals came from every corner of the menu. An amazing smoked trout salad (with extra trout so it could be an entree), Bahn Mi Vietnamese marinated flank steak (I was surprised it came as a po-boy sandwich with rosemary fries, cornflake crusted chicken with manchego and carmelized onions (ditto on the po-boy), angel hair pasta with a decadent creamy sauce, and patagonia salmon. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. A good time was had by all! Then we were off to try to reclaim our youth with a band whose first three numbers were from Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes and Jeff Beck. Smokin'! If you are interested in exploring some of the nightlife that is sprouting up in downtown Akron, Crave is an excellent place to begin your adventure!
It's really no wonder that this place is less and less busy every time we go. The service and attention to detail is just not there anymore. When you screw up a meal twice, making a customer wait for an extra 30 minutes for their dinner, to eat alone because everyone at the table has been done eating, you comp the meal; no questions asked. Perhaps if I had gotten an attitude, this may have happened, but that's not the person I am. I allowed Crave to address their error, but they choose not to. Crave messed up, didn't take responsibility for it, and we won't be back. Such a sham too, because it's always so easy to get a reservation.
I really enjoyed my meal at Crave. I ordered the hanger steak and it was cooked as I ordered it. The feel in the restaurant was good. I wished that the wait staff had come around more frequently to check on us as we had to flag the down a couple of times. Other than that it was a good meal.
Have been coming to Crave for years and it seems to cycle through good and bad times. Thought we would try it again since it's been awhile. Unfortunately we were dissapointed in service and portion sizes vs price. Won't be going back for some time. There are plenty ofgreat restaurants to spend our money at for the quality.
Crave is my favorite place to dine in the Akron area. The menu is constantly changing, but the solid favorites remain on the menu. The food is unmatched in the area. The drink selection always fits the season.
I have dined here for first dates, a five-year anniversary celebration, small holiday parties, and just to grab a drink or three. This place can accommodate any reason to celebrate.
The service is outstanding. All of the waiters are friendly and knowledgable about the menu.
Thank you, Crave, for always providing a fantastic dining experience!
My family of 5 were celebrating a birthday and my sons graduation. We told the waiter, ( I will not list his name) and he said ok. A good server should say Happy Birthday and congratulate the graduate. Not this one. Our dinner was good, but the follow up after our courses came to the table was miserable. My sons drink taken for a refill, never to show up again, waited forever for our plates to be cleared and a dessert menu. We decided to go elsewhere for dessert.
I have eaten around 15 times for lunch at Crave and have loved our service during the day. The build up I had for Crave to my family was a major let down.
We came for lunch as a birthday celebration. We arrived before the place filled. Despite full house the service was good, and we didn't have to wait long for food. We used the valet parking for only $4.00, but were able to leave the car in the lot to go across the street to the art museum. We highly recommend both Crave and the museum.
