The team at Craft worked to make our night a memorable one; from a personalized menu for the party member who was celebrating her birthday, to helpful suggestions and guidance on the menu, even a tasty muffin to take home for breakfast. The food was outstanding with the risotto being a standout dish. We couldn't have asked for more out of our first visit.
I have visited Craft on 3 separate occasions and in truth have always loved the experience but not on my last visit. The place was cold, our table felt like we were sitting under a very cold fan and the food did little to warm the evening. Perhaps I chose wrong, the pork belly looked inviting but the orange sauce was over powering and bitter. I did enjoy the Corn Agnolotti, it was good and my wife enjoyed her scallops, but all the dishes were luke warm or quickly lost their heat. Overall not a great experience. I chalk this down to a one off and look forward to trying again in the future.
Great food, great service as always. Classy but not stuffy. What a perfect place for dinner.
They really went out of their way to make our anniversary dinner a special experience. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We loved being able to take home the special personalized menus as a memento from the evening.
We celebrated our 20th Anniversary here and they really went out of their way to make it special. Everything we had was amazing and we will definitely be back with each visit to the city. Thank you to the entire staff for helping us celebrate our special day!
What a wonderful dining experience! From the moment we walked in the door, everyone was attentive and friendly. Great recommendations, when asked, about food choices. We started with the braised octopus, wow! I had scallops and my wife had duck breast. With gnocchi. Perfect choices! Very good wine list and knowledgeable sommelier. We look forward to going back.
We ate for lunch and had a Prixe Fix Menu that was very reasonable priced, especially for the amazing food that they served. The wine pairing was the perfect match for what we ate and the flavors were unique and done with great taste and talent. We were in a bit of a rush, but we never felt hurried and the food came right on time, which allowed us to savor the food, while not losing our time to get back to where we needed to go. Overall, this is an amazing place to eat!
Remains an all-time favorite. Many restaurants falter and lose their center after so many years. Craft still has their quality menu and service and has mellowed beautifully. Cannot wait to return.
Could not have had a better birthday celebration! Thank you.
Very attentive! It was our son’ s birthday and they made it special.
All courses were excellent, trying to figure out the seasoning of the gratin potatoes as we grow our own
Very time we’re in NYC, we try and make it a point to have dinner at Craft. The food is always fabulous and the service is exceptional. We are always rested as special guests.
I have been looking forward to dining at this recent ever since I first become aware of Chef Tom Colicchio via the Top Chef franchise. My husband and I go to NYC every so often as he grew up in NY and CT but we live in Virginia so when just the two of us travel we always try to hit a restaurant on our list. This had been on my list and we were finally able to make it work. The menu is elegant in its simplicity and seasonality and the somewhat overwhelming wine list is easily navigable with an excellent sommelier on staff. We received just the right amount of attention from every attendant and our server and every bite from first course to dessert was a delicious dream. We thoroughly enjoyed our parting gift of muffins for the next morning too - what a special and sweet touch!
Second time at Craft and it was as good as we remembered. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. The dinner started with an amuse bouche prepared by the kitchen. We had the steak and the short ribs. Both were wonderful but the star of the evening was the side dish of gnocchi. Simply amazing!
Amazing as always.
Great place delicious food fantastic ambiance definitely a go to place
Outstanding service, food, and wine! One of the most amazing dining experiences all of us have ever had. Service was impeccable and both friendly, engaging and completely unobtrusive. Everything we ordered was beyond delicious!
Really felt like the staff at Craft cared. Food was amazing. The only hiccup came when we received the wrong fish. ( should have been swordfish instead of halibut) This was quickly remedied. They left the halibut free of charge( which tasted anazung by the way). And brought the swordfish later. I could recommend this place to anyone looking for a special evening.
We went to Craft to celebrate our 21st anniversary. Our server was attentive and fun without being intrusive. We were seated next to another couple also celebrating an anniversary, which made it fun. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The assistance we were given to match wine to the food we ordered (without busting our budget) was perfect. This is a very special restaurant.
We had an amazing meal, amazing service, amazing attention to detail. And, as we were leaving, the hostess gave us apple muffins to go. Who does that? Amazing!
My sisters and I went for dinner Thursday evening. We had the best time, service, food, friendly staff...
I cannot say enough good things! It was wonderful.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Fois gras, gnocchi, pasta, cocktails, dessert. Stellar!
Unbelievable food. The Mission Fig tarte with Raspberries was out of this world.
Service was great but we did have to wait 30 minutes for our table. Food was very good but we were told that the lobster was 1 1/2 lbs...it wasn't, more like 3/4 lb, so that was disappointing. Everything else was great but a bit under seasoned at times. We were compt our drinks and dessert for the wait without even asking. Impressive.
The atmosphere was excellent. The food was great and served in larger sharing plates. The wine selection was exceptional and the service was top notch.
My husband and I dined at Craft to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Everything about the entire experience was superb. From the moment we walked into the door and were greeted so warmly. The Braised Octopus was hands down the most delicious octopus we have ever had, melt in your mouth delicious. The Maccheroni was just yummy! The personalized menus, the uber attentive staff. A wonderful all around experience and I am so happy we chose to come here to celebrate our milestone.
Service was not great. Waitress abandoned us early on and the manager had to step in. Did not matter because waitress appeared to be disinterested. Manager nice but food came out all at once instead of in order. Hard to get attention for a drink order. Food was good as usual. We come here every 6 weeks or do and have never encountered this. May wait awhile before returning.
We are repeat diners at Craft. Has seasonal menu. Food consistently great, as is service. Was a bit annoyed that they attempted to give us a crappy table when we're repeat diners, but that was easy to solve. Fun cocktails. Pricy.
We were celebrating our 45th anniversary. When we arrived and were seated the menu we received had our names along with an anniversary greeting. The service and food were wonderful and it was topped off with a complementary glass of a fine champagne. The Craft made this an occasion to remember!
The food was delicious and service impeccable. But the restaurant is expensive and I hate it when your main course does not come with a side and you have to pay for it separately.
Being visitors from Sydney, Australia we were impressed by all aspects of Craft, from the warm welcome, great food, lovely wine to the service from all staff. This is both a restaurant we will return to, and recommend to others
Came here for lunch. Not what it used to be. In serious need of a facelift and so so food and mediocre service.
Great food especially the duck and pasta. Great service and reasonably priced for what you get.
Complacency at its best. I was absolutely ecstatic about eating here! Tom Colicchio’s flagship restaurant!! This is going to be amazing, I thought. It certainly had the price tag for it. However, when my friend and I got there, they were running behind and it took a while to be seated. But honestly that’s not a big deal-things happen. Our cocktails were good and they have an extensive and amazing wine list. We both did the tasting menu. It was lackluster at best. The plates were clean but frankly the food was boring. No standout or unusual flavors. I would expect such a well known restaurant from a famous, groundbreaking chef to be pushing the envelope-with food to make my taste buds sing. Instead it was just okay with a price tag that would suggest otherwise. Complacency at its best. In fact, the previous evening, my husband and I went to a local, hole in the wall, Sicilian restaurant in our home town in Western Massachusetts. I had a way better meal there. My wallet had a better time too.
Came to Craft for my girlfriend's birthday. Food was amazing, servers and management were very polite. Only issue I had was that there was a 45 minute delay in getting a table even with a reservation. The management team was polite enough to compensate us a few drinks and some food though. Overall, it was a good experience and I would be happy to come back.
One of the strangest dining experiences I've had. Bad from start to finish. The hostess was incredibly rude from the moment she greeted us. We waited for over 40 minutes for our table, and did not so much as ask when the table might be ready until about the 25-30 minute mark. The service was incredibly slow. I had to practically beg for the check. The food was not good. The pasta tasted oddly stale and clumped in a way spaghetti should not. The duck was actually cold. It was bizarre. Really didn't expect this, and have never given a restaurant lower than 4 stars-- maybe I'm an easy grader, but this place still failed.
Everything was great, food was amazing, service was great, all except $6 for a coke?? Really? The prices are steep there, high prices for small portions.
Dishes with seasonal vegetables and fruits, we had the tasting menu and it was light and not too heavy. My favorites were the lobster spaghetti and the duck dish. Both had amazing rich sauce that wasn't too over powering, but enhanced the protein. The dessert was good, frozen peach mousse, but I was over powered by coconut flavor, I could have used more peach flavor. The staff were attentive and pleasant. Would like to go visit again to try other dishes.
Incredible meal! They made it so special for our anniversary. Would love to go back anytime!
I live in Syracuse and am a fan of Top Chef, so I needed to know if Tom Colicchio was all everything that the chefs said he was. And he did not disappoint; my hubby took me there for my birthday. And we both ordered the tasting menu, it was amazing. Me being a fan of food knew what everything was, but my hubby did not, but he enjoyed everything right down to the amuse bouche which was a raw oyster (I was surprised.) There was so much flavor in every dish I didn’t want it to end, it was perfect.
Even the staff was amazing, we were waited on by Caesar which was such a gem. He even printed out my own menu to take home with my name on it, at the end of the meal I was present with an ice cream cake sandwich with a candle and Happy Birthday spelled out on the plate. And knowing I was a fan of the show Ceaser had asked if I wanted a tour of the kitchen (and of course I did), so the assistant manager Mia Mignot took us down there and took pictures.
The experience there was truly special, I will be going back for EVERY special occasion. It was worth the 4 hour trip.
Great business meal location. Food is awesome. Service a little slow if you don’t have a lot of time.
