CQ's Ratings and Reviews
This one of the few restaurants in Hilton Head that are really worth going to. CQ's is a wonderful restaurant with very good, local seafood. They source local seafood whenever possible and are one of the only places on the island that do this. For an upscale restaurant they were also very kid friendly. We have had a great experience every time when have been there and the food and service have always been top notch. Best dining on the island and always a pleasure to eat there.
The salmon/cucumber mousse was just a hint of things to come! Food was even more amazing. We hadn't been to HHI in several years and had actually forgotten about this gem in Sea Pines. After playing golf, we took a ride and on our way back by the golf course remembered. So glad we did! From the appetizers to dessert all four of us were so impressed. Service was great and such an interesting building.
CQ's is a neat restaurant, casual atmosphere and great food. We have been twice recently, both times services was excellent and the food was very good. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially if you are staying in Sea Pines, the best restaurant in that area.
The service was terrible. Very slow. The waiter brought the wrong wine ( not the one we ordered), which we sent back, the salad course was not served as requested and served to the wrong people at the table, the rolls were forgotten, and when we requested them as our entrees were served, we were asked" for everyone?" They came out too hot to touch ( microwaved) and when they cooled, were as hard as a rock. Three of the entries were OK, but not very warm. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked earlier, then microwaved. It was lukewarm. The vegetables served with it were mush. The server apologized for every mistake, but he never checked on us, and avoided eye contact. Extremely long wait between arrival, drinks and ordering.
We have stayed in Sea Pines a number of times but never dined at CQs. We were seated promptly upon arrival. We split the daily special shrimp appetizer; it was remarkable!. I wish I could go back for that alone. My husband and I also split a wedge salad that had a nice twist. Our entrees were very good as well.
Service was good and attentive. I couldn't have been more impressed. it was our best dining experience of the week.
Even though we've stayed in Sea Pines many, many times over many, many years, this was our first trip to CQ's. Loved the ambience of the old home, and the attentive service. Great menu selections, and even though it isn't particularly kid/family focused, they were able to accomodate our younger children as well as our teenagers. The food was excellent, rave reviews for the steaks and duck, and we will definitely return.
We had a reservation and the hostess was going to sit us at a table.
We asked for a booth and she kindly accommodated. The downturn was our server. She
was loud and made us feel rushed. It seemed like every time I put my fork down, she was
there asking if I was done. Not the nice relaxing dinner we were hoping for.
We have not stayed in the Sea Pines resort area before so I was looking for a nice place for Valentines Day dinner. I read a few reviews about CQ's and made reservation. The restaurant is only a short distance from the Harbour Town lighthouse. All of the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. I had a boneless 10 oz pork chop and my wife had salmon. Both dishes were very good and our waitress kept the evening at a leisurely pace which we enjoyed. We both thought the restarant had character.
An older restaurant situated in the oaks in Harbour Town in Sea Pines proved to be well worth the trip. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The server didn't arrive quite as quickly but was pleasant and attentive when not taking care of a group at the next table. The food and drinks arrived in good order and the food was outstanding. We will definitely return to dine here on our next trip to Hilton Head.
We've visited CQ's before and always have enjoyed our meals there. The service was good as always. The NY strip steak was good as were the salmon, pork chop and chowder. My husband got the swordfish and liked it (a bit dry though) but not as much as he liked the tuna which he has ordered on previous visits. However, he really liked the wedge salad. The garden salad was enhanced by a very good dressing. We'll go to CQ's again when we next visit Hilton Head!
We have eaten CQ's many times before, usually in the summer when we are staying at Sea Pines in Harbour Town. It has never disappointed. We were at Hilton Head so I could run the inaugural Hilton Head Marathon. This time, however, we were staying outside of Sea Pines and there are many choices that beckon outside the gate of Sea Pines. We chose to drive to Harbour Town to catch the sunset and then a "rewarding" meal at CQ's.
As is typical, it lived up to our previous experiences. Our server was great, the food outstanding. We had the Chowder, the Chef's Special (an encrusted flounder) and took our bread pudding dessert with us for later.
When we are in Hilton Head for a week we always make it a point to eat at CQ's.
Having been visiting Hilton Head for over 20 years and never stopped by this hidden gem. We decided to try this week and were pleasantly surprised by the ambience, service and quality of food. This is now going to be one of our favorite places. Can't wait to visit during heritage week to sit outside and enjoy a great meal/drinks with friends.
Being restaurant week in Hilton Head, there were so many restaurants to chose from, but we went to our old standby CQ's. We had the most enjoyable evening! The restaurant week menu was fabulous, as was the food. The duck mousse pate and brie appetizer was to die for. There was a very nice selection of entree's, I had the Flat Iron Steak and my wife had the whole fried Flounder - both exceptional flavor as well, except the flat iron steak was just a hair chewy - hence the 4 star rating on the food. Lastly we had the dessert - the bread pudding and the crème brule - both excellent as well. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy this fine restaurant during restaurant week at the very least - but any other time you wouldn't be disappointed either.
We dined on New Year's Day arriving at 5:30, and were offered the early bird menu along with the regular dinner menu. We decided to take advantage of the 3 course special menu but also shared the Sweet Red Beet and Arugula Salad and the Lamb Lollipop starters which we had enjoyed on our previous visit. The early bird menu was a good way to sample some of the regular menu items at a greatly reduced price. Appetizers were good but the entrees were obviously set up banquet style so did not do justice to the dishes. Desserts offered were the bread pudding of the day (Pumpkin/White Chocalate), house made sorbet (strawberry or pear), or house made peppermint icecream. The pear sorbet and icecream were excellent.
We were not waiting for such a great restaurant in Hilton Head Island! CQ's was one of the best dinners in our entire trip. I highly recommend the duck and the bread pudding. Delicious! The service was perfect, and the location of the restaurant is awesome, close to the lighthouse, in the middle of a high-class residential area.
