Lovely dining experience - great food and very attentive service, beautifully designed space, and best of all, even when the place is full, you can have a normal conversation without raising your voice. In NYC, restaurants tend to be overwhelmingly loud - I have to yell throughout my dinner in order to have a conversation. Craft, however, has amazing acoustics - so I can hear my conversation and not everyone else’s in the restaurant. All in all, I love this restaurant.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City and visited it our yearly trip
Wonderful service and delicious thanksgiving dinner
It is hard to describe our wonderful experience at Craft. The genuine warmth shown when we were greeted and shown to our table started the experience. The entirety of the staff in anticipating all of our needs in considering the food and beverage selections and presentation was never ending. The knowledge of Mesrob, our waiter, as to the ingredients and manner of preparation of each of the offered selections was unique. In total, it was a great experience. We were allowed all of the time we chose to sip our wine, savor the bread offerings and select our meals - even though the restaurant was busy. Our favorites were the octopus appetizer (to be shared). The two large pieces were slowly cooked until tender and grilled to perfection (and served with a variety of peppers). We then shared the duck confit and the braised short ribs as main dishes. Each was cooked to our liking. We also shared a large portion of a variety of grilled and sauteed mushrooms (many varieties). Dessert was a shared home made small donuts with caramel and marshmallow sauces and ice cream. While not inexpensive, the a la carte menu is certainly reasonable. The wine list was varied and reasonably priced. In all, one of the best dining experiences in New York.
Service a bit slow initially then pushed to order food very quickly. Food was good but not great. Less of an “experience” than previous visits.
This was a special night out for my husband’s birthday. The meal was fantastic! Our waitress, I wish I knew her name, was so accommodating! We wanted to try several different plates, and she let us order half orders of several dishes so we could try a few more! The arugula salad was so light and flavorful! The beef spare rib was so tender that you didn’t even need a knife! Everything we ate was amazing, and the service was fantastic! Wish we lived closer so we could eat here often! They even printed “Happy Birthday, Pete!” on my husband’s menu. Such an incredible experience start to finish!
Had a wonderful meal at Craft for our first night on vacation in NYC. We started with a shared plate of the Butternut Squash Angolotti and the dishes from there excelled, as always when dining here. The noise level is about average; low enough to have a conversation but not be able to hear conversations at other tables. Kudos to our wonderful server Ed, thank you for making our dining experience that much better!
Good as always w a few stand out items but was very salty at times and the hamachi starter was somewhat bland.
We had an exceptional evening with incredible service from Caesar. Truly exceptional service and food. This place is special. Income from foodie SEATTLE where everyone preaches farm to table. Well, CRAFT invented that. The ambiance, service, food, wine list are all superior. Bravo.
Also very good and at times exceptional. This time not a “wow”
Amazing food and wine and service was excellent!
Not the first visit, certainly won’t be the last but fell a lil short compared to previous visits.
Honestly, it was over priced for what we got. I got scallops, which were good... but were they really worth $40? They didn't come with anything, had to order sides, which was really just potatos and brussel sprouts, but there was nothing special about them. Maybe I ordered the wrong sides? But should any sides really be Blah at a place like this? Probably not. That said, the staff was nice and the place was very cool. But yea way too much $$ for what I got.
It’s the little things. The food was amazing and little touches— friendliness, celebratory champagne, a personalized menu, and a warm fun vibe really made it special.
The food was great and the service very attentive and nice. The only negative point is that we were close to the door and I was cold.
Lack of coordination with wait staff, forgot beet salad , 25 minutes in between courses. Skipped course then brought out our entrees, so they had to take them back. After they skipped the salad course and re-brought out the entrees, I asked staff if they microwaved the lobster somewhat as a joke, he said “yes” three times!! Ultimately, we believed it was a language issue. Worst part is that the lobster was then cold and couldn’t tell if remade or re-fired or what?? and this was for our anniversary. I Didn’t send it back because we were starving and service had already been a nightmare. Tom C. would be ashamed of service this night. Won’t go back to craft. Worst thing is that no one seemed to give a crap. Sure they gave us some credit off the bill, but that’s not the point for a special occasion—So this was not a good experience had too many people coming to the table that lacked coordination and communication. Amuse Bouche and beet salad were good, not the rest.
My friends were thrilled with my choice for dinner at Craft. They loved the flavours in the assorted mushrooms, the aligot was superb and the braised rib magnificent. The sommelier was able to recommend a perfect wine (and on the lower end of price so thank you... the exchange rate on the dollar for Canadians is killer). It was a wonderful meal and my out of town guests were thrilled.
The food was tired and beyond overpriced. Mediocre at best. What was worse was the service. There were long swaths of time that we were left unattended and not in a good way. We told a waiter that we wanted another glass of the same wine and they took 20 minutes to even send someone over so we could repeat the request before finally getting a second glass. They also threw out all of our leftovers even though multiple people said we wanted them wrapped up.
Our new favorite restaurant in NYC! Every course was exquisite...artisanal bread with salted butter, arugula salad with a light lemon dressing, fork-tender short ribs, seared scallops, sautéed 5 mushroom medley, potatoes au gratin and finally the rich chocolate soufflé with pistachio ice cream. The service was truly world class...our table was serviced to by 7 attentive team members including GM Steven Bloom and servers Cesar and Sky. Outstanding memory!
A friend recommended Craft to us. We were a little nervous to bring our kids. The staff was wonderful, very welcoming, and more than accommodating. The food was delicious and we already want to go back!
Craft was everything I was hoping it would be, the Foie Gras was culinary perfection. There is no doubt we will be back on our next New York trip.
Nice restaurant, a little expensive, especially wines only available by the glass, excellent food and very good service apart for a little bit of recurrent waiting for bread.
The food was fine. Expected more. Service was fabulous. Great place for a business meal as the sound level is perfect.
Excellent dinner, though not cheep. Service, ambiance, food was excellent.
It’s pricey but worth it - very good!
Great food - would definitely go back. Great services.
Not coming back, mediocre at best
We went on vacation to NYC and we had a pleasant time at Craft
Terrific food and service. Warm and welcoming atmosphere
Celebrated our 28h anniversary. Great food, service, and wine. Definitely would go back.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance. Would go back again despite all of the other places still to try in NYC because it was just outstanding from start to finish!
Such a great dinner experience. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Highly recommend
Main courses, bit basic and nothing special
the steak was not a good piece of meat, the beef cheeks and the sauce that came with it were fine
Craft went out of their way to make this the most special birthday experience. Will definitely return for another special occasion!
Thank you to the whole staff!
Enjoyable meal, Faith and the rest of the servers high top rate.
We booked a table for our anniversary. We felt totally spoiled by the service we received. A very memorable evening!
Craft food and service never disappoints. Everything from the pasta courses to dessert is enjoyable. Always a go to favorite when in NYC.
Went on our Anniversary - Craft went all out to make our night special. Service was top notch, welcoming, nice, helpful. Relaxed, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere. Food was beyond exceptional - esp the Heirloom Tomato and Basil salad. The Braised Beef Short Ribs were melt in your mouth tender. Highly recommend the Bee Sting for a cocktail before the wine. Save room for the Chocolate Souffle and the Doughnuts - you'll be happy you did. Will be back again in the future for certain, one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.
