The tomato salad was chopped, very different from the previous menu and difficult to eat. The lobster Mac and Cheese was tasteless and not appetizing to look. The mussel appetizer needed salt, the only good thing was the lychee martini. The service was great.
The location has moved to Kuro’s and the price has increased $10.00 per person to a staggering $79. This will be our last time visiting for brunch as the prices have gotten completely out of reach.
A party of four $316.00 plus tax and tip where the food quality declined.
I mentioned the issue to the food servers (near the serving area) about the cold chicken, undercooked carrots, brisket that was extremely tough, although flavorful. Many items barely warm. The lobster bisque was not even close to what is served at Council Oaks. Brown, thick substance. Good flavor, horrible texture. Their response was “sorry”. The desserts looked wonderful. I sampled three, took one bite and left the rest. Lamb chops always wonderful.
The new location is bright and airy. We never thought Council Oaks location was bad. Visiting Kuro location makes a terrific difference. It was a very positive idea!
We will return and visit Council Oaks for dinner.
Service was great but the food left a lot to be desired. Veal chop was burnt on the bottom and the ravioli sauce tasted like something from Olive Garden. The baked Alaska, though delicious, was so hard in the middle, it was hard to eat the ice cream. No prime rib either, which is usually a special on the weekends. We will wait a bit before returning , They just moved into the ballroom while the new place to put the restaurant is built.
the brunch experience at Kuro (Council Oaks was closed) was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was great and the room is beautiful. We all loved it. Thank you for a wonderful time!
We had such an amazing brunch! Seafood was fresh, everything was delicious!
We love coming to see Dale and his band and the bar and service staff are simply lovely. Looking forward to our next visit!
We went to Council Oak for my husband’s birthday with two other couples. Percy was fantastic. He was always checking on us, made wonderful suggestions and generally made for a great experience. Not sure I need to comment on the food as it is top notch.....starting with the bread basket to the steaks to the sides...all delicious. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts and bacon as well as the corn. We didn’t have dessert. I would also recommend the Sean Minor Cabernet...it was very good for the low price point.
I thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Council Oak. I will definitely return to try more dishes. The ribeye, filet mignon and lobster bisque were amazing. Service was well timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
The waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, the drinks and appetizers arrived promptly and overall the steak was among the best 2 I have ever eaten after traveling to 18 countries, and dining all across the US. This place made an amazing impression on me and I can safely say I’ll be back again and again and again.
A bit pricy but great food !! Well worth he cost because of the service and quality !
Very good as always
Our dinners were perfectly cooked and delicious and the meal was paced just right. Our waiter and servers were attentive, pleasant, and helpful. We would highly recommend The Council Oak.
The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Eddie made our night fantastic. He went above and beyond, Thank you so much!
Took my wife for a quiet alone time after a stressful month
Normally I love Council Oak, but this time the music was very loud and my $115 wagyu NY strip was WAY over salted and I couldn't finish it. I think it was a mistake because my brother got the same thing and his was fine. I would still recommend.
Outstanding service and food. Stone crabs and steaks were fantastic. Great wine list!!!
Our server, Linley was outstanding and the 24oz ribeye was beyond delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Always a great experience and a delicious meal. Try the Wagyu steak..AMAZING!
Great oyster rock, Great steaks! Seasoning not too much, cut is always trimmed and very favorable. Always seem to have great food.
Best Steak in Lauderdale. For a a Monday night the noise was kind of loud. Should request the circular booths of you want quieter area
We love Council Oaks. We dined here two nights in a row! The first night we dined in the dining room and it was fantastic. The second night we dined at the bar. The bar was lively, had great food, of course, and was a lot of fun!
My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday, March 24th. We were not very satisfied with the food, the steak was overcooked, the scallops were not smelling very good. The best thing was the bread!
Great food, Great beverages, Fantastic service. What more could you ask for?
Great service and the food was espectacular!
The hostesses were trouble. The Waiter was great! Very little chance I will be back at this restaurant
10 year weddings anniversary
Best dinner i ever had , Pascal our server was perfect
My first time visiting. Very friendly staff. Great server. Pricy. Every thing is ala crate but large enough to share. Started with a house salad which was average, 2 great sides. Loved the Au Gratin potatoes, creamy and delicious enough for 3 to share. The broccolini was tasty but barely enough for one serving. My biggest complaint would be my filet which I ordered medium and was raw inside and had to be sent back. This Should never happen at a fine steak house.
The seafood tower was awful. Not near enough for 2 people . This is the 3rd time hoping it’s going to get better. Thumbs down
Service is excellent with a staff that treats you like royalty. A wonderful experience
Best Brunch I have ever had!! The lamb chops are by far the best item. Sushi and crab legs are extremely fresh!!
The food was so bad, that we sent it back. Filet mignon was old, asparragus was cold, chicken was slightly edible.
The food was excellent! The noise level was so loud that we could not have a conversation at our table. The only person any one of us could communicate with was the person sitting right next to us. They need to have some kind of acoustic control. We were a party of six and we brought two other couples that had never been there. Both couples stated they would not return. We are not tourists. Extremely expensive to have to scream all night!
It was very nice. Only complaint is we had a reservation and still had to wait for 20 minutes.
King crab was super sweet and delicious. But the broccolini, which has been served to me perfectly many times, was so over-salty this time that I could not eat it. My waiter was legitimately tied up with another table. As a regular, several waiters stopped by to say hi and offered assistance, but it was a little disappointing to have my waiter 'mia' like that, regardless of the reason.
Overall, I'm a big fan of this restaurant--it's good and it's service. But I can't give a rave when it isn't earned...
Our server, Phillip was outstanding! Great food, great service. Will come back again.
Great food and service as always
Great food, service and ambiance! We have dined at both the Tampa and Hollywood Council Oaks restaurants and would highly recommend them!
Great food and plenty of it- would go back over and over again
