Phenomenal meal, excellent service. The braised short rib melts in your mouth. The purée potato and roasted carrots and cessation sales was beyond fabulous. The lychee sorbet was to die for as was the coconut and pomegranate. I would go back any time. It was one of my top 3 meals.
It took the kitchen almost 2 hours to get out food out....were told the Health Dept. was visiting at that time and meals would be late. But 2 hours to wait was a bit much and the restaurant didn’t even offer us anything for our inconvenience.....
Craft is a solid restaurant. They had a riesling special where bottles that usually go for 200+ was 40-80 a bottle. Very good deal. However, the food is on the pricier side. The food was very solid but did not stand out for the price you're paying. The potato puree (read mashed potatoes) were very good.
It seems increasingly difficult for restaurants to stand out in a sea of options these days, but Craft succeeds in every way. The food, hospitality, attention to detail are rare qualities this gem still boasts after 17yrs.
We came here for our anniversary. From the hostess congratulating us, to the complimentary glass of bubbles we were greeted with, our names written on the menu, and attentive waitress aware of our allergy, the staff made us feel like it really was the special occasion we were there for.
We shared the roast Amish chicken and wagyu short ribs, perfectly prepared and portioned. As sides, we ordered the assortment of mushrooms, and half order each of the gnocchi and potato aligot, all were fabulous (the aligot is a must! Gooey cheesy goodness!). I love that they were kind enough to allow for half portions so we could try more of the sides.
For dessert we shared the doughnuts, pain perdu and chocolate mousse torte. We polished everything! Can’t go wrong with any of them.
Because we loved the food so much, the kind hostess offered us a visit of the kitchen, what a treat!
For a memorable occasion, Craft holds its own superbly. We can’t wait to go back.
I went there for a business lunch. It was a very quiet environment and I love the decor. The food was good quality, clean and delicious. Worth to note that they only have prefixe option. My fellow male diners got the grilled flat iron steak and commented it was quite tasty. I got the grains salad which was light and refreshing and filling at the same time - exactly what I was going for. First course, I went with fluke crudo and opted for red snapper substitution. The presentation was beautiful and flavoring well-balanced to keep the fish as star of the dish. A Job well done to the kitchen team.
Low noise level
Hight level of food
Wonderful attentive service. Great food.
We haven't been to Craft in a long time (both LA and NYC) and we were a little disappointed. The kale salad was delicious and the hen of the woods mushrooms as we remembered it. The rigatoni was nothing special and the fish the same--plain, simple. Dessert was the real disappointment. We ordered the apple tart and it stuck to our teeth. Even the vanilla ginger gelato didn't have much taste. When we left the restaurant, they handed us crushed muffins and the young girl was taken aback when we said we didn't think she wanted to send us home with those. She did go back to the kitchen and brought new ones. Usually we are big fans of Craft and sadly, I'm not sure we would go back so soon :(
Service was great but the food was average and very overpriced for what you get.
Delicious lunch and the staff went out of their way to make my son’s birthday lunch a special one.
Impeccably crafted food. Simple yet pristine flavors. Portions are adequate. The price tag is relative to the level of service which was attentive but a bit snobbish .
Overall a wonderful meal just slightly over priced
Nice Place to have a very good lunch at reasonable price.
I've been going since it opened, and they still deliver a tremendous experience. The food is better than ever and the overall quality still unmatched.
Excellent dining experience
Everything was great. We tried a lot of first for us and there was nothing we can away from not liking. The only negative was the chair I had to set in for 2hrs was like a rock. But the rock was overly outweighed by the food.
Super food and wine, great service, overall a wonderful find.
Food was good. Veggies were just ok.
Service very good.
Never a disappointment excellent service and food ....a NYC favorite
The food was excellent. However, the waiter was arrogant and inattentive. It took 25 minutes after being seated for him to appear and then he expected us to order immediately. Food was thrown down on the table with zero explanation. I didn’t get a chance to complain because no one checked on us. I have been to the Atlanta Craft several times and the experience was excellent. I will never go back to Craft NY.
Food was fantastic and the service was awesome!! Would highly recommend this restaurant!!
The seafood and fish preparations were particularly well done!
Cesar was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Very accomodating and the food was delicious.
It was a wonderful experience dining at Craft . Food, Service,&ambience were 5stars. The octopus and ribeye were excellent as were the salads and desserts
We had a fabulous meal there Sat. night, 6 people in total. It was our second time to Craft. The noise level is low enough that 6 people at a rectangular table could have an easy conversation that everyone could hear. That's HUGE in a good restaurant in the city! The music wasn't so loud that it drowned out our voices. The food is AMAZING! Everything is very simply made with basic preparations and sauces, nothing too crazy. The sides are a la carte and abundant so everyone can share. The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and can guide you through the menu and drinks. Of our group, everyone loved everything they had, and that's saying a lot. I had Dover Sole this time, roasted in a delicious white wine, butter, caper and seasonings blend. The fish melted in my mouth! The vegetables are so good (roasted cauliflower, broccoli, carrots) that we ate them to the last crumb! We had potatoes gratin and gnocchi, unbelievably good! And the desserts were very creative and luscious! They even have fresh brewed tea, which is my favorite way to end a meal. I can't say enough about Craft. It is pricey, but worth every penny. Definitely a go-to place for a special occasion, at the very least!
The food was delicious. The servers attentive and knowledgeable. The parting muffin was the cherry on top. Definetly going back! Worth every penny!
Another great dinner at Craft. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was very attentive. Excellent specialty cocktails as well
Always excellent. Great food, service and atmosphere. One of my favorite places to dine. Love the hen of the woods mushrooms too!
The smoked linguine with coddled egg & caviar was sinfully rich and incredibly delicious. Other parts of our meal were good but not truly special.
Was looking forward to celebrating my wife’s birthday here after an evening at the theater. We had a 930 reservation and when we arrived we were told at the kitchen closes at 9:30?! Ordered ala carte and was disappointed with the food. The crudo had fish scales, the salad was very overdressed, the monkfish was lackluster and the spinach was pretty simple. For the price I expected a lot more. Additionally, there was a fire in the kitchen and a long wait between courses. The mood was dampened by firemen walking thru the restaurant. Unfortunately the table next to us was using their dinner as a work meeting. Laptops and files were out on the table and their conversation was very loud. We were trying to celebrate a birthday and felt like we were instead at coffee house. Our server was friendly but didn’t really check on us. Overall a disappointing experience, save your money.
In from California and I wanted to always try Craft. It definitely lived up the hype. If you are looking for a good tasting meal and a nice evening with some special, I would highly recommend choosing Craft!
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here - a great room with a casually elegant feel. Attentive and friendly staff and some great dining choices. The pudding menu did indeed tempt us and the chocolate soufflé is fantastic!
This elegant yet relaxed restaurant has delicious food...beautifully presented and so tasty. It is a place to go for that special event...be it a first date, a birthday or a group of friends who want to have a night to remember. Highly recommended.
Best veggie side dishes in NYC. Fish came out a little cold but they fixed it right away. Very nice severs. Doughnuts and soufflé were amazing.
Amazing dinner. Fabulous menu, great wine list. The service is over the top. Its not necessarily inexpensive, but very much worth it for a special occasion.
Service was great and food was a flavor explosion in my mouth. Would highly recommend. I’ve been to a couple of 1 star Michelin restaurants. I would def rank Craft up there.
Food was amazing setting was beautiful we couldn’t choose a better restaurant.
I love Craft. It's always such a treat to go there with a friend or two. I've taken many
people there to celebrate their birthdays. I will only go to "conscious" restaurants, and
although there are more these days, much still needs to be done. I love Tom Collichio's
philosophy and I appreciated his letter to restaurant workers about the harassement issue.
I'm boycotting Mario Batali's restaurants as an aside...
Thanks for your attention to detail and the care you take in your preparation
Disappointing. Food was salty but bland. Not worth the price or the time.
We went out for a belated Valentine’s Day celebration and ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings—AMAZING! Will definitely be back for another special occasion!
