The restaurant was full so it was a bit noisy but the atmosphere there is fantastic- warm and inviting. The servers are great. The food is relatively simple in style but delicious- perfect for what I like. It’s a go-to kind of place.
David @ the Bar :: incredible
Informative interesting and concise descriptions
Engaged and engaging but not smothering
Just a delight- and he was totally right - everything was great - the broccolini was stellar
delicious food, great service, well priced, happy!
This was a really nice place to go with our adult son and his wife. The food was very well-prepared; the appetizers were uniquely constructed and very savory, the pastas were perfect, and the salmon was well-executed. Wine and beer were well priced with a small but decent selection. We really liked the 'neighborhood feel'. I enjoyed our experience enough to highly recommend the restaurant.
Decent food and ambiance. Service, however, was most disappointing part of meal - long lead time before initial service, broken wine glass when removing from table with limited concern for quickly cleaning or addressing break, and fair insight on menu recommendations.
This was our second visit to Covina. Very good service. Excellent cocktails. Interesting menu with good pizza and pasta dishes. We enjoyed Covina and would return next time in NYC. Thank you especially for the very good service and for a dining room that is not too loud -- and the good food and drinks.
Horrible experience. Made i
Covina is hands down my favorite restaurant in NYC. So much so, that I've gone to Covina with my now fiancé for the past three years on my birthday. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion, because the food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is sophisticated yet cozy, and the service is top notch.
I recently went for my birthday on November 6, and we had Allie as our server. We let her know we were celebrating, and she started us off with complimentary glasses of champagne! We really appreciated her letting us try a couple different wines before we chose one (the Pinot Noir is killer), and she let us know all of the new additions to the menu since the last time we were there. She also gave us her personal recommendations, which we ended up taking (and glad we did!). I love how the menu has a diverse range of food, not just Italian specialties like pizza and pasta, but also fish, steak, and vegetable dishes.
We ordered the ricotta and fig toast appetizer to start, followed by the mushroom tagliatelle pasta, and a half/half split pizza of the spicy honey and coppa/spinach. Allie let us in on the secret that we could split the pizza between two different kinds. Overall, the food was 10/10-- Italian food with a modern twist. We really enjoyed all of the spices and flavors.
Lastly, Allie gave us a complimentary desert sampler, that we absolutely weren't expecting. It included a mini cupcake with a candle, an apple tart with vanilla ice cream, and a scoop of s'mores gelato. The s'mores gelato was my favorite! It was a great way to put an end to a great meal and an amazing birthday in general.
I HIGHLY recommend Covina to anyone looking for a good meal/experience in the city. Thanks again to Allie for taking care of us the other day and really making my evening super special.
This was a great place to take some business partners for a relaxed meal. The wait staff was great, except a wine was suggested for us, then they only had 1 bottle of it, and we were a party of 6. I'll ask more questions next time. I know I will be going back!!!
A lovely breakfast and a very positive experience! Enjoyed it and will happily return
Just a very poor experience from start to finish
I stayed as a guest at the hotel and it was the only restaurant that we went. Loved es the 3 meals. Pancakes, cappuccinos, the pizza the tomato soup, and the vegetarian pasta... amazing
Food was very good, the price was high, the service was awful, the ambiance was nice.
We went with another couple. Damn close to a first rate dining experience. Our server Allie was cordial and attentive. Burrata and hummus appetizers were superb. Entree of salmon prepared as requested and a good size portion. Pasta I had was clearly freshly made in house and delicious. Everything was served hot a big plus. Wines by the glass are pricey. But other than that a good time was had by all.
Love this spot! Great food, cool atmosphere.
Loved the atmosphere...food was really good. Great service too!
We waited over an hour to sit despite making a reservation. Food was great once we sat.
This was THE BEST pizza spot. It was so easy to get to by walking and subway is only a block away. For NYC pizza, it’s hard to beat that $1 slice... but this definitely surpassed all expectations! The staff was great with their menu and also did an amazing job with pairing wine with the different menu entrees.
This is a resturant that everything from the side salad to their pizza’s taste fresh and the menu is very well curated. A great ambiance for friends or a romantic date.
PS: The Spicy Honey pizza is to die for - and I’m not even a big spice girl.
Reserved a table for 8 for brunch and were seated in a small alcove from the main dining area, with beautiful lighting. Though it wasn’t a private room, the space felt intimate and perfect for our group to catch-up and chat.
Our dishes were also delicious and instead of dessert, the group shared the lemon ricotta pancakes and Italian donuts, both of which I highly recommend.
Service was excellent, timing was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday brunch.
First time dining at Covina- had a very nice family lunch! Service was pretty good and food was delicious. I recommend the avocado toast and chopped chicken salad!
Very limited menu and what's there is nothing special. Too pricey for the experience.
We came at an off hour and the restaurant was empty except for us which was fine. We had the cauliflower starter which was ok but skimpy for sharing. I ordered the fire roasted chicken salad. It arrived without the bacon or blue cheese as listed on the menu. Instead of taking away the salad and giving me one with all the ingredients, the server brought me a portion of cheese and bacon to add to the salad. He indicated that he was was giving me additional items if I didn’t get enough originally. I repeated there was No bacon or cheese in the salad. Basically, I thought they could have done much better in service and food prep. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. I had enjoyed my dining at Covina previously, but doubt if I’ll be back.
Ambience, food and service all great! Definitely recommend for a relaxed evening
We liked this restaurant very much. Comfortable seating, very good food and drinks. A limited menu but each plate our party had was very good. The tomato and mozzarella appetizer was amazing. We would definitely go back again
The restaurant was beautiful. The service was excellent. The food was amazing. The best grilled cheese I've ever had. Curried tomato soup and truffle fries were phenomenal. Very nice atmosphere. This is the place for lunch.
Food was extraordinary! Loved the pizzas and our amazing candy bar dessert!! Can’t wait to go again!!
Salmon with Meyer lemon beurre blanc not as good as usual. The sauce tasted different and not as good. Too heavy on the tarragon oil and the sauce did not have the proper consistency for a beurre blanc. The portion sizes are ridiculously small for the price and always have been. $13 for Cauliflower Romesco and it's hardly enough to feel full. Seriously, adding four or more cauliflower florets cannot break the bank. The menu has not changed since I have been dining there. How about adding some new items or specials?. Also very hard to eat low carb, vegetable choices should be more varied with more selection. The simple garden salad was very good. Lovely selection of greens, fresh and crisp and the Meyer Lemon dressing was outstanding.
We really enjoyed our long and relaxing lunch at covina.
The food is delicious, and the room is warm and lovely. Our server went above and beyond. It was a very welcoming atmosphere, and we felt very comfortable and welcomed
Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious!
tables right on top of each other. very loud.
Amazing, as usual, one of my favorite places
Very salty ceviche. Pasta was good. Expensive wines for what they are. Nice space. Good service.
Great food and drinks
Good location and value. Variety of dishes for all palates. Our server was lackluster and not very attentive. From reading the reviews, I expected more from this restaurant. Average experience.
The food was excellent especially the 2 pasta dishes which were superb
The staff could not have been any nicer. They brought us truffle fries it taste and did not charge for a glass of wine when my friend did not like the bottle chosen from the wine list.
It was a wonderful dining experience.
We went to Covina for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is lovely and the food was excellent.
Excellent food . Salmon melted in my mouth. Pea shoot salad was delicious and substantial. Music was a little loud when we arrived , host lowered it a little for us. Service was excellent. Nice find!
Covina is our favorite neighborhood restaurant! We love to sit at the bar and dine during the week, and have had dates, engagement parties and birthday dinners here! The food is always spectacular, and the Spicy Honey pizza and the burger did not disappoint the other night!
A really good brunch
