Crab Hut was founded in 2007 by a family that loves food and beer, with one purpose to bring San Diego some good ole' Southern sass and flavor. Our goal is to redefine the eating out experience and engaging the guest with hands on food, while keeping it fresh with products grown and rise locally here in San Diego.

With such a crazy concept, there must be crazy people behind it and yes we are. We're as crazy about our food as we are about the brews that we serve. Keeping it local and sustainable is our main goal and we do it when we can. This ensures our customers with the freshest quality available. Our taps and bottles also feature some of the best microbrews San Diego has to offer. We carry products from Karl Strauss, Stone, Lightning, Green Flash, Ale Smith, Coronado, Mission Brew, Ballast Point and many more. So bring your family, friends, neighbor, co-worker, friend’s friend’s friend and join our food and beer loving family for some good ole’ dirty fun.

Parking is free for 3 hours at Horton Plaza with a ticket validation in the front of information center in the mall. (WE DO NOT VALIDATE YOUR TICKET). On Sunday and after 6pm Mon-Sat, green line, yellow line and meter are free to park.

Fun place. All food eaten with hands so it can get messy. We learned too late that you can ask for plastic gloves. Portions were ample and you cannot beat $4 happy hour beers. Service was excellent.

Food is always great,service always terrible! This time we went for our grandsons 18th birthday and the server was informed and was still inattentive, lax and had to be asked for every little thing! They did sing happy birthday to my grandson, but our sever was not in atendence. Very poor service on an important night.

We are from the Bay Area so it was great to find something in San Diego that reminds us of Boiling Crab. I really like what they had to offer and the tastes were uniquely there's. The sauce was a little sweet but had lots of garlic which I liked. There was meaty crab in the snow legs and sausages were not too spicy. Good flavor and they have different tvs that were playing the different basketball games happening that night. Good find in Downtown and left us feeling good.

Really good boil, but wish the crawfish were bigger. These bugs were really small and the meat wouldn't pull off the tail easily. I prefer the Cajun boil over the Full House. Shrimp were large and fantastic!

Although disappointed with the size of crawfish, I'd definitely eat there again. Great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Our server was great. Very attentive but not intrusive. Food was decent. We ordered the Sampler Boat which is a LARGE basket of fried shrimp, fish, calamari, fries and okra. All the seafood was seriously overcooked. Also order the Spicy Jambalaya. It is spicy and the shrimp was done just right. But the rice was overcooked and mushy.
