Amazing hospitality—the team went above and beyond to make it a special meal for our young daughter, who is a huge Top Chef / Tom Colicchio fan and on her first visit to NYC. The food, as expected, was also special; an all-around memorable experience for all of us.

As always craft delivers an unbelievable experience, the food is always delicious and tonight exceeded all expectations, the highlight was the chestnut agnolotti. We were so pleasantly surprised with personalized happy anniversary menus that made the night even more special

The service is phenomenal as always and we can not wait to get back to our favorite place for Easter!

Thank you again to the staff and chefs !!!

Craft used to be one of my go to places. However, on this visit service was slow and inattentive and though there was one outstanding dish the rest of the items on the tasting menu were mediocre. There was a large party seated near us so perhaps this was just an off night.

Our waiter was not attentive and our service was very slow...the food and wine was amazing. But the slow service almost ruined the experience.

Good overall experience. Seated at nice corner table. Wagyu duo was very good as was arctic char starter and assorted mushrooms. Subdued scene, lacked energy. Server fine, though not terribly personable.

We were seated promptly as per our reservation time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and responded well to our questions regarding individual menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed our drink food and dessert choices. Will definitely return to try other menu items. The ambience was smart/casual and not noisy.

Overall this was a good dinner spot. However, we waited over 45 minutes for appetizers. When we notified the waiter it seemed that he hadn't put in our order, at the good came within 15 minutes of asking him. Then they tried to rush the apps off the table for the main course. He did comp us a round of drinks for the wait. Not sure I'd make this spot a repeat offender.

Relaxing ambience with great music (White Stripes, Vampire Weekend) and refined food. The food was perfect. The wine list impressive and extensive. For the quality of the food, you don’t overpay.

Simple preparation elegant presentation and —-perfection!
No salt or pepper on the table- what does that tell ya? Tom expects seasoning to be on point and it is?
Cocktails and deserts are consistent with the rest and don’t disappoint.

I love this restaurant. The food, wait staff, and everything is always so great. It's also not super loud, so you can actually carry on a conversation at a normal tone of voice. I've been here for Thanksgiving and for regular dinner, and I was very happy with everything.

Always good food, farm to table, and prepared perfectly without trying too hard as many modern restaurants are guilty. It is not a cheap meal, but service, ambience and wine selection all tops ...so you get what you paid for plus a staff that serves with a smile.

We were celebrating our anniversary and the waiter brought us two glasses of champagne, which was great. Unfortunately, when we checked in we were told that the health inspector was making a surprise inspection. We didn't know that meant that the kitchen was shut down as a result. There was no food for over and hour and half. We would have left but for the difficulty in finding another reservation to celebrate an anniversary on a moment's notice. We had a 7:45 reservation and left at 11pm. We missed the comedy show we'd bought tickets for. Our steak for two finally arrived and it was bland, had no flavor and was cold. Complimentary drinks were offered throughout the evening, and dessert, and the staff was cordial but we were starving and still unsatisfied after we ate our dinner. We should have left and enjoyed the comedy show instead.

Everything fell flat. I am so incredibly disappointed by the food. *Full disclosure* there was a “health inspector” here on the Friday night we came to the restaurant and they warned us that service would be slow. We expected slow service but we didn’t expect below average food. We ordered: octopus carpaccio, fois gras (we never actually got it), parpadelle, sunchokes, gnocchi, risotto, rabbit, short rib, and scallops. The octopus was incredibly salty (& I love salt but it was too much), the parpadelle was good but not anything special, the sunchokes were interesting to be honest and I am happy I ordered this dish, the gnocchi was AWFUL. I love gnocchi and it was the worst gnocchi I have ever had in my entire life. It honestly tasted like they thought the order was for mashed potatoes and last minute realized it was for gnocchi n they just rolled balls of mashed potatoes together. The risotto was actually potentially the best - it was fragrant but undercooked (by this I mean it was a hard rice consistency and not the soft delicate risotto you look for). The rabbit was done two ways, wrapped in bacon was fine, the pot pie was very tasty and I wish I could have ordered that on its own. The short rib was definitely tender but there was no flavor, even when drenched in the sauce. The scallops was one of the other dishes that was actually good - but not anything super special.

All in all, I was incredibly disappointed. I am a huge fan of Tom Colicchio and hoped his food would at least meet the standard of the first chef eliminated from Top Chef but it didn’t even do that.

The one saving grace - the wine. I wish we had ordered more.

Service was excellent. On the particular night we were there, a surprise health inspection took place. The staff all continued to inform us of the delay and accommodated as best as they could. Overall a good experience.

We had a wonderful experience ! Service is spot on and ambiance is very relaxing. Steak , Brussels sprouts ,and assorted mushrooms were fantastic. Duck was ok and I would not order again as that cut was fatty and a bit bland . Extensive bar menu ; only critique would be carry more than 1 Rose . Nice touch of giving a lemon poopy seed muffin to take home as well as special bites throughout the meal. Expensive but we will return.

Wonderful service and exceptional dishes. The special appetizer that was given to us by the chef was an extra special touch to our already amazing time at Craft. The sommelier helped us select a wine and it was exquisite.

Perhaps it was an off night but 2 of our 4 entrees were not up to the standards of past visits. The rabbit pot pie was overwhelmed by the bacon in it and the swordfish did not have enough pesto on it to give it much flavor. We ordered 3 desserts with one of them being just fair ( it did not get finished) . Ordered 3 sides and the potato and cheese dish came out a little like wall paper paste, it did not get finished. You could hardly get it off the serving spoon. The two first courses were fine. We were disappointed to say the least. This used to be our favorite restsurant in NYC

Excellent experience at Craft. Great service, great atmosphere and impressive food. Definitely get the side of mushrooms! Unexpected perk- delicious non-alcoholic cocktails for the pregnant lady in the crowd.

I've liked this restaurant for years. The kitchen had a hiccup with the seared foie gras. These things do happen.

Most unfortunately, our waiter disappeared along with this unusual 20 minute glitch, with no communication whatsoever. This part of the minor incident was clearly under his control, yet he somehow got completely flustered and evacuated our area of the dining room (perhaps we should have left also?). This included not checking the level in our wine glasses for over 20 minutes. Foul! If there are issues in the kitchen, the front house staff should do MORE, not less, to reassure their guests. No?

I always recommend Craft to my friends. It's a perfect combination of great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. And it's not pretentious. If it were, all the food and service would mean nothing.
It's a down to earth place and Tom Collichio's heart is in the right place.
