Craftsteak - MGM Grand Ratings and Reviews
The food was good but a little over priced. We were there celebrating her birthday and sadly she found a hair in her food after eating over 1/3 of it and then did not want to eat any more. We did not say anything because we were with a group of friends and she did not want it to become a scene or be “the talk” for the evening with our group and/or diminish the celebratory atmosphere. The room we were in was kind of loud too. The servers were on top of it and made sure everyone had what they needed though.
We were disappointed as when the steaks came, the skillets were slightly warm and so were the meats. We had to ask the servers to reheat the steaks. Also the seriver was pushy when we wanted 3 sets of steaks for 5 people, countered with it not being enough and so.we.took her recommendation and we had an entire meal leftover. When you staying in a hotel room, left overs are not worth taking back. At $130 and $170 per person it was a waste. Don't let them talk you ordering too much. Also, check the steaks when it comes to you as warm steaks are.terrible. Not going back again.
Our experience at Craftsteak was excellent. Although it was certainly (a bit) overpriced and expensive, it did not disappoint. My wife and I each had a filet - along with sharing generous sides of asparagus and puree potatoes (finely whipped mashed potatoes). We also enjoyed a bottle of wine (we selected the least expensive on the menu @ $72).
The service was impressive. A team of people were there frequently to check up on us and pour us wine and water. We didn't have to lift a finger. Bread was brought to the table as well.
The setting was gorgeous - and we really enjoyed our dinner. The bill for the two of us, including tip, was about $300. However, I would say that if we have another special occasion to Las Vegas, we would be back. It was a wonderful dinner.
Overall it was an underwhelming experience. The steak itself was the best part of the meal as I’d expect, the dessert was quite good as well. However, the sides (mushrooms) were chewy and seemed under seasoned, the appetizer was also just alright. Biggest disappointment was the service itself. I felt I was talked into an overpriced and somewhat disappointing bottle of wine by my waiter, we had several long gaps between courses, and we waited forever for the check. I’m glad I’ve checked this celebrity restaurant off my list, but I won’t be back.
My husband and I had dinner here before a show but cut it a little close. Olga, Kevin, and Jason made sure we would make it on time without feeling rushed or like the dinner was less of an experience (and it was an experience to be savored). The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. We hope to have the chance to return!
Food was pricey but tasty. Service started out fine but slowed considerably as the meal progressed. We waited about 10 minutes once plates were cleared before our waiter came by to ask about dessert and coffees. That said, overall a good meal and we enjoyed it.
Had an excellent bone-in filet along with a number of items off the cocktail menu. I recommend both of these. Service was good, no major slip-ups or complaints, just a bit less attentive than the absolute hawks and eyes-back-of-head standard at some of Craft's other locations. Prices were a little high for what I got, but that's Vegas for you these days. I'd come back for a special occasion or menu.
Premium priced, but hit and miss on food and service. On the positive side, the steaks were very good, and it is a steakhouse so that counts for a lot. The wine service was also handled well by knowledgeable staff. But, the appetizers were unremarkable or worse. Caesar salad was just a pile of Romaine leaves with dressing on them (anchovies optional) - pretty plain. Lobster salad was not consistent with expectations and was graciously removed from the bill. Oddly, the scallops were seared only on one side. We asked about it and were told that they couldn't be seared on both sides or they would be overcooked. Bizarre, since lots of high end restaurants sear scallops on both sides. Surprisingly, for a steakhouse, they were out of the Prime New York Strip Loin, although we only found that out after we ordered them. Service was sometimes good. Our server got changed halfway through the meal. All in all, a mid-range dining experience at a premium price. Message to the management: if you want to charge top prices, every dining experience has to be top quality.
Was there for my 50 birthday on a trip. Food was solid but not special. Wine list was over the top expensive and list was complex with all the flight combinations. The place is no question very good but there are other places at this level that are better in my view.
Loved the restaurant. It was not as stuffy as some other high end steakhouse restaurants. There were 5 of us and we had the short ribs which were so tender and delicious , chicken, the ribeye and two had filet mignons. All the steaks were perfectly cooked! The servers were fun and knew the menu items and wine well. The sides we had were fabulous potato purée , the cauliflower and the sautéed mushrooms. All were great ! For dessert we had the banana pudding and that was great too. All in all a wonderful night!
Food was average for a steak house but the service was horrible. Brought me a New York, then a Filet wham I ordered a ribeye. By the time the ribeye arrived there was no way I could send it back (because it was med-well when I ordered med-rare ) beacause the rest of my guests had already finished their dinner. To top it off the waiter brings the wrong tab to the table and insisted it was ours until I pointed out we did not order appetizers. Horrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. There are way to many great steak houses in Vegas to put up with horrible service.
Go to Del Frisco’s, I have never been disappointed when I’ve gone there.
Amazing experience! Marvin, our waiter, was in town from a craft Nyc. All around excellent service. Food was amazing. I’ve been to many celebrity chef restaurant and this one actually delivered!! Flat iron- excellent. Scallops- excellent. Cocktails- excellent. All side- amazing!
