Council Oak Steaks & Seafood at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood Florida Ratings and Reviews
Have eaten here quite a few times but on last occasion was disappointed. The salad which was pricey was not fresh, tasteless and uninteresting. There are not enough smaller plates offered on menu for those of us who like fine dining but don’t eat large portions. Therefore I usually share meals here or have salad and appetizer. Steaks are really good though - seafood is ok but not memorable - waiter seemed uninterested when we left most of the salad although did take it off check. Would only recommend if you are staying and don’t want to go outside hotel as there is only one other decent recent in hotel and we were there for two nights so wanted a change.
The filet was very good as was the side dishes. The restaurant is extremely noisy. After dinner we went to the bar in the center of the casino. Music in the background, slot machines going. Far quieter than the restaurant.
Here’s the worst part. We ate with another couple. My wife and I sat next to each other, NOT across from each other. We had half a filet, an order of mushrooms, and Au gratin potatos left over. The waiter left the bag between me and my wife. Since the other couple had a bag as well there was no question who belonged to each bag. Next day turned out we had each other’s bag and we are 50 miles apart. I left a message for the restaurant manager and 2 days have passed. No call.
We had a reservation for 5 & the place was mobbed. The waiter was young and somewhat inexperienced, ( wrong use of terms, language). The prices have increased at least 20%! The food was good at best. Potatoes au gratin were bland. Ordered a bone in filet mignon, medium, very tender, but overdone. We were in and out in less than 1 hour 20 minutes. Not my idea of a romantic relaxing evening with my husband. Felt rushed.
Everything was wonderful as always. Council Oak is a very good restaurant for fine dining, excellent service and amazing food. The staff go out of their way to please. This is an exceptional place for a date night or special occasion. We have always had wonderful experiences dining here and will return again and again.
Food was fantastic. We originally had a reservation for 2 but ran into 5 friends. The restaurant was very accommodating and seated us all together on the terrace.
Food was fantastic. We did wait a very long time in getting our food. So long, we were all ready to leave so we would not miss our show at 8. (Seated at 545)
We had to ask for our food as well as our bill. When we received the bills-split two ways, they had switched the credit cards. so the one party that had two ended up paying for a dinner of 5 and vice versa. At this point it was so late we had to leave and did not have time to have the waitress fix it.
Our waiter Stephen was wonderful. The food is plentiful and flavorful. Unlike most brunch places there are multiple bottomless drinks to choose from which is a nice change of pace. The only thing that needs improvement are the desserts. The choices for dessert are not exciting.
I have been to Council Oak many times in the past for Sunday Brunch and it was always a culinary dining experience at its finest, with tender perfectly cooked carved meats and the freshest seafood along with an array of fresh assortment of vegetables. Charcuterie was always something I enjoyed with the lovely local honey comb for topping. Unfortunately this day was not the experience I had experienced at Council Oak in the past.
Had prime rib. It was excellent. Oysters on half shell excellent. The waiter was top notch. I'm not a very Ritzy guy, but I like great food. The waiter was extremely professional and didn't make me feel uncomfortable that I didn't order a$200 wine or caviar or their $110 steak. Although I would love to, but the$45 prime rib was perfect and $15 half dozen oysters were delicious. Highly recommend A+++++ Thanks to our waiter from Allentown PA, unfortunately for him the Patriots are going to beat his Eagles in the Superbowl this coming Sunday!
The food was excellent! I had the lamb, it was cooked a perfect medium rare, moist and flavourful. My sister had the huge scallops and brother in law had a prime roast, it was so big he had to take half of it home! Our servers were amazingly quick and very knowledgeable. It is a large dining area with lovely decor, but it has a cozy feel to it as well. I would recommend it for a beautiful pre-show dinner or any special occasion.
Everything is always amazing. Food is great and service is on point. The waiters assistant Jonny was fantastic and really left a great impression with us.
Our only complaint would be the cigarette smoke that comes in from the casino is you’re seated too close to the door.
Third visit, third review. What else can be said? This is the “real deal” steakhouse in south Florida. Tried the Kobe A4 strip tonight, stunningly good. The bacon is beyond ridiculous. Creamed spinach is the best I ever had. The hash browns are a little boring, would not recommend. The au gratin are better. It was our anniversary so our server, Elaine, who was fabulous, brought us as complimentary decadent chocolate dessert. Wine and cordial list is extensive (and pricy,) with some reasonably priced selections as well. This is the best steakhouse you will find anywhere.
