Craftsman Row Saloon
Food had a bug. I was slightly disappointed. The service was okay, but I had to keep asking for someone new when I needed something. My milkshake also never came, but showed up on the bill. The food that had a bug in it also showed up and I had to ask for a refund!
Food was very good and milkshakes are very good I will definitely go back again
Great place to eat before seeing a show at Forrest Theater. We got an appetizer, drinks (1 beer, 1 wine), 2 dinners and a dessert for less than $50. We did go during happy hour and got discounted appetizer and drinks so that helped with the cost. The Mac and cheese burger and grilled cheese with tomato was very good. The buffalo cauliflower and brownie/ice cream were also delicious. We will be back for sure! Can’t wait to try the adult milkshakes!
My boyfriend and I came to Craftsman Row after it had been suggested to us by a few friends, saying that the food was amazing (especially the milkshakes), but unfortunately we did not get to learn this for ourselves. Upon entering the premises, we were shocked to learn that it was more so a bar than a date night situation, which was completely on us for not having done research prior to booking a reservation. We stood at the entrance for 5 minutes before being acknowledged by any employee, but were ultimately placed at a small high top table in an extremely dark corner of the bar. My boyfriend was very pleased when he noticed on the menu that the bar stocked PBR's (because not many places sell them these days), so he ordered one and I ordered and received a Corona. Him and I were extremely confused when our waitress came back and expressed that they no longer carried the beer that he ordered, and then slapped a random can of beer on the table instead of asking if there were something else that he'd prefer instead. If only this had been the only issue we'd run into during our visit there.
After an hour of waiting for our food (a crispy chicken sandwich and 10 wings) our waitress came back to our table for the first time after having taken our order to say to us, "If I were you guys I'd just leave, they don't even have your ticket back there"....so quite angrily, we got up and left, having asked to speak to a manager to express our frustration with our experience to then wait another 10 minutes before no manager seemed to be available. Disappointedly, we got up and left and will certainly never be returning.
The food is great, but the service is TERRIBLE. We spent more time waiting for our server than eating. Two servers brought the wrong check twice! Promised us a free milkshake because of how long we had to wait for everything, but it never came out! At that point we just wanted to leave. Wasted two hours there. Terrible service, do not plan on ever coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.
it was over an hour wait just for appetizers and when everything came out it was very underwhelming to say the least. it may have just been a bad night.
The craftsman saloon was a moderate restaurant/dive bar. We’d reserved a table for a “date” (what we’d used on the open table app), and we were seated in the very back by the kitchen. I’m not saying that sitting there ruined our evening, but I would’ve thought a little better for it. No big deal. Service was okay; part of me felt like getting sat in the very back didn’t help us much. Everyone but our waiter kept asking if we’d been helped/did we need anything. Best part of the night, however, was the French onion soup. It was great. All in all, it wasn’t bad. Prices were good, considering what most restaurants around Old City go for.
Server took 20 minutes to get drinks to the table, left after the appetizers arrived
Service was absolutely horrendous. We waited at least an hour for just our drinks. Food was alright, but would not go back. Drinks were not strong, food took an hour and a half to get to us, we were taking bets on how long it would be for us to get boxes.
We had dinner at Craftsman Row Saloon before a show at the Walnut Street Theater, which is very close to the restaurant. The waiter knew we were attending the show but still took a very long time to bring out our drinks , followed by another long wait for our meal. In fact, the manager (owner?) came by our table and asked us how we had enjoyed our meal even before that meal was served; he hustled things up at that point and we just made the show in time.
Great food in a great atmosphere. Kid friendly too!
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. The server Gianna needs more training in being attentive and personable. She never gave her name when we sat down (I didn’t know it until we got the check) then we waited for about 15 mins before she came to take our order. I ordered a drink and never received it and it was put on the bill. Then when I mentioned it she said she forgot to tell me that they were all out. She then proceeds to bring me a similar drink after I told her to take it off my bill. I refused and she sends someone else to bring the drink back to my table. She was horrible!
The food was alright, the pictures on Instagram were pretty deceiving. I wouldn’t mind going back, but I sure am not going to rush back. The service was absolutely horrible. I’m in the restaurant business and it was just so so bad, I couldn’t wait to leave. The waiter also pretty miserable looking. and the floor manager seemed pretty miserable too and there was no organization that I could see
The food was good and the server was evening better
Overall the food was good- was a little disappointed about the milkshakes. The quality of the ice cream was not too good.
My boyfriend ordered a 4 piece country Chicken entree but received a chicken sandwich instead. The host said he was new and he apologized.
Amazing!!!! Food was incredible!!!! I was very impressed!!!! I highly recommend this place
Staff seemed confused with every question we asked. Food was adequate. Milkshakes were more novel then tasty.
The food was great and the service was good!
Servers were amazing. Honey Saracha was great i put the sauce on everything. Carrot cake was pretty dry but great flavors.
I will defiantly go back probably not for restaurant week
We had a very bad experience. Service was very slow, food was not good, my wine glass was dirty and food took so long we were not able to have our dessert since we had tickets to a show.
The food was bland and the service was slow however I loved the atmosphere
Our server was jewel, he was great. However the food wasn’t. We had to send the mussels back because they tasted spoiled, the turkey burger smelled sour, the salmon was greasy and the buffalo wings had to be sent back to cook longer. We weren’t impressed by the food at all.
I had been wanting to go here for a long time. The menu and pictures of the food made me expect the best. I may have put my expectations just a bit too high. The appetizers were great. We had buffalo cauliflower, fried pickle and brisket mac n cheese. All very good keeping my hopes alive. Then dinner came. The food was good, but not great. The burger patties were very small. The buttermilk fried chicken wasn’t very crispy and hard to bite and the cheese on it looked like one of those single Packet pieces of cheese I just wasn’t nearly as impressed as the pictures make it out to be. It’s just bar food really, my expectations should’ve been lower but the pictures got me !!!
Craftsman Row is one of our most reliable pre-theater spots. We enjoy bar food, although on our most recent visit our sandwiches were a little too greasy, and the fries could have been crisper. The service was very attentive, the wedge salad was (as always) crisp and delicious, and this will continue to be one of our go-to restaurants.
The food was really good and the service was excellent. I will be going back again.
We have been here so many times and it never fails!!! We left full and happy as always. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to indulge
Food was okay, service was okay. Typical dive bar, nothing special
Post Bodybuilding show
Food was great, but everything was super slow.
A must have is anyone of the milkshakes.
The food was definitely different but delicious. I will be returning to try something else on the menu.
I came on a Saturday night, and the service was terrible. It took 15 minutes just for us to have a server come to the table. The burgers are good, but the other food was just okay. I made a couple request to my order, and they didn’t honor any of the request. I asked for no bacon on the Brussels sprouts and it was loaded with bacon (the Brussels sprouts were very good though). I asked for a vegetable to be added to my salad (that was on another salad) and it didn’t come with it after I asked.
Nice reasonably priced pub in location convenient to center city shopping and walkable to historical olde city.
Added in gratuity already included. Service staff does not have the incentive to provide better service. The food was very okay. They made my burger well done when no one in my table of 10, ordered a well-done burger. The burger patties are also frozen patties straight from Costco. They're all show on their Instagram.
I have been wanting to come here for a few months now and I have to say I was very disappointed. First of all it took almost 10 minutes before we were sat to even get greeted. After we placed our orders for food and asked for a drink menu it took almost another 10 minutes before our waiter came back and asked us for drinks. We ordered two apps, the poutine fries and Doritos mozzarella sticks. The poutine was not actually poutine, there was not a single curd, simple fries with cheese and gravy melted. The mozzarella sticks was what I was really excited for and they didn’t even come out hot. They tasted like they came from a box and were thrown in the oven , not cooked enough. For our entree we split the Mac n cheese burger, the noodles were undercooked and it completely lacked seasoning. Overall, the service was terrible with subpar food. I do not recommend.
Terrific food and service. Milkshakes are a must have.
It’s an awesome place with a great menu for meals and shakes just not much for juice drink choices. But everything else was outstanding and amazing.
good food and drink. Unique varieties and reasonably priced. Server was very inattentive though, even though it was early in the evening and the place was not very busy. he seemed like we were an inconvenience to him.
Close se to the Walnut Street Theater where we were headed! Surprising menu items that tickled my tastebuds! A little loud but we appreciated the diversity of programming on the televisions! We enjoyed our meals immensely!
