About Cousino's Steakhouse
Cousino’s Steakhouse combines dining in casual elegance with the comfort of being in a familiar place. We have been perfecting our menu since 1945 and, while we’ve updated our look, the basics are still the same. We still believe the only way to cook a steak is over an open flame, meal time is family time, and only the freshest ingredients will do. Our warm, friendly atmosphere welcomes back generation after generation, and our fantastic menu never disappoints. Choose from our lighter fare of scrumptious soups, salads, and sandwiches or indulge in our flavorful, juicy signature steaks and chops, deliciously prepared seafood entrees, or a variety of delightful poultry offerings. Our delicious food made us famous, but it’s our unparalleled service that has kept the crowds coming for more than 50 years. When you dine at Cousino’s Steakhouse, you have the feeling that you are surrounded by family. An East Toledo landmark for over half a century.

Cousino's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
So the service here was fantastic. The waitress was very kinda and attentive. That was excellent. But the food, I ordered a porterhouse and it was awful. It tasted like the girl, which usually would be a good thing, however it was burnt to a crisp and I could taste it, not even steak sauce could cover the flavor. This is not how a medium steak should be prepared. And the side, some potatoe cassarole, was more like baby food then something expected with their most expensive steak. Over all I give them a 2/10 and probably will never return.
absolutely the worst, out of items, severed the food rare 3 times and gave up, did not eat,
others food was char-coaled, way over done, and another 's steak was barely warm. It seems the only difference between the smaller steak and larger steak is the amount of gristle and fat left on it. You pay extra for fat and gristle.
We were visiting with a dear friend who recently lost their spouse. Initially it was a lovely visit, but then 12 elderly men were seated at a table right by ours. They were very loud, rowdy and distracting, ruining our conversation because we had to shout to hear each other. There should be a room for groups of that size, so the other diner's visit is not disrupted. The food special we all had was very good, but we had to keep asking the waitress for things, including plates for our dinner rolls, more water, etc. She was not attentive at all.
Its been a while since i've been to Cousino's for dinner but we thought we would give it a try. We were greeted warmly and seated in the dinning room. The waitress was very prompt to come over and take our drink order which I had to change my choice of wine since they did not have it anymore even though it was on the cocktail/ appetizer menu. I did mention to her that the cocktail/ appetizer menu should be updated and that they looked a little worse for wear. Once we made cocktail choices it was on to a couple Appetizers and I do have to say the French Onion Soup was very good but my dad order Escargot to find out they were out, really on a Saturday night?, so he ordered the shrimp cocktail which turned out to be a good choice . The shrimp were big and were a meal in its self plus the cocktail sauce had a great horseradish bite to it. We then ordered our dinners which consisted of two 16oz prime rib and a Perch dinner. The perch was excellent and even thought the prime rib was very good tasting I did not think it was a "melt in your mouth prime" but I would order it again because they do give you a generous cut. It looked bigger than 16oz when they brought it to the table and I ended up taking half of it home which is good with me :) Also I wanted to add that we ordered some broccoli to share and it was cooked perfectly too.
Even though I feel they could update or change a few things at there establishment they still serve a very good dinner and I would definitely keep them on my ""going out to dinner choice's"
Met friends fir dinner st this restaurant because it was close for them. Have not been at this restaurant in 20 years and if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise, it will be another 20 years before I go back. It's an inexpensive steak house that has been in the area for 50 plus years whose specialty is or was sirloin. Okay place but for a very good steak there are better options.
We went to Cousino's to celebrate our anniversaries. I wanted to have flowers waiting at the tables for our wives. The restaurant staff was fantastically helpful in making the arrangements and even recommending a florist. The food and service were excellent, and the prices are very reasonable.
The food was very good. I had not been there in years and it was just as good as I remembered.
I took my 7 year old there for dinner and he really liked the restaurant. We eat out a lot and he told me that it may be his new favorite place. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. I travel all over the country and am lucky enough to eat at very nice places. She wold be velcomed at any place that I have ever gone, in fact it would be great if she could train other waitresses (not meaning ones there were bad) to show them how things are done :-)
Thanks for making the experience that much better!
Chose Cousinos based on both a recommendation and availability on Valentine's Day. Parking was a pain since the parking lot was completely full when we arrived. Even with a reservation, we still had to wait several minutes to be seated. No biggie on both points.
Overall ambiance was not to be desired. Salmon selection was good. The ribeye choice was okay; given the presentation and price, I've had better. Broccoli was my side dish selection; I'd of much rather had nice little florets than a whole large stalk.
Expected a more charming experience with this local choice. Didn't quite get it. Likely won't seek this place out for any future special occasions. If happen to be in that particular area and hunger strikes, may give it another try.
After our first time dining here, I will definitely be back. I made a special seating request through open table and the restaurant happily obliged.
Our server (I think her name was Christine?) was wonderful. She didn't rush us to order, answered questions with confidence, and checked in with us enough even though it was very busy. We felt well taken care of.
The food was great. The only snafu was that our French onion soup arrived cold. We were too hungry to complain and it still tasted very good despite the temperature. We got the surf and turf special, both the lobster tail and filet were cooked to perfection. The creme brûlée was delicious, and my favorite dessert. Ours was comped as it was our first visit, which I thought was very generous and a sign of a quality establishment.
I have mixed feelings about the ambiance. It's across from an oil refinery, but the interior is really fresh and new. I think I'd prefer an old, classic feeling for a steakhouse, like Mancy's. The other mood killer was the fact we were seated near two big parties with multiple young children that kept screaming. Since it's a big, open room there isn't any noise buffering. However, this isn't the fault of Cousino's....just a circumstance of chance.
All in all, everything was excellent and we will return!
Several friends and I got together to celebrate someone's recent retirement and we were very happy about our dining experience. The menu options were wonderful, and our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the different food selections. Great time was had by all and we will be returning soon.
This visit was tremendously disappointing to me. I am originally from Toledo and have long heard about Cousino's being a staple restaurant so I felt confident booking a dinner for our special occasion dinner. We were sat out on a overly warm converted room next to a leaky air conditioner and family of crickets. Our server, who was largely absent most of the night, didn't even visit our table until 8 minutes after we sat down. Then when we ordered a bottle of wine it was a spectacle when not 1 server was able to open it and ran around the restaurant asking customers to help them.
Food was ok- maybe it was just too hard to get past the first impression and the service. Definitely felt like I didn't get my money's worth and I cannot imagine that this is the normal presentation given it's history in the city.
Good waiter, good timing for the appetizers, they were good and drinks. Dinner took a long time to come out and it was definitively no good. We were so excited to go there for Father's day, as he wanted a good steak, and me too. We requested medium, mine was well done and cold and his was very chewy. He ate it as he was starving, but I couldn't eat mine. I don't think we coming back.
