Voted as one of the best Mexican restaurants by Gourmet Magazine, Coyote Crossing is a 20 year old icon of upscale Mexican cuisine. Featuring the first true mezcal bar in the area, and the most enchanting outdoor dining. We feature dishes like molcajetes (served in heated lava volcanic rock) and hand made Chihuahua cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers accompanied with a delicious blood orange margarita. Coyote Crossings upscale and tasteful newly renovated décor is enlightened by a natural wood fire place. All our food is cooked in our natural charcoal oven with mezcal soak wood to add a delicious touch of smokiness to our dishes. For the more relaxed diner visit our coyote cantina where our Mexican flare takes a more creative turn in a relax fun, casual environment offering an affordable bar menu with dishes like our turkey cilantro burger or fiery chipotle shrimp flat bread. A must try destination for those who appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine at its best.

15 minutes to get greeted, ordered everything for the meal then.
30 minutes to receive drinks
Exactly one hour after we were seated we received our appetizers.
Quickly after that we received our dinner.
Food was good, but the way the business is run....(absolute chaos, extremely understaffed)
Not even an apology from the management staff, no compensation for the long wait times.

Also! $14 for two pieces of Eggplant as an app.

We will never return.

Food was great but food took for ever. Something was going on in the kitchen as no one got their food before two hours. Not the norm as we have been here before

Cozy, tucked-away neighborhood gem! Creative, modern Mexican cuisine. Great, friendly service. Amazing cocktails. Outdoor dining space is quiet and charming.

Birthday celebrate as noted in the request and the server never did anything - she was 1 week new and still learning the menu. She’ll be great with more experience.

As always food was great, tried something different this time (Goat Cheese salad is always my go to). Did the Pulled Pork Quesadilla's, they were very good. Server Corey was EXCELLENT, so friendly and on top of things!

We had dinner at Coyote which was on a rainy Mother's Day, so unfortunately we were not able to sit in the outdoor dining area. We sat inside with large glass window on two sides so our view was of the outdoor area which made it nice. Food was excellent, we all enjoyed our selections. Margaritas were almost all tequila. Some would say, awesome, I would prefer a more balanced flavor. I like a kick but not all tequila. Service was very friendly, but incredibly slow. If they were overflowing with diners I'd understand, but the place on this particular day was very slow, at least during our time. The upshot: I will go back and recommend it. The food is very good, I like the ambiance, it is somewhat unique and has been consistently good over the years. Maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen staff. That's where the slow down seemed to come from.

Overall it was a positive experience. Downside our server appeared overworked and only 2 desserts were available from menu.

Our waiter was very cool and helpful, but appeared to have multiple tables under his purview making the service pretty awful. Extremely pricey as well.

Attending a work conference and I brought my team of 7 (8 including me) here for dinner. Only issue we have is the service was slow. Drinks were brought promptly but we sat there a long time before our dinner order was taken. In fact, we had to get up and go to the front desk to say "hey we are still waiting for our order to be taken". When we did though someone was right there. I think at one point we had to go find someone to refill drinks too and also to bring the bill. The food was very tasty, no complaints about that. We had an appointment scheduled for after dinner and were late to that because of the slow service.

Great food, great waiter, but ambiance was not as nice as I remembered. Maybe bc it was Cinco de Mayo, so more party atmosphere and very loud. Hard to talk to anyone not directly beside you.

I was really excited to try this place - but the food was just okay. For $30 fajitas I was expecting a lot more flavor - I ate two fajitas because I was hungry and haven't looked twice at my leftovers. The outdoor seating was nice and I enjoyed the mojito. My favorite part of the meal was the salsa and chips they give you.... be ready to spend a lot of money on an unimpressive meal.

Ate here on a beautiful Thursday night with my fiance. The restaurant itself is a very nice looking facility, with very nicely decorated dining areas inside and outside on the patio. Our waitress was extremely friendly, informative, and attentive. We never had to ask for water refills and she came to check on us multiple times throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We both ordered their signature lava rock bowls, which were very tasty and fun. Drinks were equally fun and satisfying.

Only minus I would give Coyote is that their pricing is a little high for Mexican food, at least in my experience. I didn't see a single entree on the menu that was less than $23 and chips and guac was almost $14! Drinks were also expensive. I paid $13-$14 for a glass of sangria, although it was a nice sized glass.

Overall I would recommend as the atmosphere, service, and food are all great, but be prepared to drop a little more $ than you might expect to.

Perfect date night spot. We haven’t been able to get back for a while, and we were really missing the queso fundido. It’s seriously the best. Now that the weather is warm, they have the big doors open in the bar area, giving it a nice open air feel. Love this place. <3

Our server went above and beyond to make the birthday date night so special (brought out cake and sang even though it was by himself it was so sweet, we sang with him of course). Was really nice and came in to check with us the right amount of times. The food was amazing and the serving was a lot. Guacamole was to die for. Absolutely loved everything about our visit here.

I have been there several times and the food is always fabulous. Although they weren’t prepared for the 80+ degrees, and didn’t have the outdoor patio ready for the crowd of customers, they quickly got it ready and it was a wonderful evening outside. Because of the unusually large number of customers, service was a little slower than usual, but they mitigated that with complimentary cocktails. What’s not to like about that?

We went on the first nice night of the year and made reservations. We were seated at 7:45 and received our appetizers at 9:20 pm. They were extremely under staffed and after waiting all that time for the food we were told one of the apps that we ordered wasn’t available.

It's a great place if you don't mind poor service and you have nowhere to go for the next 5 hours.
We had reservation... Hostess was great at sitting us. Server didn't come over for about 10 mins. Ordered drinks that didn't show up until 20 mins later. Chips, gauc and salsa took another 30 mins to arrive. Server didn't come back to take our orders for another 45 mins. No joke! If I wasn't in the company of a sweet beautiful lady I would have mind. Food was OK. Service was poor. He did hook us up with some free drinks. I've waited tables. I don't think it was the servers fault. It looked like he had 8 tables. Poor management is where I put blame. If they didn't have that killer patio the place would fade away. I'd be reluctant to go back.

Coyote Crossing was awesome. The food was amazing, portion sizes were huge (we needed 2 tables!! For just 2 of us!).

- The queso fundido was the best we’ve had (and we order it everywhere we go)
- Guacamole was perfect
- They even have quesadillas on corn tortillas (for those who can’t do much gluten, like me)

For dinner, I had the Cameron al Chile Arbol, which is actually the dish that made me pick the restaurant. It was every bit as good as I’d hoped.

My boyfriend had a flank steak w/ mole sauce that he said was awesome too.

Our only regret is that somehow this place has been open for 22 years and we JUST found out about it. (Better late than never! 😬)

Looking forward to warmer weather and enjoying their patio!

We got there a little early for our reservation and the place was packed. The manager looked completely flustered. He told us it would be a little while before we were seated. We didn’t have a problem only we could not get to the bar and nobody offered to help us. We waited over an hour to be seated, when we had a reservation that was not honored. Once seated we then waited to be served. The food was good but not once did they did not make any effort to give us a free appetizer or even comp us for our drinks. We shouldn’t have had to say anything it should have been offered. He came right out and told us he took the walk-ins before us because of the power outages, not nice. Not sure I will run back. We complained about upgraded tequila that we did not receive and the waitress argued with us, and then she apologized because we were in fact correct.
