They were very accommodating and helpful when we needed a table for 5 due to a late arrival. Beautiful bar and well spaced tables made the evening delightful. Sumptuous good food choices that were well prepared and shared family style. Excellent service from the hostess stand to the bartenders/waiters.

We had an early reservation (5:30) because we had to be out by 7:20 to head to the theatre for our 8 PM performance. The waiter (forget his name but he was from Philadephia) was fantastic and very helpful with food suggestions and also how to proceed with our dinner based on our post-dinner plans, which he asked about when he first introduced himself. We shared a salad and pasta for the table (easily enough for 3 and even our 4) and then we each ordered our own entree and two sides (also good size portions for sharing). Everyone loved the food and I think we benefitted from the early dining time because the room was less crowded and therefore quieter. The restaurant came recommended to us by a friend and we are now fans who will recommend it to others. The final, very special touch, was being handed a muffin as we left. We enjoyed the muffin, which was delicious, the next morning.

Very disappointing. This was not our first time. 2 course lunch was skimpy, and for the most part tasteless. No bread is served. Husbands soup, potato leek, was at room temp and was about 3 0z. in a very large bowl. It took about 8-10 minutes for it to be reheated by which time I had eaten my liver pate. My main course was the wagyu steak for which there was a $5.00 additional charge. It was probably the smallest portion of meat I have ever been served! And the largest middle piece was solid fat! The chimichurri sauce was a few crumbs of something green. The potatoes were covered in sat flakes. My husbands burger, on the other hand, was totally salt free.
Martini was $17.50 and sat at the bar , in a shaker for about 5-6 minutes before it was served.
Perfectly chilled water.
We will not return

Amazing service! High quality food and great selection of wine and cocktails. Our server was Mezra (sp?) and he took the time to consider our interests and make sure we were happy throughout the service.

This was our first time dining there, so he went through the menu and suggested the best options for our group.

First courses were Oysters, braised octopus, pumpkin angotolli, and foir gras. Octopus was decent size for an appetizer, but I only wish it was braised a bit longer for those tasty crispy pieces! Foir gras was very impressive with glazed figs, best I’ve had since Paris! Pasta was a nice warm touch, a good seasonal choice.

Main dishes were great, we each got our own. We definitely went overboard with food because of the occasion, but totally worth it. Two of us chose the Waygu beef tri-tip, the roasted Duck, and the Quail. Beef was nice and tender, roasted duck had a sweet glaze with a specialized Honey and Cognac, and the quail was super tender and flavorful with the balsamic marinade. We had the Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and the Au gratin potatoes for our sides. Wow so filling!

But that wasn’t enough for us, dessert was definitely in order. We did a sorbet and ice cream assortment, chocolate soufflé, and the sugar raised doughnuts. All so good, I personally loved the chocolate soufflé and the doughnuts and banana sorbet has great flavors, great with my cappuccino.

Great job craft, you make a great first impression!! Will definitely recommend and plan to return soon.

Had lunch. Nice interior. Polite and friendly service. Not impressed with food. Would have been impressed 20 years ago but not today. I little too much salt in ragu, arugula salad was a little wilted, focaccia a little too soft. The general feeling is that everything was precooked or at least some of the dishes were prepared the day before. Disappointed.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Craft. My husband and I and another couple, our best friends, were celebrating our 40th anniversary and the evening couldn't have been any better. The atmosphere, the food and the special treatment we received from our server, Cesar, was world class.
We will certainly look forward to another terrific dinner at Craft the next time we visit NYC!

Somebody has clearly taken his/her eye off the ball at Craft. Looking for an unpretentious, low-key restaurant to celebrate my partner's birthday, I made a reservation at Craft in hopes that it would live up to the plaudits and its 4.5-star ratings average. I liked the ethos and simplicity of farm fresh, seasonal produce and meats its menu promoted, but the real clincher is the restaurant's wine list. My hats off to the sommelier whose services we didn't use, but I wish the quality of the wines would've matched the food. Sadly, our drink experience far surpassed our food experience at Craft.
While our reservation was on the later side (9.30pm to account for trick-or-treating and Halloween parade crowds), that's not a legitimate excuse at any fine dining restaurant for the rather unsatisfying meal we had. The majority of our food was served at varied temperatures between tepid and just cold. My partner ordered the Wagyu tri-tip and asked for it to be cooked according to the chef's recommendation - which was met with the rather lackluster response: 'medium.' He instead asked for it 'medium rare.' When it arrived cold, he told them as much. We'd hoped that they wouldn't simply put it back on the grill to warm it up, but that's exactly what the chef did. The meat came back marginally warmer, yet chewy and closer to well done than even medium. It had lost all semblance of its former glory as a respected piece of Wagyu beef.
We'd ordered a few vegetable sides to go with our meal (my pasta dish is barely worth a mention - I finished less than half due to its confused flavour profile which went from sour to salty to bitter - and temperature was again an issue). While the Hen of the Woods mushrooms would've been glorious had they not been roasted to within an inch of their lives, the best side was oddly enough the roasted Brussel sprouts. But as my partner remarked, he can make them equally as well on our grill at home - for less than a quarter of the price!

Lives up to its reputation! Lovingly crafted food that included some of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. My daughter and I were celebrating her birthday, and I’m happy we chose this beautiful restaurant. Service was personable and professional. Ambience was warm, sophisticated, and lively, but not too rambunctious. Craft was excellent because of the quality food, but with extra touches that elevated our experience. For instance, my daughter’s menu was personalized with a birthday greeting and then presented to her as a keepsake. Also, Craft served a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle. They also graciously packaged our leftovers (servings were generous), and even gave us two delicious muffins for our next day’s breakfast. Here’s what we ate and drank:
Sonoma County Pinot Noir - Anthill Farms, 2015
Tuna Tartare
Arugula Salad
Brussels Sprouts
Potatoes Gratin
Short Rib
Lamb Leg
Chocolate Souffle w/tea and coffee service

I highly recommend Craft!

Returned after a long sojourn and it was excellent. Octopus and tuna tartare apps superb. Quail and braised short rib entrees also excellent accompanied by potatoes. Topped off with pana cotte that was perfect. Cocktails to start also very good. Service attentive within being obtrusive. Only beef would be the wine list which is good but hard to find anything decent under $100. All told I’d definitely go back.

As a Top Chef fan, dining at Craft has been on my do list for quite some time. Visiting NYC from out west and finally got the opportunity. We decided to do the tasting menu and wine pairing as a way to sample the cooking and food. We were not disappointed. Fantastic evening, great food, and the staff bent over backward to make it seem like we were the only clients. Well done Tom C!

The wine list was difficult as you either had to choose from an outrageous costing wine $800-$900 or an extremely average bottle. There wasn’t a lot in the middle. Food was decent, but costly for the portion size.
