First let me say we have eaten here and had happy hour here several times in the past. The food has always been overpriced for good but never great Mexican food. Point of reference the fajitas here cost 35% more than the fajitas at Jose Garces’ Distrito and pale in comparison.
With that said it’s convenient so we took our boys there tonight. Food was warm, lacking much flavor, and the service was awful.
Maybe it was just an off night but in our opinion the experience was so disappointing we won’t give them another chance. There are too many consistently good restaurants out there in this price range.
It was terrible. Kitchen was closing at 8 but no one told us and our reservation was at 7:15. We were rushed through our ordering and our eating. Food came out wrong and the the seafood came out undercooked. Couldn’t get all the dessert options either. Terrible experience. Manager didn’t even come over to apologize.
One of the the best restaurants i’ve been to honestly! We loved the food and the service. The menu is great and isn’t extremely long or confusing. The food tasted perfect. Great place!
We have been here once before. Our first experience and this experience were like night and day. Our first experience the service, food, and environment were perfect.
This second experience was on Valentines Day. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The environment was nice, though you could tell they were packing as many people as they could into the restaurant due to the cold and the holiday. Waiters and waitresses were squeezing by each other and chairs of guests.
We had water, but appetizers came out before our drinks. Two margaritas. We mentioned our drinks to the waitress about half way through the appetizers. They finally came. My margarita was supposed to be made with mango purée, but I could tell it was orange juice. It didn’t taste bad so I didn’t really care, but it was slightly disappointing and surprising for the quality of this place last time.
Our entrees came after a decent wait. Hubby ordered a chicken chorizo burrito. It was only chicken. Still, the quality was good. He ate it. I ordered tacos de carnitas, and what was brought to me was a carnitas burrito. I’d been waiting a while so I took the burrito with a smile. The quality was good. The waiter came back with another carnitas burrito and we told him it wasn’t ours (there were only two of us at the table?). I was now concerned we May have been eating someone else’s orders.
We had ordered a second round of drinks (I went with a regular margarita this time), and they took a while to come also. My husband ended up not drinking all of his because he was stuffed from his dinner (they came mid to end of entrees).
All in all, the service was a bit awful for this holiday, but the food was delicious and the ambiance was nice. Will come back again on a non holiday.
The setting was nice, the staff was friendly but could use a few lessons on customer service, the seating was really tight, the food was good but overpriced for the portion and presentation, the tenderloin was very good. The spicy margarita was fun and spicy.
Went here with a few friends for dinner and did not have a good experience. We did get seated right away, but our first round of drinks took about a half hour to come out. Our appetizers also took a very long time to come out and when they did, they seemed like they had been sitting for some time. One of our orders came out incorrectly, and the main course took extremely long to come out. The manager did give us some money off of our bill, but do not think it is worth the trouble to go back here.
Always outstanding! One of my favorite restaurants in the Philly suburbs!
The service was poor and the food & drinks were way overpriced.
The food was excellent and the ambiance was very nice, but the service was incredibly slow. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food- even the appetizer took about an hour.

Good. When I did not like the dip the manager came over and apologized and took the item off the bill. Very nice.
The space is a great one. Beautiful restaurant, nicely decorated, festive. All of the guests in my party agreed - the food was excellent - very tasty Mexican. Our server was also really great; however, the main problem was how slow the service is. Both the bar and the kitchen were extremely slow. Drinks took quite a while to come out. And it took 45 minutes to get our entrees (and we ordered no appetizers). Both drinks (recommend the fresh, blood orange margarita - sometimes fresh drinks take time!) and food made it worth it, along with our patient and reassuring server. We had drinks at the bar afterwards and the trend continued. Most patrons I spoke to felt the same way. With some better service management, this place would be great.
We had made a reservation on opentable. Coyote crossing said the didn’t have it and we had to sit in the bar area.
New Year’s Eve and the food and service was amazing!

We very much enjoyed our dinner and margaritas. The service was fantastic. The owner greeted us at our table. The food was unique, authentic, and priced fairly. We will definitely keep this place in our rotation.
George was fabulous and made us feel like we were important. We have been coming for years and years and Carlos is still as accommodating as always. The manager woman was very nice too.
Surprised that chips and salsa were not free at dinner but a paid appetizer. Also has the fajitas with shrimp but it had and no real spice to it. Nice ample selection of fried onions & peeper’s. My wife had the salmon tacos which were good. The black bean refried beans were excellent Haven’t been for a while but other than chips and bland fajitas the food was great.
I went to eat with my boyfriend for our 2 year anniversary. The food was superb and came out very fast we ordered the tenderloin nachos when were sooo good! They came out with so much we weren’t even half way through when our entrees came out! I ordered the puntas chipotle with chicken and my boyfriend ordered the molcajete with steak. Let me just say that it was exactly what i was hoping to eat tonight. And the service was amazing the manager even came around to see if we needed anything else and just to let her know, our waiter was very attentive and quick on his feet. We told our waiter we were celebrating and he came out with churros and a heart on the dish for our anniversary! It was so cute! We are definitely coming back!
Excellent all around. I ordered cebollitas (that weren’t on the menu) along with main meal. Excellent. The manager and server Shairif were very attentive .

We have had good experiences at Coyote Crossing. This time, though the food was good and the server was friendly, the food was served cold and service was slow.
My Wife and I have been going to Coyote Crossing for special occasions for a few years. We were thrilled yet again with our meal and service. My favorite dish is the Enchiladas De Pollo with mole sauce. Give Coyote Crossing a try, You won’t be disappointed. Keep up the great work! We will be customers for many years to come.
The food was excellent and the drinks were good. We weren't in a hurry, which was good because the service, as attentive as it was, was not super fast. That's not to say that there were any issues with the service as the staff as friendly and inviting. The portions were good, however I feel the price of the dishes were on the high side for a Mexican restaurant. I would go back if in the area again.
Carlos, the owner visited our table to explain one of the dishes and checked on our experience several times during our meal. He is awesome and has an wonderful staff who also care about every person who comes to the restaurant.

Food was very good, as was the service. Atmosphere was quiet and the decor made for a very pleasant surrounding. A surprising neighborhood gem situated just a little off the beaten path.
This place is amazing! We walked in and the manager greeted us with a simile. The dining room is beautifully decorated. Our server was super friendly and patient he really took the time to explain the menu. The food came out in a timely manner, it was delicious, to say the least. Overall it was a wonderful experience we will be back!
We ordered 3 apps to share for dinner. We waited 50 minutes and I asked for the manager. I explained we were waiting and what was up. Meanwhile a man who said he was the owner cane out with one of our apps and told me that the food ticket was lost and our food was just made. He lied. The one app that was fried was ice cold. The other app was a fundido which is Mexican fondu. You had to cut if with a knife. There was no way this was just made. The nachos came with black beans when we asked them to Serve on the side. My dinner partner can not eat beans. We sent the nachos back to be remade. The manager apologized profusely but it took her 3 stops at the table and she only comped the taquitos. Back to the server. She never came back to the table. The buser was the only one who came to see if we were ok. The server stood in the dining room talking to two other employees for 15 minutes while we waited for the check. Then we had to flag her down to pay. The bill was over $80 for 3 apps and 2 drinks. For that kind of money I expected a different experience. The only thing good I can say is the ambiance was nice and the bathrooms were clean. I probably will never go back. Bummer because I use to really like it there.
I had been wanting to go to Coyote Crossing for quite awhile and my husband had been resistant, since he had once been there on a business meal and not enjoyed it. I told him I wanted the opportunity to make my own impression. It had gotten some really good reviews. I should have listened to my husband. My first impression after we were seated at a very small table for two, was why were we seated at such a small table when the restaurant was half full and we could have been seated at a larger table like the couple next to us and most other couples in the place. My second impression was how loud the music was making it very difficult to hear anything other than the very loud (your forced to be loud couples at the tables on either side of us). My third impression was when I went to unwrap my cutlery and both my fork and knife had food on it left over from their previous guest usage. I was ready to leave at that point. But stayed. One good point was the Negra Modelo on tap. We ordered the guacamole, which doesn't come table side and you can tell is prepared way ahead of time because it was refrigerator cold. the chips were also cold and stale. I ordered the steak fajitas. There was no room on the table for all the accouterments. The steak was well prepared. It was mostly peppers, no other veg with it. Old shredded lettuce , chopped tomatoes and sour cream on the side. Very expensive for $28. My husband had the almond chicken. He said the chicken was good but it was minus the almond. Also expensive. When we were asked if we wanted to take anything home we were told they would bring us boxes. I should think that at these prices they could at a minimum box the left overs for their customers. I tried the guacamole the next day. It was spoiled and had to be thrown out. That shows that it was not fresh when it was served less than 24 hours previously. I don't recommend this restaurant.
Really disappointed last night. Have enjoyed in the past. One sever for over 10 4+ top tables in the bar, server tried but no success. One appetizer was forgotten, food runner deliver food to wrong table twice. Entree wait time was over 50 minutes any several tables around us who had ordered after us were served first. Server attempted to ask for help from management to no avail. When I requested mgt. Come to table she arrived with no comprehension of the situation, when she discussed it with server she chose to give us excuses instead of just apologizing - very poor form. Did give us a discount, but did not feel authentic or caring. Also, 2 pitchers of $75 margaritas - split by 3 people...not even a little buzzed, if you are going to charge that much for a margherita, perhaps there should be some liquor in it! Extremely disappointed, will not return. Will let others know.
**Update, Carlos, the owner of Coyote Crossing just called me and personally apologized and asked us back. Very nice move and we will accept his invitation. It is a wonderful thing just to hear an authentic apology and please allow me the chance to make it better. So appreciated, #therightthingtodo!
Place is always pretty good, never great. Drinks are good. Food can be good to average. Service varies from attentive to slow.
Outside ambiance is amazing. Fun for adults and families. Inside dining room acoustics are extremely loud. With the number of competitive Mexican places in the region, I think CC has an opportunity to reinvent themselves. I want it to succeed as it’s close but we tend to drive further for better.
Great drinks. Black bean soup was to die for. Guac...amazing. Gr8 drinks!
Restaurant Menu was lacking. Had to ask for bar menu to get some tocos. Food was decent. Service was lacking. Not sure where all the high ratings come from. I’m guessing if you are in the bar area it’s a great local place for drinks, tocos and ceviche. But don’t let the bar ratings disguise the restaurant.
Great food, nice old rustic style of restaurant. Quiet and enjoyable.
Just not great Mexican/Southwest food. Add poor service, bad attitudes in a cusp neighborhood with little parking and it all amounts to POOR.

I come for their margaritas. They are super expensive but strong and great. Service is slow so come and sit and relax. Food is delish but again expensive. They’ve now added 3% credit card charge. So annoying.
We try to limit how many times a week we eat out... but if one of us gets the idea for queso in our head, it’s all out the window, bc Coyote Crossing’s queso fundido is the best, and there’s no denying that craving. 😊
We love this place so much. It’s one of our absolute staples. You want the best chicken enchiladas you’ve ever had in your life? Coyote Crossing is your place. Ditto for the very best queso fundido (def add poblanos and chorizo - it’s so good).
Last time we were in, we deviated from our normal order a bit and I had the seafood poblano. SO good. Definitely going into the rotation.
For some reason, despite being stuffed to the point of exploding, my bf decided to order dessert and took our server’s recommendation of the fried cheesecake.
Absolutely incredible, enough for two people. Do yourself a favor and do it the justice it deserves and box up part of your meal to go so you have room for it. 😅
We’ve literally never left Coyote Crossing hungry... which is partially bc everything is so delicious we order more food than we need every time... but also because the portions are generous and awesome.
