Courtyard at Crane - Jekyll Island Club Hotel - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Has been our favorite restaurant on Jekyll Island for a number of years. Great food and ambiance in an historic cottage. Unfortunately they informed us that they will be closing as of July 14th and moving to a new site on the wharf. I'm sure that will excellent as well, but the Crane will be missed.
We have dined in the main dining room at the JI Club many times and have always been very impressed. This was our first time at the Courtyard at Crane and to be honest we are a bit disappointed.
Two of the four people in my party had the Filet Mignon and they were improperly cooked. One was completely unacceptable and it had to be replaced. My wife, who is on a low carb diet, asked to substitute mashed potatoes with additional vegetables. Those additional vegetables did not make it to the plate.
Our server seemed to think nothing of making these oversights right with us. And since I was with company I was not going to create a scene.
It was my Mom's 85th Birthday! Great place to meet relatives from Jacksonville and us being from Hilton Head it was perfect. Had a great lunch and sat on the rocking chairs and chatted. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you! Our waitress, Gabrielle's was awesome. Very pleasant and friendly!
This was our 30th anniversary and third time at the Courtyard at Crane - Jekyll Island Club Hotel. We have had outstanding service and atmosphere every time. The staff genuinely wants to provide exemplary service. Some of the best meals I have had anywhere. This is a first class dining experience in one of the world's most unique locations.
We stopped for lunch while vacationing on Jekyll Island. A friend had recommended it. The surroundings were lovely, the food so tasty, and the service was wonderful. Our waitress' name was Wendy, and she was so friendly and very helpful. Wonderful experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Courtyard at Crane. The ambiance was lovely, romantic and calming....and a gorgeous sunset after dinner. The setting is just lovely this time of year (mid May) with the jasmine in full bloom.
The service was attentive, but not overly so. The servers recommendations were very good.
The squash blossom appetizer was delicious, as was the shrimp and scallops with risotto entree. We took the chocolate dessert to go and it was quite tasty. Prices were reasonable.
We will definitely go again next time we visit Jekyll.
a pleasant and expected experience..we go Mothers Day every year in honor of our Mom's that loved it too! Waitresses very pleasant and service was prompt and some food could have been a little more hotter, but to complain about the experience....i have nothing but praise!
Was a really nice place for my mom's 80th birthday. We could hear there and the food was good, a little different from your everyday menu items. The peanut butter pie was yummy! I loved the old house atmosphere and our table overlooked the intrcoastal. Several folks were dining outside.
Our hostess and server were excellent!
Hospitality was excellent. Staff accommodated our larger than expected group - we'd made 2 reservations for 4 at same time on OpenTable and called ahead requesting the tables be put together (Please consider a larger than 4 reservation to be made via OpenTable) . Our waitress, Gabrielle, provided excellent service. The wait-staff prepares your cocktail order and Gabrielle's versions of Elderflower Martini's and Sangria were delicious! Dinner courses were delicious as well; highly recommend anything they do with Scallops. Venue was beautiful; we dined outside under the loggia of the Courtyard. Highly recommend if you're visiting Jekyll.
