Coyote Crossing - Conshohocken Ratings and Reviews
What a nice surprise to find this restaurant right in the middle of a residential section! The food was amazing! Coming from California I did not expect a lot from a Mexican restaurant in Pennsylvania... It exceeded my expectations in food and drink. Delicious chicken enchiladas mole. The guacamole was good and the new pomegranate cosmo with mezcal was delicious! I wish I lived closer to go again. Trust that I will be back when I'm on the east coast! Our server was great, Chris was great, Oscar was tending bar and doing a bang up job! The only person I missed meeting was Carlos who was away on a trip. Maybe next time! Thanks for a great meal!
Service was good, food was good and I loved the ambiance. We weren't able to sit outside because it was wet but it was definitely nice to look at. They kept the slide open, so the fresh air would come in. Also the drinks were really good. I recommend the red sangria
There was a large birthday party in the bar area, and clearly they were not staffed to handle this. Apologies were made, but the service was so slow, and constantly looked around for the waitress for every little thing, like water refill, drink request, etc.
We arrived on time for our 7.30 Saturday reservation, were seated immediately on the patio, but our meal didn’t arrive until 9:00! That’s unacceptable. The food was very good but we took most of it home because we were so full from munching on chips and salsa while we waited. That said, the outdoor area is very nice and the waitress was attentive and apologetic, said they were very short-staffed.
So, the night we dined Coyote was short on hostesses, servers, bartenders, and cooks. Apparently, multiple people had called out. I didn't mind waiting a bit longer for food, it was just that, they continued to seat people even though the table next to us had been waiting for food for two hours. When you're that backed up, it's not feasible to continue to seat people. Some tables even left.
Now the manager came out, apologized, and offered free drinks and was working behind the bar himself, and that was noticed and much appreciated. The ambiance is great. The dinner....I mean can you serve the fajitas with guacamole, salsa, our sour cream? The prices are a bit high to just get roasted vegetables and a few tortillas. Overall, the meals weren't impressive. Stick with the apps and the drinks-they were the best.
Great experience, love the outdoor patio.
Tried 2 different entrees from the specialty area of the menu... loved both, and very impressed with the Mole sauce. The margaritas were awesome... highly recommend the jalapeno ginger, cucumber basil, and sometimes the have a mezcal margarita on special.
We had dinner on the patio Friday night and had a great time. Our waiter was very attentive and helped with menu choices. I highly recommend the fried oysters tacos for an appetizer or as your meal along with another small dish. Great drinks, great food and great atmosphere!
Have been to Coyote Crossing many times. The food is getting a bit more exotic and pricey. The quality was great. However, the "special" margarita that was offered at $14 was just okay. Love the outdoor patio. The expanded bar that extends into the outdoor dining is terrific for warmer months. A bit disappointed in the escalating prices. Would opt for appetizers and cocktails in the bar.
My seafood poblano and my dining companion's enchiladas were outstanding. The restaurant IS rather pricey ($12 for guacamole?!) but the garden seating is absolutely lovely. Particularly great for a special occasion, especially on a week night when it is less likely to be crowded.
We can't comment. One person didn't like the food at all - the corn chips were dull (like eating wood chips), the salad was way too hot with cayenne pepper or something and the beef chipotle was so salty he couldn't eat it ; one person enjoyed the food immensely and the third person was in the middle. The host was very nice; the waitress was delightful; The setting and atmosphere were very nice. We waited a long time for the meal, however.
Our server Michelle from Venezuela made the experience really great. My friend and I had only a 3 hour window to catch up and the service was relatively quick and the food good and portions huge. We split an appetizer and an entree and took home leftovers! Appreciated the gluten free options. Dining room got louder after those enjoying margaritas at happy hour came inside to eat. Was offered outdoor dining options, but the forecast (and clouds) were a bit ominous so we opted to sit inside.
Had dinner with a friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. We ordered appetizers for our meal and they were more than enough. The fresh salsa is outstanding as was the fresh made guacamole. We had traditional margueritas which also were excellent. I love the southwestern decore and the glassware is so cool! Will definitely go back there!
This place went down in my view after last night's visit. The service was not good. Both the server seemed like he was way too new to be on his own and the person filling water glasses talked way to much while my date and I attempted to have a discussion. The guacamole tasted lime it was made a few days ahead and the butter fish was way over cooked. I will not be returning.
It's the first time there from brunch although I have been there for lunch and happy hour plenty of times. Unfortunately it was disappointing. Morning beverages like mimosas and bloody's were terrible. The food was meh. The guacamole totally overpriced. Besides us there were a few flies in the dinning room. Now we know why. Sad because the service was great as well as the restaurant's appealing aesthetics... but the bartender and kitchen need help
We had been to Coyote Crossing a few times in the past for appetizers and drinks and don't remember ever having as many issues as we did this time. We had no trouble ordering (although everyone else had received chips and salsa when they ordered and we never saw either). We ordered nachos for an appetizer and my husband got the enchiladas and I ordered a steak quesadilla appetizer as my meal. The nachos were very good. Unfortunately, the meal didn't match up to the nachos. My husband asked for a side of sour cream and guacamole with his meal, neither of which came out nor did anyone stop by to check on us for us to ask for it. I know I ordered the appetizer portion for the quesadilla and expected it to be on the smaller side but when I am paying almost $20 for a steak quesadilla, I'd expect a little more than 2 pieces of quesadilla thrown on a plate with a little cup of salsa. They tasted fine but way overpriced. To top it off, when we got the check (after waiting 15 minutes for it), she charged us for a more expensive wine than what we ordered. When we brought it to her attention, she absolutely insisted they were the same price. Eager to get out of there, we paid it (and waited another 15 minutes for the check to come back out) but double checked the prices on a menu on our way out and she did in fact over charge us. Overall, things could have been worse, but we will definitely not be returning any time soon.
I've been to Coyote several times. I love sitting in the patio area. The white sangria is good. Seems like they changed their menu though. I think they are trying too hard to be different. I prefer how the old menu was. Food was ok but why mess with good ol mexican! Definitely worth the visit, but best to have a few drinks in the outdoor patio area and some apps with a group of friends rather than a formal dinner.
Awesome place with great food . Loved the outdoor seating.
My one complaint was we ordered pitchers of sangria and they were so watered down. We kept asking for less ice in the pitcher and after the 3rd pitcher it finally tasted like it had alcohol in it.
This restaurant used to be awesome and we have eaten here for years. We were uniformly disappointed with the food quality. Almost felt like the dishes were made at lunch time and served for dinner. Stale, salty and ehhh. Our waiter Jorge was awesome.
