One of the best resturants on the Island. Great old building, service was on target and the food outstanding. Must do if you are visiting. We live here and its one of our favorites
We typically love CQs and make an effort on each trip to fit in at least one visit. We had reservations and were seated promptly, but at a table literally in the dark. No light for reading the menu. We used our cell phone flash lights. We even requested more lighting and a small wall light was turned on, but it was not sufficient. Difficult atmosphere.
Super slow service, 43 minutes from the time we were seated to bread service. Not sure what was going on with the service, it’s never been so slow or cranky. The restaurant wasn’t near capacity, many empty tables. The bread was served hastily as if she didn’t want to be there, not her usual attitude.
I think we were forgotten because we were sitting in the dark where we couldn’t see and no one could see our table. It was really a terrible experience as far as atmosphere. Super slow, waters ran empty, turtle pace service tonight.
The food was good as usual, but the super slow service and lack of even adequate lighting was horrid.
Our meal lasted more than 2 hours most of which was spent waiting for order to be taken or food service.
Excellent food & service. Always a favorite
Debbie is a great waitress!
Waitress was very good . Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Disappointed that it was supposed to be BOGO, and when we got there, it was not. Was told on the phone by the reservation taker that it was BOGO for that evening.
Great Valentine's dinner. Good variety menu. All my favorites. Friendly attentive service. Emplyees knowledgeable and offered good suggestions.
Mediocre service and food. We normally really like this place but salmon was really fishy and snapper was bland and almost raw . Butternut bisque was outstanding. Waitress tried to guess what she thought you should say rather than asking how you liked the food or allowing you t say anything. If this was our only experience we would never go back.
It was a wonderful evening ~ good food & great service!! Even got a long stemmed red rose for Valentine’s Day.
Food very good. Service good and server friendly. Bit expensive.
Superb service and excellent food. Love the ambiance
Diverse menu. Great wait staff. Very good cocktails. Worth a repeat visit.
Service was excellent, our meal was very good. Casual atmosphere, very relaxing. Good wine list
Food was okay but the service was very poor, bordering on inattentive. An entree that was served was wrong and in order not to have to wait longer and have one of our party eat alone , we traded and as a result neither of us ate what we wanted. We had BOGO coupons so they automatically added a full gratuity. When I mentioned that I didn’t think it was right to do that, the waitress (who didn’t seem too concerned about her mistake) did change the bill. In the end we left a smaller gratuity. There are far better dining experiences on Hilton Head—neither our friends or us will be returning.
CQ's has been around for decades and has remained consistently good. The current management is doing a great job, and the food and service are excellent. Because CQ's has been around so long, I feel it somehow flies under the radar because of the myriad of the newer fine-dining places, BUT it shouldn't. It's still one of the favorites of local discriminating patrons, and of frequent Hilton Head visitors like us, who always enjoy returning. We particularly like the multiple fish options, and the steaks and chops are always great too. Not to mention the personal favorite dessert Key Lime Pie. It's one of the few cozy, romantic spots whose food rates up there with the wonderful ambience ----- white tablecloths, low light, candles on the table, and a great bottle of wine.....perfect! We were there last month, we were there two nights ago, and we will return with another couple this upcoming weekend....can't wait.
