The food is always amazing, and so is the service. The servers are great at knowing when you need something or if you just want to take your time and relax. This is a great special occasion place to eat. The prices are a little high, but it is well worth it for the quality of food and service. We go for all of our special occasions (anniversaries, birthdays. etc) and when we want to have a fancy date night. Love it!

I was a little disappointed. My scallops, puree and sauce were very good, but the vegetables that came with it were not very good. It was quite cold in the restaurant, every time the door opened the whole place cooled off quite a bit even though it's a big place. There are better restaurants in Santa Fe, so I probably would not return since it is not cheap to eat here.

Simply amazing Elk Tenderloin. Beautifully plated, and every bite was heavenly. I was able to watch the chefs in the kitchen, and they are magicians. Service was timely and highly hospitable. One area for improvement: Management should reconsider the additional "Kitchen" service charge that is automatically added to every check -- with the deservedly high price of the dishes, the owners should be supplementing the kitchen staff with higher wages already.

This restaurant was recommended to my fiancé and I several times during the course of our stay in beautiful Santa Fe. The reviews found on various sites repeatedly ranked it high, so I really wanted to love it.
Let's start with the good, the server and overall service was top notch. Our waiter, whom I wish I could give credit to but fail to recall his name, was wonderful; knowledgable, pleasant, and helpful. The service was fantastic, the entire staff was on the ball without being rude or intrusive. We were given a complimentary soup tasting, which was so amazing I asked the waiter if I could order it for dinner, which they were happy to do in spite of it not actually being on the menu.
Why the 3 stars on ambiance? It wasn't that there was anything wrong per se with the restaurant, but it just wasn't anything special. Places like Geronimo, or Radish and Rye or Sazon all had different charming elements that make each of them stand out in their own right. Sadly, Coyote fell short here. That isn't to say it wasn't comfortable or cozy, it just wasn't worthy of 4 or 5 stars.
My date ordered the elk tenderloin and we were both disappointed, again it wasn't that it was bad, it just wasn't great. And after a week in Santa Fe, we had come to expect great. Perhaps it was just an off night, or perhaps we ordered the wrong selection, but neither one of us could give it a 5 star rating.
I know Coyote Cafe is considered to be a gem as evidenced by the many 5 star reviews, and for this reason we will give it another try when our travels bring us back to Santa Fe.

Excellent service with gorgeously presented, delicious food! What's not to like?!

My group got the corn soup and the chicory salad as starters... both delicious. I will say--the corn soup was a little sweet, but paired nicely with the sausage in it.

For mains, we got the elk tenderloin, the duck confit, and a special shrimp and corn cakes. All were absolutely amazing! The elk tenderloin was lean but tender, and the potatoes and greens were delicious! The duck confit was really great when paired with the caramelized onions... and it was served with 2 mole sauce options (a mole negro and a mole amarillo... I greatly preferred the negro). The special (jumbo shrimp and corn cakes) was tasty and rich, but so decadent we couldn't finish it between the 3 of us!

Best of all, the service was OUTSTANDING. We were asked regularly (but not annoyingly so) if we enjoyed what we were eating/drinking, and we felt so well taken care of! HIGHLY RECOMMEND DINNER AT THE COYOTE CAFE!!!

Santa Fe has some good restaurants and some great restaurants but the Coyote Café is superlative in every respect. While the entrées are on the expensive side, they are creative, fresh, and the tastiest of the meals we had in Santa Fe. We’ve been going to Santa Fe for years and have never dined at the Café. Now we will never miss it again. The Coyote Café is a treat

We’ve dined here several times and have always enjoyed the experience. This was a special Birthday dinner with friends and it too was very good. The service was outstanding, as always! The one problem we did have I think was resolved. We were overcharged for two bottles of wine but I believe the refund will appear on our credit card soon.

Came for Thanksgiving and had a positively perfect and wonderful dining experience.

Coyote Cafe completely surpassed expectations with a comfortable and mellow dining experience despite the fact that they were churning out hundreds of meals for the holiday dinner. Their staff were pleasant and friendly and eager to please.

We had the Fuji Apple salad to start with a subbed in poached pear that was delicious, as was our traditional turkey dinner with all the dressings. The turkey was cooked to perfection and the entire meal from start to finish was quite a treat! We picked the flourless chocolate cake and pumpkin pie for desert and agreed Coyote Cafe is now on our list of tops when visiting Santa Fe! Highly recommend!

Thanksgiving pre-fixe menu tonight was great. Wonderful warm service, great selection of appetizers and mains, really good wine list, and delicious desserts. Thanksgiving is not an easy meal to get right at a restaurant, but Coyote did it. We (table of five) had foie gras, apple salad, and corn soup. All delicious. For mains: 2 traditional turkeys, 1 elk sirloin, filet mignon, and pork osso bucco. All great. Good pumpkin pie and banana cream pie. Service extremely attentive and gracious. Highly recommend Coyote Cafe for your special occasion!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at the bar and it was a wonderful experience.
The chef was entertaining and found the time to explain what he was cooking.
Our bartender, Abraham, was delightful.
The service was seamless.
And of course the food was superb!
The last time we were here it was owned by Mark Miller, and its always a challenge to meet one's expectations from long ago. But this new incarnation was up to the task.
I would highly reccomend the Coyote Cafe when you are in Santa Fe.

Our family enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at Coyote Café while visiting Santa Fe. We appreciated the variety of options on the price fixed menu, and we tried several entree's all of which were delicious. The service was friendly and helpful and we appreciated that we were not rushed through our meal even though it was an extremely busy day for the restaurant. We loved the unfussy, contemporary Santa Fe décor highlighted by an amazing red/orange Chihuly chandelier-beautiful!! Our meal was delightful and relaxing which is sometimes very hard to find with Holiday restaurant experiences as the crowds and noise levels can be unsettling.

Nothing to even quibble about with this place. Nice place, wonderfully prepared dishes, and GREAT service. We were celebrating our anniversary and were delighted to be reunited with server extraordinaire Nate from the very much missed Galisteo Bistro. This is one of Santa Fe's best restaurants. It isn't inexpensive, but it's worth every penny.
