Coyote Cafe Ratings and Reviews
We had our anniversary dinner at The Coyote and it was splendid! Our waiter was attentive and knowledgable. He suggested the perfect Pinot Noir to complement both my lobster dish and my husband's elk tenderloin. The food was excellent from the butternut squash soup to the lovely chocolate dessert that they brought to our table in celebration of the anniversary! We has a super time and will recommend The Coyote to any and all. I bragged about them on Facebook too!
Live in Las Cruces and would drive the 286 miles any day to eat at Coyote Cafe. The service is always superb, the food...par excellence. Came this weekend for anniversary and food was delightful. Sat at the Counter and watched these wonderful chefs from all over the world, cook sublime dishes. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, not pretentious. This is always our ‘go to’ place...whether it’s a drink at the convivial bar or eating in the dining room. After trying everything, I think we will always reserve seats at the counter. Learned several tips for cooking lamb chops and lobster. Overall...a fantastic evening of great wine and food!
Our 3rd visit but with some trepidation given a new chef. Rest assured, he's brilliant.
Not cheap but a foodie dream. I had the cauliflower soup, which is among my Top 10 dishes of all time. Can't stop thinking about it. The tartare was also exceptional. The bed or arugula bed was perfect. Didn't eat the shishitos but my wife said they were good. The horseradish pancakes were quite mild. Finally, the most original presentation of a caesar salad ever. And well done! I won't spoil it. Give it a try. My wife's elk tenderloin was perfect too.
Services was excellent. Available but not intrusive. Knowledgeable. Articulate.
We do love the ambiance and they're closing for January 2018 to do a makeover. If you too love the ambiance, you've got 3 weeks....
Note for those who haven't been: it's up some stairs. Not sure if they have an elevator, but check first. They also have the Coyote Cantina at the top of the stairs. Careful which way you turn.
No dedicated parking that I know of. Park in the city garage and exit from the rear...the street that CC is on.
Final word: we were in NYC recently and CC stands up to the best we had there (which was Esce, btw), IMHO.
As always, the experience at the Coyote Cafe was impeccable. The food was delicious, Kristin (my server) was spot on with her recommendations and was very attentive. I love this restaurant (this is my fourth visit this year), and they only give me more reasons to want to return. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving feast at the Coyote Cafe. I was mainly a bit disappointed at how slow the kitchen was to prepare my dish (lobster) because they got too overwhelmed with all the turkey orders (we were sitting on barstools and watching them work, so I saw the issue firsthand). I guess that it was good that observing all the activity helped to make the wait time seem shorter. All of the food was terrific, particularly the desserts.
This was most memorable meal I've had in years. Fabulous tomahawk pork chop, moist and with lively seasoning. The elk tenderloin at our table was equally excellent with delicious marrow sautéed with truffles. The butternut squash soup started things off wonderfully, nearly matched by the leek/cauliflower soup. Great flavors all around, without a bit of the fussiness I've experienced a lot of lately.
This was our first time being disappointed after having dined at Coyote Cafe several times before. It was my husband's choice for his birthday dinner. He ordered lobster tails and was quite pleased with his meal. I ordered sea bass, and it was so rubbery I could not eat it. Our nice server sent the fish back to the kitchen and brought me a delicious complimentary squash soup to enjoy while I waited for my entree. Much to my disappointment, the new serving of fish was also over cooked. We ended up having some delicious desserts paired with complimentary wines. We will return, but I must say," Coyote Cafe - you can do better".
We had the most wonderful anniversary dinner tonight! Ben was our amazing waiter . He was the most attentive and personable waiter we have had in some time. He steered us to great choices- squash soup, elk, lamb chops, and the sea bass. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. It was the perfect evening! The other wait staff were also great!
Fantastic local restaurant - amazing food, extensive wine list, creative cocktails and exceptional service. A highlight is the "open kitchen" concept bar where you can watch the masterful food prep. Although prices are a bit higher than average, they represent a good value considering the food, drinks and service. Highly recommend.
This is one of those places where you can have a quick meal without spending a lot or, you can do the opposite. We did the opposite. Do the starter. Do a cocktail at the bar. Do sit at the counter and engage with the people working the line. Ask them what is good, tell them what you do and don’t like. It’s worth it. Definitely get dessert.
Great experience dining at coyote cafe. Treated like family from the start. The owner Quin is totally hands on. Greeting guests , taking orders checking on tables. The drinks are awesome, food outstanding and service couldn't be better. Outstanding dining experience! Not to be missed when in santa fe!
Wonderful Birthday evening....incredible food and drink and the service and attention we received from Kristin really topped it all off for us. Thank you for making my # 55 so memorable. Ok...now a warning...the Cowboy cut steak is huge, we shared it and still came home with enough for another meal.....NO complaints at all, just kind of humerous how big it was! Absolutely delicious!
Love, Love, Love this place. The atmosphere is energetic but still good for a date or intimate group. The food is amazing but what really makes this place shine is the INCREDIBLE service! We live a few hours away and have dined here on occasion. Our waiter recognized us from months back and he was the first to say "Hey, have you been here before because you look familiar. I think I've waited on you before". I knew it wasn't just "a line" as he recognized my son and husband as dining but not me... and I wasn't there last time. Great experience!
We were staying in Santa Fe and decided to give Coyote Cafe a try. I thought it was only a casual outdoor cantina but it turned out that the main inside dining room was very nice. The wait staff were well dressed in long-sleeved shirts and vests and service was great and attentive. The food was excellent and prepared well. I was upset at myself that I couldn't finish my meal. A doggie bag was out of the question since we were visiting. I would highly recommend this place.
