OpenTable Diner (Los Angeles)

Just organized a birthday dinner in Cozymel's private room for 30 ladies and it went well. Everardo, the manager, was flexible and easy to work with via email during the planning stage and our two servers, Adrienne and Julio, were very pleasant and efficient. I had shopped around various other local restaurants and Cozymel's offered the most affordable option for our group.

I had not visited this spot in nearly 16 years. Coming back was like visiting the past and reminded me of good times. Food was good, service was good, and I will be back. After the little hiccup we had with finding my reservation, the evening went pleasantly as my niece and I enjoyed conversation and the atmosphere.

We can here on a Sunday and were surprised to see a brunch set-up, which we opted for. Food for the brunch was not the best as a lot of it was either out and waiting to be replenished or had been sitting too long in the warmers. There was a small salad bar, omelette station, and dessert bar and one soup offered in addition to the usual Mexican food staples. There is also bottomless mimosas/sparkling wine included as well. Food was filling and our service from our waitress was great. There are also multiple TVs which was good for us football fans. I would come again, but would probably pass on the buffet and opt for something made to order.

No one at host stand upon arrival had to wait there for a few minutes. Chose to sit outside waitress took at least 10 minutes to just greet us. Then another 5 to just bring water. After taking our food order she did not check on us once! Another person brought out our food and realized our waters were completely empty and had been. After receiving our food the waitress never came back out which was another 20 min until I got up and walked back inside to the host stand for boxes to go. Horrible experience.

Loving the coastal Mexican foods it's a good change if people are looking for Mexican foods but wanting something different. There's seafood and chicken and beef, but everything was lite yet big plates and very filling. We went for a birthday dinner and will be going back for any other dinners loved the food

More of a family establishment. The special was good with variety of meats. The quest was terrible it was similar to movie theatre processed cheese. The flour tortillas and chips were great. The drinks are very watered down and premade unless you get premium drinks. The servers were super helpful and it was my first time using OpenTable Pay and it was easy and convenient.

We like Cozymel's for its convenience on the way home from the airport. It has good basic food and a nice frozen Margarita.

We received prompt service, prompt delivery of excellent chips and salsa, drinks and the meal. I have chicken fajitas. My wife had three chicken tacos. The two dishes came with different kinds of beans but they were both good. The guacamole that came with fajitas was fresh and authentic. The fajita meat was served in a hit griddle and the peppers and onions were sizzling perfectly. We were in and hour in a half hour, but enjoyed our meal.

Hadn't been back to Cozymel's in awhile and we took family there for a birthday. Service was good. Little waiting time for a good table. An outdoor patio area serves as a nice place to enjoy a drink away from the noise from inside. Food was was quality. The menu was a standard mix of fajitas, burritos, tostadas, etc. Margaritas were fine. All in all, a nice evening for our family.

A lot of tables in a big room made it difficult to listen. Food portions were perfect and special dietary requests were not a problem. We met with old friends and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Our waiter was over the top and made our stay memorable. For the crowd that was there, he made sure we were well taken care of.

One of the worst dining experiences here....service was slow and we needed to ask who our server was, food was OK, and the margarita's seemed watered down.

Let's just say, from the manager to the waitress, as a patron I am so underwhelmed at this point. The only one that provided good service was the cleaning guy who ended up taking our order, because the waitress after 20min NEVER came back. I made a 7:30 reservation, but after looking online saw a happy hour til 7 I purposely came at 6:50 to get the deal. I explained this as I checked in , and was told that it was not a problem I was seated immediately; however no one had come assist us, so at 7:08 I explained this again to a waitress passing by (ours was MIA) if I could place a drink order so I could get the happy hour price? She looks at her watch and says let me get the manager, I said OK because I had been sitting there waiting, although got there in enough time to not have this issue. I explained to the manager I was refereed to (after she came over 10 min later) that after sitting so long without the waitress coming to us, that I was trying to see if I could still get the happy hour priced drink, the answer was a firm NO, which was fine (I was not going to go back n forth over a drink, although on a Friday after work it would have been nice); but it was her attitude and tone she used w/me about it, that was rude and condescending. I moved on from that, and then waited for ever for our order, which they finally brought out, BUT it was our main dishes and not our appetizer. I mentioned to the guy about our appetizers, and he said O wait he took our food back, I watched him sit them on the counter, he said something to another guy; who then brought over the appetizer, he did his side table flame show with it, left and then walked over got our main dishes off the counter where they had been sitting, sat them before us and with no words walked off into the sunset. $50 (paid on the table kiosk) and no tip later, I hope this was a one time situation, although I witness others at neighboring tables missing food or mixed up as well, so probably the norm here.

I'm super picky about Mexican food. I'm a authentic type of person when it comes to food, and let me tell you the Carne Asada is the best I've ever had. I definitely will be going back.

We had a great mother's day dinner with my family. Our waiter did great in serving us, but I will say the poor guy was running around all across the restaurant to try to service his tables. I would suggest the server's table be in the same area instead of across the restaurant. Other than that we had a good time!

Granted it was a Saturday night, but the place seemed very understaffed. Our waitress was very nice and helpful and all the staff seemed to work very hard. I only lay the fault on ownership for understaffing, but considering it's part of a corporate chain, I'm not surprised. I just feel bad for the workers since they seemed to be working hard lugging those super-heavy plates around. So it took a long time to get our food, though, again, I don't blame the staff. Food was good. My beef fajitas had good seasoning. Not sure if I'd go back though. There are plenty of mom-and-pop Mexican restaurants nearby that have a better value on food.

This restaurant is just entering the GF dining pool officially and they are completely conscientious. Not only did they make me a new order of chips (in a safe fryer), they checked in with me all the way through.

Best of all, I didn't get the tell-tale migraine that often accompanies restaurants that "are new to gluten free" (when they miss). There were NO misses at Cozymel's - both the management and service were excellent.

Cozumel's has great atmosphere and delivers the food very quickly. Their food is more traditional than most other Mexican food venues. Their prices are a bit higher but can be counted on for fast, quality food.

Great experience here, receptionist need to be connected w/the guests. It was a Friday so the place was really loud so it was not cozy. Great food though and our waitress is always missing. I will probably give this place another chance.

I had bariatric surgery six months ago. So, I have very limited stomach capacity. My wife wanted Cozymels. I wasn't sure what I would be able to eat there. Maybe a kid's shredded beef taco and some tableside guacamole. It took at least 15 minutes for the server to acknowledge us. After explaining my gastric situation to the server, she informed me that I would NOT have the option of ordering just a single taco from the kid's menu. They also would not put shredded beef in a regular corn tortilla taco. (?) So, I ordered a single beef taco (no a la carte options) that came with refried beans (protein.) It took an additional 30 minutes for the guacamole to arrive. A little more than an hour after we sat down we got our very cold, very ugly dinner. My greasy, cold taco sat unimpressively next to my nearly rigid (cold) refried beans. One bite of each and I was beyond disappointed. My wife's food was equally bland and a total let-down. But, our server didn't show up for an additional 15 minutes to ask how things were. By that time, we both had decided that we were *not* coming back.

We have had consistently mediocre food and service in the past. We had hoped to give them the opportunity to turn this around. They exceeded our bleak expectations. Just in the wrong way.

Won't happen again.

Cadilac Margarita for $11, so worth it! Fajita plate for 2, is an excellent choice. Very good portion size.
Also I didn't see it in their menu but they have a Margarita sampler that is a very good starter for a fun night!
