Council Oak Steaks & Seafood at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood Florida Ratings and Reviews
My experience with this restaurant was great. Service and food simply spectacular. I would recommended to any one who loves meats. They have some not so popular cuts that you won’t find at any other local steakhouse. Be advised that the place is pricey. A cowboy bone-in cut can run you over $100.00 just for the meat. Other than the price, excellent place.
Nice reception team. Extremely loud and horrible acoustics for dining so that we felt we were in a school house at break time indoors. Ordered lobster bisque which tasted and looked like very thick toasted flour soup which is not recommended to try. The filet mignon were perfectly done as were the scallops, shrimps and mashed potatoes. The peppercorns in the green pepper sauce were hollow and tasteless. I know what that soundstage and look like coming from Europe.
Being our third visit there we were thrilled but sadly couldnt enjoy our meal due to the schoolhouse disturbing ambiance. We will not recommend this place for anything other than meat, sides and drinks but not the ultimate dining experience.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Council Oaks for the second year in a row. We also dine here regularly through the year. Service is always excellent. The noise level on Thanksgiving was better than it is on a normal Friday or Saturday night. Our daughter has the Wagyu steak last year and this year. She said the steak was much better last year. It was a little crispy on the outside this year, but it was still good. All of us wish they'd bring back the creamed corn!!! Our favorite side!! We were told last spring it would be back on the menu in the Fall....we're still waiting! I had the Thanksgiving special. The turkey was good. There was only a small dab of mashed potatoes on my plate with a huge portion of brussell sprouts....wish that would have bee reversed. In fact, do away with the sprouts and give me the creamed corn! 😊We had amazing pumpkin cheesecake last year. They served pumpkin pie this year....but not the typical pumpkin pie, and I wasn't impressed. The cheesecake was much better. Overall, we had a good meal, and we will definitely return. Just not as good as last year's Thanksgiving meal.
This was the first time we have ever received poor service at this restaurant and we dine quite frequently. The server was a nice person but was completely “out of it” the entire night (forgetting our orders or mixing ours up with another table). He wasn’t attentive and we had to flag him or others down on multiple occasions. I’m not accustomed to having to do that at this restaurant...not to this extent at least. Others (and with larger parties) who had been seated after us left before us because they had speedier and more attentive service. Perhaps it had been a long day. The food wasn’t as good as usual on this evening either...
Four of us went to the Council Oaks for Thanksgiving dinner. Three ordered the Thanksgiving special and one ordered a Filet Mignon from the regular menu. Our waiter was courteous and attentive. He insured our needs and wants were met. The turkey et. all was wonderful. The filet was equally good. For desert we had pumpkin pie or apple pie with ice cream. Then we followed everything off with fresh coffee brewed the french press method at our table. We all agreed that Thanksgiving at the Council Oaks was delightful. We may do it again next year.
Council Oak is one of my favorite places to get a really great steak! We have been celebrating Thanksgiving there for the past four years and always look forward to this visit. The service and food is always outstanding. The only disappointing part of this visit was the lobster Mac & Cheese. The lobster was definitely not fresh and I could not take more than one bite. Other than that one hiccup I look forward to the next time I get to eat there.
We had an 8:45 reservation on a Saturday night and we were seated right away. The place was packed and actually the noise was deafening. We could not even have a conversation.
They had no medium prime rib, no lobster tails. We ordered the filet special (medallions with crab and blue cheese) and a filet and crab legs with a baked potato and asparagus. Steaks were ok. We have eaten at Council Oak in Tampa many times and the steaks melt in your mouth. Not so here. The potato tasted boiled. The grilled asparagus/hollandaise sauce was very good. Too much money for a sub par steak.
ON A POSITIVE NOTE: The service was outstanding. Our waiter suggested a bacon appetizer that was incredible.
I would not go back.
Food was just okay. Colossal crab cocktail was far from colossal. Lobster bisque hardly had any lobster in it. Tasted heavy with sherry. Lobster mac n cheese tasteless and no lobster in it. Steak though was excellent. Service just okay. Took forever to get water refill as well as to get my check paid so we could leave. Nyy steakhouse at Coconut Creek far superior.
Hands down the BEST chicken I've ever had in my life! (My husband said the same thing) I took my husband here for his birthday on 10/28/2017 and we've been ranting and raving about this place to anyone who will listen ever since! The service is as exceptional as the food and I can't wait until we go back.
Restaurant & food are fabulous (prices are on the high side). Wait staff was terrific.
Bread sticks with black sesame seeds are out of this world. Filet Mignon was outstanding, as well as the garlic mash & the au gratin potatoes (sides are enough for 2 people to share)
We went to celebrate my friend's birthday. After dinner then brought her a brownie dessert with a candle - very nice.
