Our Server was Percy who was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and provided top notch service. The food was fantastic. Will definitely come again.

Steaks tasted charred. Assist Manager and waiter handled the problem like champs. Because of them I would be willing to try it once more.

Need to advise customers the original Counsel Oaks Restaurant in under renovations and that it is temporarily set up in the hotel ballroom.

I really enjoyed my continued “ birthday week” celebration at Council Oaks Restaurant. Although it is a pricey restaurant, the quality and service were well worth it. The staff ,and I mean the hostesses and waiter, were simply wonderful. When I inquired where the ladies’ facilities were located, I received a personal escort. The wine selection was varied, although I would have liked a few more “ good wines” selections by the glass as my guest and my husband do not like the dry, yet full bodied cabs that I prefer. Therefore, we could not order wine by the bottle. Perhaps I needed more like minded wine enthusiasts!
Otherwise it was a fabulous and high energy evening.

One criticism: I do not smoke,. Both my husband and my dear friend Lenore have allergies that smoking exacerbates. The trek to the restaurant, which is smoke free, ( thank goodness), was treacherous. I wanted to try my birthday luck at the tables or the slots, but none of us could handle the smoke. Perhaps, there is an area which coukd be designated as smoke free to enter and exit both this lovely restaurant and a non smoking casino. If so, I woukd frequent both spots.
Thank you, Council Oaks, for a memorable birthday dinner!

A disappointing evening. The seafood tower tasted waterlogged and not fresh. The rib-eye was chewy and not flavorful.

The BEST steaks in this area.... bar none. Excellent service, too. Waitstaff just doted over my wife and parents. And, if the long bone rib eye is not outrageous enough, the seafood appetizer for 4, loaded with jumbo shrimp, Alaskan crab, lobster and various oysters is off the chart. Yes, it's pricey, but very well worth it!

They have moved to a temporary location in one of the ballrooms. Dark with curtains. Ambiance is a 0. When the new hotel opens they are supposed to move and will give it another try. The steak and lobster was excellent. The bacon appetizer was a slice of fat and terrible.

The service was amazing. Our waiter Gus was attentive and on top of everything. The food was top notch. Only two complaints: the steaks were perfect on the inside, but slightly charred and crunchy on the outside. Second, the prices for the steaks were a little high. I’m from Orlando so maybe Miami is higher but it was definitely higher than the council oaks at Tampa hard rock. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

The seafood appetizer was amazing!! I had the A2 Wagyu which was out of the world! My sister had the bone in filet which she ordered medium rare and it was over cooked, which the management removed from our bill, that was surprising. The broccolini and potato augratin sides were delicious. My greatest experience was with our server who did a phenomenal job by recommending the menu items!!! Props to Steven!!!

It has moved to the conference room area.

Bar area is primarily for people who could not get a table. Not for waiting and drinking.

Steak was like warm.

Way over priced for quality and service. 5th time there. Won’t be back until they move into new hotel location.

Restaurant is in a converted ballroom, no outside view nor much ambiance. Nice Bar area though. Food is overpriced for venue but if the casino pays for it because you lost $1,000, it's all good.

Although I love Council Oak at Tampa Hard Rock and also when the restaurant was in the Casino in Hollywood I was so disappointed to learn that there was a temporary Council Oak in a ballroom. It was our anniversary and the atmosphere there wasn’t that great. If I would of known we would probably have gone out somewhere else (considering we were celebrating an anniversary).

We went to dinner for wife's birthday. I ordered a NY strip! Had good taste but a lot of gristle! I have had better sirloin steaks at other restaurants.
This strip steak should be a lot better quality for the $49 price!
The wife's filet mignon was great as cooked perfectly to medium rare!
We also had great service from an older charming Italian waiter with glasses! Sorry don't remember this gentleman's name!
Also why have a naked steak on plate how about a little garnish

I’ve been to Council Oak many times in the past, but his was the first time in @8 months and the first time since the location has been temporarily moved. Overall, I’d say it was good, but not much better than that. The food service was extremely slow, and there didn’t seem to be any explanation for it. Char grilled octopus app was fantastic, but for the price, you’d expect a much bigger portion. Fried calamari was tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Salad course took forever to come out (@40 mins after apps). I had to ask the waiter what the hold up was. He shrugged and apologized, and 10 mins later the salads came out. Caesar salad served way over-dressed and without the white anchovies as described on the menu. When I asked the server about the anchovies, he apologized and said the chef probably forgot them. Attention to detail just isn’t there like it used to be.

Our entrees came out another 30 minutes later, which again was entirely too long a wait especially considering it was a Tuesday summer night, and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. Bone in ribeye was delicious, but was a little tough on the edges. 12 oz NY Strip was also a bit tough. Lamb chops were excellent and nice size portion.

Dessert and coffee came out super fast, and overall we were satisfied. I’d give it 3.5 stars overall. If the service was improved, I’d go to 4 stars. I would return but would expect a better experience given the cost of the meal...@135 pp with tax/tip... and that was with only one glass of Wine total.

The place is trying to make the best they can with the facility being under renovation. I am empathetic to that. Nevertheless the steak was lukewarm, and chewy. I expected a better quality of meat for the price that was being charged. As such I do not feel that I received good value.

The Hard Rock is under construction so many of the familiar restaurants are closed until the
construction is finished. Council Oaks was moved inside but the food and service remain
spectacular. They hung drapes around the perimeter that give it a cozy feeling. I'm sure the new location at Hard Rock will be wonderful, but don't wait if you have a taste for steak - ours were delicious!
