About Craft Los Angeles
Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002 & five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. His new American dishes marry the finest ingredients, haute cuisine and family-style service. Under the execution of Chef de Cuisine Andrew Gavalla, Craft features produce from local organic farms, all-natural meats & day-boat seafood. With the award-winning architectural design of Bentel and Bentel & under the glow of filament bulbs, diners share dishes that celebrate 'single' ingredients, expertly & simply prepared.
Awarded Three and a Half Stars by S. Irene Virbila of the Los Angeles Times, she states:
“The menu offers a master class in contemporary American cuisine. You won’t find recipes with 17 ingredients or unnecessary frills. Each dish relies on simplicity & elegance, superb ingredients & expert execution to make its point."

Craft Los Angeles Ratings and Reviews
Another great experience here at Craft LA. Went one other time with friends during DineLA a few years ago and loved it. Thought we'd revisit it again for another foodie, special hang out and had another wonderful time. The service was fantastic from the moment we checked in at the hostess desk, and the ambiance was great. The food was AMAZING and Craft LA actually allows diners to order from the DineLA menu OR the regular menu. Many restaurants don't allow this, but it was great for us because some did and some ordered from the menu, so we all got to share in the tasty delights. We brought our own bottles of wine and they decanted the red for us, which was great. This is worth every $ especially during DineLA.
We had a delicious New Year’s Eve dinner at Craft. I’ve been going to this restaurant for several years and it seems to have improved with age. The food was well-prepared and tasty, and the service was impeccable, as usual. Even though NYE was a busy night for the restaurant, the meal was prepared as well as on a regular night, and the service was as careful and attentive as I’ve come to expect from Craft. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and a great way to ring in the New Year!
We arrived about 15 minutes early and we were welcomed at the door and and taken immediately to our table. The service was attentive without being invasive or annoying. The sommelier spotted me holding the wine list and appeared at once. She made a recommendation of a wine based on our desires and it was excellent. Portions were generous without being overwhelming and items for sharing were appropriate sized and plated for easy sharing. My Halibut main dish was perfectly prepared and and the Salmon was also excellent. The ladies shared a couple of 'salad' items and were very happy. This is not a place for someone counting their pennies or even their dollars :)
We visit my grandmother here in LA every other year or so and this is the second time we have been to Craft during our trips. Yet again, the experience was awesome! Staff are all super pleasant and easy to get along with, the food is stellar, and we had two 11 year girls and a 6 year old boy to feed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return again for sure. Thanks!
Christmas Eve dinner with a prix fixe menu was underwhelming to say the least.
Other than entrées, menu options were quite limited and seemed to me rather odd.
I guess I was hoping for at least a couple more traditional holiday dishes, alas, it was diver scallops, salmon and beef tartare.
I’ll need to come back for a regular lunch or dinner to make a true, fair judgment.
The Craft staff is amazing, the food is amazing and they really helped me celebration my committment to USC with special surprises that were wonderful. It’s a quiet restaurant, great for having a conversation and enjoying time with family. The menu is fabulous, I highly recommend that you follow the staffs “instructions” when it comes to the menu. This is a sharing restaurant and it makes it very unique. Overall, this is the place you want to really try.
Another enjoyable Craft meal. The fixed price is a wonderful way to go. The service, as always, straight forward and professional, with a smile, and the light streaming through the windows makes the ambience cheerful and rejuvinating. Go and have fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
We had an amazing experience from beginning to end. My wife and I were there celebrating our anniversary, and we felt quite welcomed by the whole team. Food was amazing, and the special attention to details - from palate cleansers to the extra goodie bag in the end - makes dining at Craft always a very special experience!
Back at CRAFT for a birthday and get together. Wonderful lunch. Light streaming in through the windows, attentive waitstaff and delicious food. Highly suggest the fixed price lunch and leave room for dessert. But note; they charge for refills on the lemonade but not the iced tea.
The group had hanger steak, halibut, ahi, and pasta - enjoyed by all and delighted with the endive salad. Oh yeah, save room for the desserts!
We went for my birthday. It was such a wonderful night. The service was excellent on all counts. The food was mostly really really good. The scallops were excellent the hen of the woods mushrooms superb. The pork belly was dry and I actually thought that my first attempt at braised short ribs turned out much more flavorful then there's. The desserts were average the risotto was boring but I think risotto is boring anywhere. And a couple of dishes were just blah. The bread is to die for the ambience was my favorite. I would go once a year but that's just because I'm not used to dropping that kind of cake on dinner. We spent over $200 but we completely over ordered just for fun.
We were four for dinner on a weeknight and had a good experience. The service is friendly and reasonably prompt, the food imaginative and good, the venue very pretty with all the twinkling outdoor lights. The noise level was OK; we had no problem holding a conversation. The restaurant is quite pricey; well over $200/couple, with $30 corkage fee for wine. Finally, I do not like the "shared-plates-everything extra" format, which is why the bill gets as high as it does; I feel that I am eating at a very expensive buffet, rather than fine dining.
The service was so above and beyond fantastic I can’t say enough positive remarks. And the ambiance was great to make a birthday feel special, but still maintain conversation without shouting. Goes without saying the food was exquisite. One of the best (if not most) memorable, top-notch dining experiences in LA.
