An A-plus experience at Craft! The service was notably lovely in all ways and the food was excellent.
Food was amazing, staff was knowledgeable and the attention to detail for our special occasion made our night. From the temperature in the room, the food and the seating it was just perfect.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Craft. The food was outstanding and the service was very good.
Excellent overall - always enjoy my experience at Craft.
Fabulous food and impeccable, friendly service! I can’t think of any way to improve things.
I always recommend Craft to my friends. It's a perfect combination of great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. And it's not pretentious. If it were, all the food and service would mean nothing.
It's a down to earth place and Tom Collichio's heart is in the right place.
Three friends decided to have a President's Day lunch, and we weren't disappointed. We share two appetizers and two desserts, which gave us a lovely variety. Grilled octopus was terrific, as was the brussel sprouts salad. Mere than enough for 3. The monk fish over cauliflower was a good main course, but a smaller portions, especially against the hamburger and fries ordered by another. The staff ead lovely and we had a leisurely dinig experience.
The service was outstanding, very personalized and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!
Food was great, waiter was very knowledgeable about all the selections offered by the restaurant.
My wife and I had a reservation to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We had our wedding reception in Craft's private room, and so the restaurant holds a special nostalgia for us. This was our third time dining at Craft over the years, and the experience was sublime as usual. The food was fantastic, the service is efficient and graceful, and the noise level is just right.
There was one mishap with this evening, though. Our reservation was at 6p, but due to circumstances outside our control we realized we would not be able to make it in time. I called Craft to alert them at 5p, as I realize broken reservations can really muck up a Sat night for them. I said we would be late and deferred to their judgment as to what we should do. I suggested we either move the reservation later in the night, reschedule for another day, or simply arrive late. They said it would be no problem, that we should just arrive late, and that they'd make a note on our reservation. Before I could even say, "Are you sure?" they rushed me off the phone and said don't worry about a thing.
I was a surprised then when we finally arrived at 6:35pm that the hostess took a certain tone with us when she pointed out our reservation was for 6pm, that they usually only hold tabled for 15 minutes, but that we could still have ours as long as we'd be gone by 8p. I tried to point out that this is exactly why I called ahead, and why I offered to reschedule the reservation, and why I was skeptical when they breezily told me on the phone not to worry about it at all. But I didn't press too hard, and we just took our table and enjoyed our dinner albeit feeling a little rushed.
I can understand this mix up at a lower-tier restaurant, but this is Craft, one of the few spots where I can honestly say it's worth every penny of the $100+ per person price range. For a place of this calibre though, this should've been handled better and we shouldn't have had to feel rushed during our special 5-year anniversary dinner.
Craft is always special. Food is excellent. Hospitality and service cannot be surpassed.
The service was very slow and we had to flag down our waiter to order and then it took over a half hour to get our entrees. The restaurant wasn’t busy; we went at 5:30pm
Made the birthday celebration a memorable one. Thank you!
It was truly a pleasure. The food was great and the service was impeccable. My waitress even remembered my allergies from my previous visit. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement.
What a treat. Food and service were excellent one again. One of the best restaurants in the city but isn’t pretentious like some others. Highly recommend the octopus as a first course. The quail and pork belly were both excellent and do not skip the chocolate soufflé. My husband doesn’t usually like dessert but even he raved about it. An amazing meal from start to finish.
It was really beautiful, service was amazing food was great! Will be going back for sure!
Excellent valentine menu
Absolutely amazing experience. Mez was our server and was very attentive and offered great suggestions on both food and beverage choices! Food was perfectly cooked, and flavors were fantastic!
The food is reliably fresh, delicious and always beautifully presented. Maybe I was there on an off night but aside from the sommelier, who truly seemed to be welcoming us into her home, the wait staff was.... perfunctory I guess is the best word. He just didn't seem to care that we were there, and when he advised us that our food would take half an hour to prepare he spun that into a discussion about appetizers we didn't want. But aside from that, it's always a great experience, and shouldn't be missed.
Amazing, must get all the sides, especially the assorted mushrooms and the short rib. Don’t forget the donuts at the end. Black widow is the great drink
Our table was ready 25 minutes after the scheduled time. The waiter forgot to tell us two of the five items on the tasting menu were out until we ordered it. They opted to replace a lobster ravioli with a chestnut agnolotti with no change in price. The service was generally poor and the wine pairing featured cider. The sommelier was the bright spot and happily swapped the cider for a Chenin Blanc. Overall, disappointing.
Mostly just loved the whole evening. One “complaint” I was hosting and had to ask our waiter to
Refill wine glasses and tell him we wanted a second bottle of wine.
Otherwise food was wonderful as was our evening
Food was not good at all
One of the best burgers in Manhattan. Fantastic burger
Went to Craft for lunch during Restaurant Week. It was very busy and we waited about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. The menu was varied and the food quite good. Three of us ordered the brussels sprout salad with bagna cauda. There was very little dressing on the salad and our request for more dressing was honored without fuss. The short rib ragout was very tasty and the steak, a $5 extra charge, was also very good. The ambience was modern and a bit bright where we were seated, although there were tables elsewhere that seemed dimmer. Overall a good experience with attentive waitstaff.
Food not exceptional. They forgot an important part of our meal and didn’t provide it quickly enough. Will not go back.
I recommend CRAFT with some hesitation. They are overly impressed with themselves and I think significantly overpriced. The tables seem to be getting closer together and, for $125/head, I am not too enthused about being apart of anyone else's conversation
Went for our anniversary terrific meal wonderful service . The octopus was the best
I've been to Craft at least a dozen times over the years. We were seated at the front of the restaurant, which I had never been before. It was a bit cold by the windows. And although it was just the two of us, we were seated next to two larger groups of 5 people at each table which was a little noisy. The food was excellent, as always, but I would recommend putting similarly sized groups together in the front. it does not have the same ambience for a romantic dinner as the main dining room.
The tables at the front are very close and we sat next to an obnoxious Brit, who was not only loud, but rude to the wait staff. He was holding court and having a mostly liquid lunch. After his guest left, he proceeded to make several phone calls on his cell. I wish management had removed him, so that those of us around him could have enjoyed the meal.
Went for lunch during Restaurant Week Winter 2019. This is why I rated the value as high as I did. Would knock of 1 star if we had to pay regular prices. Service is very professional on all counts. Was not happy with the squid appetizer - too little squid, too much oil, and too many beans. Also was not wowed by the TC burger but mostly because the bun is too big and mine was on the grill too long. I will give Tom another chance because I am a big fan but this visit was underwhelming. Very much favor Temple Court over Craft (admittedly two different target demographics).
Food was Poor. Soup taste like water. Dessert was okay.
Restaurant Week lunch was excellent choice. Everything we ate was delicious and beautifully plated. We even splurged on dessert calories and definitely were not sorry.
Great food and lots of choices. Very worthwhile restaurant
Service was absolute tops; the best I've experienced in NYC. The food was entirely forgettable. Nothing wrong particularly, but nothing special at all. Perhaps too many entrees offered for Restaurant Week and nothing really special. Sorry to say this; I'm not a harsh critic about food, but was expecting something more. Definitely not worth the cost and we were paying only for Restaurant Week lunch.
The restaurant is very pretty & service was great but food was tasteless & overpriced !
Took out of town colleagues here. Waiter spilled the pitcher of water down my colleagues shoulder and arm while rushing by. Knocked a glass over at our table of another colleague. My colleague had to send her drink back to her other ingredients because it was mixed so poorly. And it was a basic drink. Took 1 hour and 10 mins to get our food. It arrived like it has been sitting out for awhile. Metal pans and food were ice cold. My colleague couldn’t even eat hers it was so cold and chewy. Manager only comped one round of drink. Everyone agreed they should have comped the meal since we were so dissatisfied and it was an off night for the staff & kitchen.
The service and food was outstanding . We celebrated my friends birthday and she was thrilled with the personal touches.
My birthday lunch was a complete disaster. I ordered the pork belly and my husband the burger. When my meal came it was just a slab of fat with no meat! I sent it back and opted for the skate. After 25 mins wait I asked what was happening and eventually it arrived - the salsa underneath was lukewarm and the fish was scorching hot, totally overcooked and inedible. My husband had requested his burger medium, by then he discovered his burger was beyond well done and the bun burnt. I can’t believe that this meals were leaving the kitchen without being checked. We said we were going to leave and the waiter told us that to compensate he wouldn’t charge us, we had to point out that we hadn’t eaten anything as we had been given three inedible meals. In addition the a/c was blasting out cold above me, when I asked if it could be turned down the waiter said it was the draft from the street! We were really disappointed that Craft has deteriorated to such an extent and would send out three appalling dishes in a row
