Simply-prepared American fare showcasing pristine seasonal ingredients sourced from family farms, day boat fishermen & specialized ranchers enjoyed in an elegantly understated space. Awarded three stars by the New York Times, Craft received the prestigious James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in 2002 and Tom Colicchio received the James Beard Award for Best Chef in 2010.

Craft now offers a 6-course tasting menu for $120/each guest. Paired wines can be enjoyed for an additional $65/each guest. All guests at the table are asked to participate to enjoy this menu; wine pairings are optional per guest.

I was hoping the recent reviews I’ve read for Craft wouldn’t “apply” to my experience, but unfortunately they were right. I have always liked Tom Colicchio and was excited to give Craft a try when visiting NY. While the service was excellent (albeit slightly confusing as we seemed to have 2 waitresses), dinner itself was simply “fine” - not fine dining. My angolotti was undercooked and sides were fairly standard (my husband did like is halibut however). We tried two desserts - one far better than the other. Overall, it was a disappointment...especially based on cost and knowing the restaurant’s (past) fanfare. I was definitely hoping for more.

Absolutely memorable! It was a friend’s birthday and she totally had a lovely time. The food was amazing! Just about every dish was excellent.

You are treated like royalty from the second you walk in. Every dish is perfectly cooked and there are many options you wouldn’t find in an everyday restaurant. Same goes for the drinks. Obviously you should have high expectations from Tom Colicchio and they will be met.

Craft says it’s simple but the price is not so simple for valentine dinner it was $500 only two drinks extra from the menu .. we waited to go to craft since long.After our dinner I was so disappointed at the food ... salad was so rancid ... steak !!! Over priced steak was over done sadly ... mushrooms and the bread probably was the only thing that had flavor ... no serving spoons are given out .. so you have to try to scoop it all out with fork and knife ... dessert was ok ... just can’t believe for the price the taste and work of craft was not worth it sadly...

I can't speak to their a la carte, but the valentines day pre-fixe was very average for the price. Our final bill was close to $450 with drinks for two of us, and we were left unimpressed with the food portions and quality. Service was excellent, people were very accommodating and helpful. Ambiance was great. We may come back to try the a la carte menu.

this place was terrible, food came very late and COLD, cold steak and cold duck, never had that in a top rated restaurant before, the top chef would have been very angry; at first we were seated next to window and it was FREEZING, very uncomfortable so we had to ask to be moved or we were afraid we'd get sick; there was no bread so we asked because the wait was so long for the appetizers and the bread was terrible, hard as a rock and no taste. the appetizers (crab) and gnocchi were TINY, i have never seen such small portions, i could barely taste them because there was so little; then the entree which took forever to come out came out COLD, both the steak and the duck. terrible experience, will never go back and will tell everyone i know what this top chef restaurant is like.

We were very excited to try Craft by TC.
Food was amazing.
We were a on a special date.
Host staff was great and friendly.
Server did well at first, but by the end we did not feel welcome.
Kind of blew us off and left us feeling like we did something wrong.
Especially at the end of the meal when he brought the check.

Bad service - waiter paid little attention at all - steak was raw couldn’t cut thru it - no offer of replacement - eventually credit for the steak was given - upon arrival for 730 res we waited 15 min extra but others were seated in a timely fashion - I won’t return - way overpriced even for nyc

We were generally disappointed with the experience. For the price the food wasn’t as ‘wow’ as it should be given the competition at that price point in NYC. The best thing about the restaurant was the decor which was sadly let down by the music choice which didn’t lend itself to what should have been an atmospheric experience but we were regaled with a rocky and occasionally soul music filled playlist which lacked coherence. It just felt like it diminished the overall feel of the decor and experience. My daughter ordered the truffle pasta and she couldn’t taste the truffle. We weren’t blown away by the octopus. It didn’t taste as crisp on the outside and less firm on the inside than it should have been. The potato gratin was a touch over salted and too creamy for such a classic French dish. The scallops were lovely as was the creamed spinach and the bread. The Nicholas Cabernet Sauvignon was divine and the staff were lovely. But given the choice we have in NYC, would we come back? Probably not.

I have wanted to eat at this restaurant for a long time and finally had the opportunity to do so. I was very disappointed. While the food was ok, the pasta portions - especially the squash pasta dish- were extremely small and the lacked any real innovation. Service was marginal. It is not worth the cost to dine here - I would not go back.

As always, our meal was expertly prepared using fresh ingredients. We both had fish dishes and I had a fantastic grilled squid. The wine selections are always well chosen and priced. We had a fantastic Evening Land chardonnay that was a perfect complement to our meal...Bravo

Carefully prepared and delicious food - the chicken was a particular standout for its, as was the side of hen of the woods mushrooms, which were perfectly roasted, and especially the dessert special, which was an inventive creme fraiche-based pannacotta with citrus, including meringue made from Buddha's Hand fruit. The non-alcoholic "cocktails" were so outstanding that my daughter and I each had two! Service was attentive without being overbearing. My only mild criticism is that the music was rather loud when we first arrived, and didn't seem to have a particular theme - almost like a random Spotify playlist. However, we were also there early, and I noticed the music less as the restaurant filled up (and as I drank more of an excellent Rioja Gran Reserva). Highly recommended.

One of the best restaurant experiences ever! From the time we entered until we left, top. Orch all the way! Mezz is a fantastic waiter - knows everything about the menu, was very personable, recommended an excellent Pinot noir based on what we were ordering. One person had a dairy allergy - he knew what were the best choices given the dietary restriction. Food was expertly prepared! We will definitely go back!

I came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Servers were so nice and polite to customers. High level of service, good food, and dessert was good too. (Chocolate cake was warm and high quality more than other bakery shops) and atmosphere was phenomenal. I felt little bit cold because our table was near by the entrance but everything else was perfect.

Having been to Craft before I was very disappointed with our most recent experience. At best I can say the food was mediocre. I ordered the halibut which was tasteless, lacking any seasoning. We also ordered the scallops and braised short ribs which were also underwhelming. Given this is a Tom Colicchio restaurant, and the prices, we expect excellent food all the time, which it wasn’t. My wife and I agreed we will not be rushing back, if returning at all.

Everything from start to finish was terrific. The only thing I didn’t love was the Halibut...that’s probably more about me than the prep though. The foie gras, White truffle gnocchi, spare ribs, ice cream were all terrific. My favorite was the maple pear old fashioned—loved it!!
