Amazing food, drinks, and service.
The food was excellent, but the service by our waiter was terrible. The host had to take our beverage and food order because the waiter never came to our table.
Yes, my husband and I still date. Craft is a super awesome place to dine. The food was tasty.
Steven and his staff were very attentive and helpful. We were caught up in the lunch rush. Things were a little backed up with lunch reservations. They worked it out and the food was worth the wait.
Food was disappointing and we still have to wait 20-25mins to be seated when i were on time for the reservation.
Restaurant Week meals in New York can be disappointing; we've encountered rushed and surly service, uninspired menu items and tiny portions. Our lunch at Craft on the first day of this Winter's Restaurant Week was the exact opposite - we were treated to gracious service, interesting menu choices, and normal portion-sized delicious food. We almost didn't order the braised chicken thighs entree because it sounded like many chicken dishes that we've eaten before, but the dish turned out to be revelatory - with rich and complex flavors and wonderful textures. After the meal, I looked online to see if I could find a recipe, and instead found a classic Craft dish - braised short ribs, which, to my eye, had many of the same cooking techniques and ingredients that had been used in our Restaurant Week lunch entree. This was our first visit to Craft, and we now want to return for our birthdays , celebrations with loved ones, or other meals that we want to be particularly special.
Restaurant was freezing cold, food was cold, service terrible, and staff/management did not seem to care.
It’s hard to find fault with the food. It’s beautifully prepared. This lunch we had a Brussels sprout salad that was a bit too funky with what tasted like anchovies and cheese—a bit much for the portion size, but interesting. The chicken liver mousse was excellent, super creamy and delicious. The skate was with a cauliflower purée was excellent but the portion size was rather petite. The steak was a good sirloin, but indifferent. The desserts were good, but unexceptional. Despite a request for the back of the restaurant, we were seated in the front by the windows. There appears to be no point in requesting a table. The front of house was unwilling to even acknowledge the request. I love the Collicho restaurants, but this ended up being a forgettable Restaurant Week pro forma exercise. Too bad.
The service was abysmal, and it completely ruined the entire experience. The food was mediocre, much worse than expected. Do not recommend.
The food was certainly good but I was disappointed that they didn't have my first choice of entree from the menu. Also, although it was freezing cold outside, it was quite cold inside.
Would certainly recommend Craft, everything was terrific!
My beautiful wife and I had a wonderful meal (tasting menu with wine)!!
Great meal with attentive service.
Wine list prices were a little over the top. Almost nothing under $125 per bottle and most over $200. Service was amazing. We loved the tasting menu.
Still great after all these years. Everything from the table spacing to the lighting to the music and overall sound level makes for a perfect dinner environment. Not dull, but not vibrant. Just right. Food is simply prepared, but excellent and beautifully presented and served. A bit on the expensive side, but the overall experience more than justifies it.
Excellent service and delicious food.
Rude wait staff, surprisingly
Our go to restaurant if we want the very best meal in NYC, but in a comfortable, non-stuffy environment.
And a shout out to our favorite wait staff, Ed. A real professional!
We loved craft! The beet salad was a pleasant surprise as was all beets! Our favorite items were the lamb shank and potatoes Aligot. You really made my husbands night with the happy birthday message on the menu! Oh and the donuts with cardamom were exquisite! We would love the recipe as our friend Joan said they tasted just like what her mother used to make! We loved all of the veggies! Thank you for doing your brussel sprouts without bacon as they are so delicious they need nothing!!! Our server was amazing and funny! An amazing experience!
We ordered the tasting menu and all but one of the courses was outstanding. The fourth course, the waygu beef wellington, was very chewy. I could only eat one bit of it, so I left most of it on my plate and no one inquired about it or asked me about it. I think that for the price we were paying, someone should have paid attention to that especially because it was supposed to be one of the heavier dishes of the tasting menu.
Always a great meal at Craft and wonderful service!
I have always wanted to dine at Craft. While the ambiance and service were fantastic, the food itself was a real disappointment. Nearly the entire meal was extremely over-salted, and at the same, the flavors (except for the cocktails, which were great!) were very uninspired and had no flavor, except for salt. I was really disappointed with the food, especially for the price. The steak and potatoes gratin were delicious, but that is about it. I will not go there again.
The tasting menu was outstanding, the perfect 5 course meal. The burnt ice cream at the end was one of my favorite desserts. The staff could have been more hospitable, it seems they have become routine at service.
Too noisy and the booth benches are way too high for the majority of women (feet are swinging!)
Food was Fabulous! Drinks were great too
Stopped by the restaurant on my way home because I didn't feel like cooking. I had a great meal of beet salad, seared halibut and gnocci while seated at the bar. The wine list is exceptional at Craft and I found a fantastic chardonnay by the glass to compliment the meal.
Always a wonderful meal!
Craft is very good but not what it used to be. The amuse bouche was cold and not intense enough. The risotto nowhere near as good as it used to be. There are no special dishes for two like there used to be. especially at holiday season. Most of what they serve is still outstanding -of best quality. It has just lost the magic. Some of the places we go to have been around just as long and have remained consistent.
I have been coming here with my partner for a number of years now. The food and service is always exquisite. The short rib and baked foie gras are always on point. The pasta offerings vary, however again are always delicious. Craft as a restaurant is phenomenal, and deserves a better standard of dress from its patrons. The only let down is that the restaurant doesn’t serve espresso coffee options.
Great experience, restaurant is always outstanding. Bring back the dover sole!
We were honestly a little underwhelmed for the price point. The appetizers were the best part of the meal, while the collection of protein selection main courses were perfectly fine, they just were not memorable. Side dishes were a bust - lukewarm potatoes and $15 for literally 3 small pieces of bland roast cauliflower. If At $100 pp for dinner, I have fairly high expectations for dishes that are both interesting and well executed. The wine list seemed to run on the crazy end of the price spectrum too. Oh well.
It was by far the most lackluster meal we have ever had. Management was very responsive. Service was excellent.
Delicious and delightful.
Outstanding service, but unfortunately everything was either bland or incredibly salty. Not the quality I was expecting from this restaurant.
Loved everything. The food was excellent, service was fantastic. So, nice to be able to share meals family style and the tables were wide enough to accommodate. Love that the pastry chef was able to complete a special dessert request.
For almost 10 years I’ve been coming to Craft for every special occasion.
It NEVER disappoints. That’s a rare thing, and that’s also why it’s my favorite restaurant of all time!
Great dinner, drinks, service and atmosphere!
We always have a fantastic feast at Craft and simply adore the exceptional service, welcoming servers and gracious hosts! Keep up the excellent work, wonderfully consistent menu offerings and superior quality!
everytime we go here it's fancy but also feels like home.
Good spot. Unmatched professional service. Food was good, but better value elsewhere at this price point.
