Great food. Great environment. Always a good choice for dining.
Great place to eat
Food, service, and atmosphere always great!! Wish they still had fresh bread, balsamic/oil, and crushed pistachios...... perks that brought us back all these years...(17 +)
Really enjoyed our meals. Fish tacos.. requested grilled instead of breaded. Lots of fillings.. fresh, very nice presentation. Then, Mediterranean salmon... really delicious and unique. Lots of fresh veggies in broth. Also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine reasonably priced. Our server was efficient and attentive. Modern and comfortable atmosphere since they remodeled a year ago. Overall a very pleasant evening... highly recommend!!
The food was very good. I had the Prime Rib French Dip with Fries it was so tasty the Fries were also very good, my daughter had the Eggs Benedict and my husband had the Chicken Pizza. The Eggs Benedict were very good the hollandaise was a little to lemony, the pizza was okay the chicken was way to dry. The service was a little sketchy Ciera was really overwhelmed she was the only one on duty. I have had really good experiences in the past. I will be going back probably not on a weekend though.
The menu is so good. I ordered the Oriental Salad it was delicious, also ordered a Cosmo not to sweet. The Cosmo was good I did have to request more limes then it was good. As it was noonish so very busy. I still could read my book while I ate the super good salad.
Christmas Eve dinner for two
Great food excellent service nice menu new to the area will definitely go back
Great food. Had the cajun pasta and the special which was chicken marsala over pasta. Great selection of craft beer. Only strange thing was the waitress came and boxed up my wife’s dinner without asking if she wanted a box or even if she was done eating. It worked because she was pretty much done, but strange.
C.R. Gibbs has one of the more varied menus in Redding, with nice execution and attention to details. We've dined there twice -- on two consecutive visits to town -- and have enjoyed our dinners both times. Seafood, beef, pork and chicken all have hit high notes. The small plate of brussel sprouts with peanut sauce was an excellent vegetarian entry. Our servers have been on the ball both times. The hostess could be more engaging and friendly, though she was not unfriendly. We are recommending C.R. Gibbs and will be back.
Always a pleasure to meet friends for dinner and drinks at CR Gibbs! We always enjoy the fish tacos, fish and chips and variety of luscious dinner salads. Our server Meg, was a delight.
First of all our server was amazing! Very helpful and sweet and accommodating of my food allergies! Food was excellent and timely! Probably my ever so small complaint was it was a bit noisy for my senior Father who couldn't hear too well. But it was a lovely meal!
Food was good and the service was great. Love the decor
Great restaurant. Fish and chips were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.
Food was good and something for everyone. Clean and pretty place. Air conditioner was very nice.
Waitress was way above, just terrific.
The CRGibbs remodel has truly amped up the atmosphere and ambiance- a truly open, airy, comfortable and more up to date experience. Service was attentive, friendly and accommodating. My Seafood Risotto did have a good quantity of scallops, shrimp and fish, while the amount of actual risotto could have been less abundant - and the sauce while creamy and not without flavor - could use a “kick” or a bit more seasoning, the dish was good overall. My guest had the ribs and enjoyed them. Dessert of Hazelnut Flan was a fabulous flan - super creamy and flavorful -Best ever!
We had lunch at 1:45 so it was quiet and not busy. The fish and chips as well as the Cobb salad were excellent.
The food was great, decor was nice, staff was friendly. The service was good, but the thing I noticed was after I was served my food no one ever came back and checked if things were well or if I wanted or needed anything else which is always standard in a restaurant.
Every year we go we never get disappointed! Great food and service! The best street tacos
We have been to CR Gibbs several times and most of the dinners are very good. Last Sunday, the 4th, my Son,Husband and I went for dinner. Their pizzas were good but I had the chicken dinner. The chicken was very dry, even the dark meat. I was really disappointed but said nothing. Our waiter, Kobe was excellent and took excellent care of us. I will never order that entree again.
The fairly recent remodeled dining room has a bright and airy ambiance, feels spacious and comfortable. Well done! The Chinese Chicken Salad and Turkey Club wrap (minus bacon for me) were fresh tasting, and very flavorful- abundance of veggies and greens and greens and avocado in the wrap as well provided a crispness and well rounded flavor profile to enhance the chicken and turkey. Good homemade dressing and the best Hazelnut Flan for dessert! A truly enjoyable lunch all around.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and our server Kobe was the BEST. So pleased!
We waited 45 min for food and they got it wrong then complained when we asked for the manager
My spouse and I shared the fried chicken with mac n cheese and had the Snickers Brownie sundae for dessert. Overall great service although the staffing seemed short. Will be back again when in the area. :)
We travel from the Bay Area to meet with friends who come down to Redding from Oregon. A must do item is dinner at CR Gibbs. Great menu, two dining options (bar loud fun, or dining room, quite and calmer). We love the fresh made chips, and always love the menu options.
Two of us had short ribs which were very good. The other guest ordered fish tacos which were not so good. Very little fish but mountains of cabbage and cheese. She said it was like eating a cabbage and cheese taco.
My husband and I took our out of town friends to lunch and loved everything about it except the large table next to us who were very loud and made it very difficult to have a nice conversation. We mentioned it to our server but it didn't go anywhere.
Actually we think it’s too noisy in there but your survey didn’t ask it in that way. Still a good place for dinner
Mother's day brunch, food was very good but as would be expected fir this holiday the place was packed. I had gotten a reservation for my family the week before and the restaurant was already running out of available slots. Food was good, and a huge variety with a carving station, omlet bar, dessert table, and seafood table, besides the more normal breakfast and lunch items. Brunch was $44 per person, drinks (not alcoholic) were included.
It seems that CR Gibbs is becoming too expensive for the Motif. The food is good but not as good as it used to be. The service was excellent where the servers attended us frequently. Respective to the expensive dinner our salad sides were craftily constructed so it looked quite large using Kale like lettuce with a verity of other salad greens with only a wisp of salad dressing! A bowl of New England clam chowder was only luke warm. We happened to dine during their, "Nutzy" time. The price for their beverages was quite acceptable.
Great fish and chips. Great service and fun. We were able to park the 1956 Chevy.
We LOVE C.R. Gibbs, especially out on the Patio!!! Inside is a bit too loud for me & my husband, but we absolutely LOVE the outdoor seating!
Food is incredible! We just LOVE it!!! Very consistent!! The fried green beans are beyond GOOD! So delicious!
WE just LOVE C.R. Gibbs!
Great food, but the noise level following the recent remodel is far from ideal
Menu options weren't inspired....nothing special, service was adequate (e.g. had to ask for refill on water). The fried chicken - was 4 pieces (basically 1/2 a chicken) 2 pieces were dry, the other 2 were good.
Wouldn't recommend as it wasn't outstanding food or service....basically met expectations.
We went to dinner here the other night as we hadn't been there for some time, but knew we could count on a good meal. We started by sharing a Wedge Salad but opted out of the beets and garbanzo beans it normally includes. The dressing and generous blue cheese crumbles made it a hit in my book. We both decided to order their BRAISED SHORT RIBS which comes with a red wine tomato demi, whipped potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. It was so tasty my mouth is watering now as I write this. The portion was large so we only ate half and took the rest home. We heated it in the microwave last night and was still excellent. We also enjoyed a bottle of The Federalist Lodi Zinfandel, which was outstanding, to say the least. We probably should have stopped at this point, but their Snickers Ice Cream Pie was just too tantalizing. Yes, it was a wonderful treat and ending to our great meal.
Six of us for lunch and we all had a great meal- everything was great! We could see the food going to the other tables and it looked great, too!
Server was friendly and attentive. This is not our first visit and we will be back again.
Our company always uses CR Gibbs for our interview lunches. It is a classy & delicious venue, especially after the new remodel!
The only suggestion I have is perhaps getting some acoustic wall panels for the noise level.
Fun vibrant atmosphere with great service by Melissa and I really enjoyed my Seafoid Risotto dish, my guest had an Asian Chicken Salad, also flavorful and fresh tasting. The Hazelnut Flan for dessert was truly amazing!
This is not the place I remembered from 30 years ago. I sat down then and had a BIG bowl of shrimp set in front of me. Was told by the waiterest that I could NOT order the BIG prime rib. I would not be able to eat it all. That was 30 years ago.
This time, I had to ask for water, bread, shrimp bowl was $12.00, main course was short ribs (3). Place was noisy, but, tolerable. I was looking forward to this place after 30 years. Sorry to say I will not likely go back. Seems like a popular night spot.
Eggs Benedict way overcooked; replacement undercooked. Noise reverberates. Eager, helpful server.
